  1. Started my own sports blog out of boredom recently to keep myself busy outside of uni. If you are bored enough to give it a read then be my guest. First post about potential signings I’d like to see County make this transfer window. https://rosscountythoughts.wordpress.com/2018/06/07/possible-ross-county-summer-signings/ Enjoy
  2. Feel like I’m one of few that likes the home strip a lot
  3. Personally I don’t see how going down ‘might be a good thing’ why can’t we implement a new long term strategy while in the top flight? Transfer windows etc don’t get longer the league below
  4. Just don’t see the tactic in stacking the midfield if your just going lump the ball over the top of all of them to the smallest man on the pitch???
  5. Yep all over twitter that We’re getting Souttar on loan, most coming from Stoke city fam pages. Effiong deserves a start tomorrow night against Motherwell, hopefully the rest of the team will be a bit more up for this one!
  6. Too early to judge coyle. He said from the very start that every player will have the chance to earn their stay in the team between his appointment and January, so for the minor changes there have been (besides injuries & suspensions) that’s why and I can respect that. As far as I’m looking at it we’ve got some good players and some horrific ones (Tim chow and Ryan Dow need to go). Since coyle has been in there’s been no Right backs playing right mid / Strikers playing midfield so that’s a start. Good core of players overall. But going off recent performances I’d have Eagles playing behind the striker and not wide. Technically great but not got the pace or legs he once did. Keillor Dunn and midge still wingers for me
  7. If you played in a Manchester United team which featured Ronaldo Rooney Scholes Ferdinand... you’ll have something to offer
  8. Anyone know far away billy mckay is from being fully fit? Also is the josh Meekings signing for county just to wind up caley or is it a genuine rumour?
  9. Fox Naismith Fraser Davies kelly Draper Lindsay Gardyne O'Brien Dow Schalk In a 4-2-3_1 formation I think would be our best option, was very tempted to put curran a head for his work rate but equally Mikkelsen for a target man, strikers have a lot to prove this year. Another winger would be good but young Davis Keillor Dunn last night looked wonderful when he came on. Oozing with confidence (get him more game time). Lindsay had another great performance, really think he has potential. I'm confident in the team we have. Would love An Ali Crawford signing to play in front or lyndsay and Draper but that's just me being greedy :/
  10. Hibs have just signed a Lithuanian midfielder and they are pretty well stacked in the midfield department anyway. Probably rubbish that they want draper
  11. Defensively we were a shambles for a while and I'm glad this has been addressed by Jim and billy. Fraser as a CB is a solid paring with Andrew Davies, Fraser will continue to get better and better as the season(s) go by. Andrew Davies for me is the best centre back in a county shirt I have seen, definitely the best header of a ball I've seen. Fraser will learn a lot from Davies and his experience. With kelly and Naismith on either side of a back 4 I'd comfortably say we have one of the best defences in the league. Not forgetting Scott Fox and how many terrific saves he makes week in week out. Naismith a massively underrated player who's consistency is a great aspect of his game. Kelly has impressed early enough and I have confidence he'll get better. Adding Josh Meekings to this defence as a backup would be worth the hassle of 6 months out as he is a terrific talent when fit especially if he signs a 2/3 year deal as I don't believe he's over 24 years old yet. When fit he could play as a back 3 along side Fraser and Davies also. Until his return Kenny VDW Blair Malcom and tumilty are more than adequate backup until then. So imo get Meekings signed! Following on from that, I believe Ross Draper is a key acquisition we desperately need, it's clear to see the lightweight in midfield and everyone is in agreement we need a no nonsense midfield bully which chow routis and Lindsay don't fit. Chow has spells of hard tackles (red card frights) but for me he'd be a perfectly acceptable bench player. Lindsay is an exciting prospect young enough to learn. He's shown his desire to win back the ball on the rare occasion he does lose possession, won't stop working till he has. I see a player in routes, creative and tricky but error prone. With woods leaning, Draper is the ideal player we need to sign, even if it's for £100k+ pay it, he'll be worth it!!! Another winger would perhaps be on my wish list but Dow and midge are suitable enough, give the young lads a shot! If draper signs I'm confident for the season ahead! Mikkelsen, Schalk, Curran and Mckay is a good attacking force. Get Morrison out on loan to the championship/league 1
  12. Right enough, another striker we are 'interested in' Mohamed Yattara. Rotherham also interested weather it be loan or permanent I don't know, few county fans retweeting the rumour but could also be absolute $#*T€
  13. Did feel like a pre season match but happy with a 2-0 win, could of been more. Our crosses into the box were good just needed someone to get on the end of them (would of liked to see mikkelsen on earlier) Naismith and Kelly look the real deal at the back along with Davies and Fraser, very happy with that defence. Jamie Lindsay had a good game, caught swelling a couple of times but it's early in the season and the boy can only get better, definitely a player in there, a Draper signing along side would give nicely!
  14. £80k bid for Draper rejected, wonder what the price will go up to
  15. Well firstly, Lindsay sounds like a promising prospect, one of Mortons best players last year and leaves everything on the pitch. Moving up a league level will definitely spur him on! Morton fans seem to all give very positive comments about him so looking forward to seeing him play. Hope this doesn't hinder Dykes chances to play however as I think he looked comfortable last season and against elgin, out on loan perhaps? Mikkelsen is an unexpected signing, however it's everything us fans have asked for. A strong hold up player. We were never going to replace Boyce but I'm glad we've got a new striker in, 7 goals in 17 with a piss poor Utd side isn't a bad return. still hope to see Morrison given a good chance too! Both signings grabbing goals on their debuts is positive and look forward to seeing them play next game. Anyone know the 5th scorer????? I assume mikkelsen puts to bed the rumour of Connor sammon signing and / or billy mackay (not that I thought he'd come anyway) ? Going forward, I think we definitely need another fast young pace winger who has a decent cross as Utd fans say mikkelsen will thrive off that. I do think we need another brute in the middle, Draper would be great (feels awful saying that) not sure how that will end up but like I said, would love to see dykes and Lyndsey get a chance.
  16. Well Matt green has signed for Lincoln city... still needing a striker.
  17. I believe he was down at Walsall recently so very possible. A couple of my Falkirk supporting mates say he "wants to move back home" so Walsall would make sense. If rumours are to be believed, Sean Kelly from Wimbledon sounds a cert to be on the cards. Can't say I've seen/heard much about him however. Personally I'd like to see us sign Leahy but question is if he can make the jump up a league or not?
  18. At the end of the day, we are Ross county and 7th in the league. Yes you can say we've thrown money at it to be higher but by rights we shouldn't even be in the prem. just enjoying it while I can
