  1. There is a mystery benefactor. Everyone knows this. Whether it be a rich fan plowing in their own money or a 'legitimate businessman' looking to use a club to ensure their shirts are extremely clean, it is not from the club's own income or cash reserves.
  2. I'm sure Mick Kennedy leaving EK will massively impact the fortunes of Stenhousemuir.
  3. Every Clyde fan on here has talked about the mystery benefactor and how it was important to get to January so the relative cash could be splashed. Have you been living under a rock?
  4. Dumbarton will win the playoffs. Bookmark this.
  5. Taylor up front in a 2 in itself has some merit but not v Forfar and not when 4-2-3-1 has taken us 15 points clear at the top. Forfar have slowish centre backs who play deep anyway. Taylor would be best suited out wide where he can pick up the ball in space and drive at them, winning free kicks/yellow cards at worst if he doesn't manage to get past the defender.
  6. The other arguement is usually 'if you can't go 105 minutes without a drink then you have a problem'.
  7. Presuming everyone from Forfar down are vulnerable, who do people want to finish bottom/go down? I like away days to Elgin/Forfar/Stranraer so hope they stay up. At this moment, Clyde offer very little. No home, no community value. Nothing against the fans but they'd be my first choice. Followed by Bonnyrigg. Junior ground, Junior pitch, Junior manager, Junior tactics.
  8. When we lost to Peterhead, we dropped to 'only' 13 points ahead. We've had a bit of a stumble reltatively speaking yet now find ourselves 16 points ahead. Even I'm starting to believe!
  9. In my experience, more young people now see an obstacle like an exam or test at relatively short notice as something that if they or their parents complain to teachers/pastoral care/senior management about then it will be made easier for them, rather than a challenge that just has to be overcome.
  10. It very much feels like this is entirely based on us having a poor second half in the game at Ochilview with an anecdote from years ago to back it up. People can have differences of opinion about a player's quality but this is just nonsense.
  11. I think the 3 (or was it 4?) years of new money clubs romping the league before Stirling won it has skewed people's perceptions of what your average league winning squad looks like. It's usually a group of solid but unspectacular players with 2 or 3 difference makers.
  12. Ross Lyon played 25+ games for Stenny in the 21/22 season at a mixture of right and left back. He was reasonable at worst. Perhaps Ross Lyon isn't the problem.
  13. A wild suggestion, but we could maybe just start with our best players and try to outplay a team we're better than?
  14. The 3 in midfield is just too stodgy. Anderson is better box to box rather than starting further up. If Taylor is fully fit I'd start him and try and terrorise Clyde from the word go.
  15. I'm pretty sure the taxman doesn't take 20% of the £20 note you hand them as you pick up your item.
  16. My wife sometimes get things from these pages. I didn't quite understand how they worked as unless you listed every possession, how would they know what to swap you for? It turns out they just say any item they want (always drink), you buy the drink then swap that for the item. I have no idea why they don't just want the cash equivalent. It's a mad way to do things but the value of drink is always under what the item is worth/what you could sell it for.
  17. I though Elgin were very good. A big change from the passive 2-0 defeat at Ochilview. Always enjoy a trip to Elgin and had a good chat with a couple of Elgin fans. A good bunch. A draw probably suits us both.
  18. I know 'it could have been me' posts are usually said in jest but I crossed the same road at the same place (after presumingly being in the same pub) about 5 mins before.
