  1. And there-in lies the problem (allegedly) for Tranent. The number of managers that come and go, seems to be far too many. Each new manager wants their own type of player, so turnover of players also appears non-concussive for a settled team. Guys like Sean Murphy (great player) and Ben Murphy have been at club for a long period and served their club well. But there are a number of players who come and go so quickly and it’s hard to keep up and think what their best 11 is.
  2. I like your honesty Omni Just a few weeks ago some Belters fans thought a win away to East Kilbride and Tranent were back in the title race, or certainly finish 2nd. Now, there is a chance they might not finish in top 6. Hopefully they can steady the ship, then prepare for 2024-25.
  3. So it’s a shootout between Dunipace and Newtongrange for top spot? Good to see the Midlothian team back in the Premier League next season.
  4. You sound like a really intelligent guy, perhaps an official in some capacity at Broxburn (not a slight!) and are saying the right things. But it would have to be a major catastrophe for your team not winning league and I just don’t see that happening. I think the manager of Musselburgh may regret saying (along the lines of) we need to stop dropping stupid points. Technically dropping any points are stupid, but no team has define right of thinking 3 pts is a gimme when playing ‘lesser teams’. I think Broxburn bought wisely at start of season. Getting Watt, Page and Turner (probably at a steal) from Penicuik has been a major plus. Look what’s happened, to a normally dependable Midlothian club this season AND how much of an improvement Broxburn are, compared to last season. The 3 of them, haven’t won the league on their own, for Broxburn, but will have played a huge part. Breathing space next week, due to cup ties, but, we’ll see if the doubt is still there, for some, as to champions, come end of March.
  5. Paddy Power would already be paying out on Broxburn wining the league. Only 1 loss in 22 matches and probably would need to lose 3 or 4 of last 8 matches for Jeanfield to catch up. It’s not going to happen! They were close to going up in the year that Bonnyrigg did so hopefully this year, whether it is another set of play-offs, or straight up, I hope they do it this season.
  6. The attendance figures are updated on Twitter monthly/bi-monthly. Guy does a great job, as is shown on these tables. Only 2 figures seem to be outstanding to date: Camelon v Blackburn Utd (13 Jan 24) Kirkcaldy v Herriot Watt Univ (3 Feb 24) Hopefully someone at respective clubs can respond on this.
  7. Given the current league positions and fact that Arniston had lost their last 4 league matches, certainly didn’t envisage that loss today from Nitten. At least it is softened a wee bit by the draw between Whitburn andvDunipace.
  8. Nitten on a current 7-match winning streak, as far as league is concerned, scoring 26 goals and conceding 7 in the process. Dunipace on 5 match winning streak, Cameron 2 wins in row, Whitburn 1 win, with St Andrews on 2 match losing run. Nitten should(?) beat Arniston tomorrow, then have a crunch match the following week, at home to 3rd placed Cameron. Win both, then I think Nitten have strong chance of finishing in top 3, come end of season.
  9. Just thinking same Jordi Hutchie have won 9 out of last 10 league matches, with Broxburn taking the 3 pts away from them. Could say at moment that they are the currently the team of the season, given they have rarely been as high in league in recent seasons.
  10. Stay of the juice Sir as your slavering has now reach epic proportions! Neither of the above sentences make sense to me
  11. Anymore so than their other slavering guy - lithgierose? Both as bad as each other. They could learn a lot from fellow fan, grinderbrokenyourhearts who is one of the better contributors on P&B.
  12. Agreed! Said this a number of times. I’m sure, in the year Bo’ness were promoted; that if COVID hadn’t curtailed the season, Jeanfield would have gone on to win the league.
  13. Just like the 1st match, at Millfield, on 18 October 23, another close affair on Saturday. Defences were on top in both matches, qualified as Broxburn scored the only goal of the previous match. Also, centre-halfs for either side, Greg Page and Nicky Aitchison were awarded MoM by their respective clubs on Saturday. First 0-0 match Haddington has been involved in, this season.
  14. Having played all teams either home and away, I would say the best two teams Haddington have played are Sauchie, then Jeanfield. Add Broxburn into the equation, as HJ indicates, I would be surprised if any team, outwith these three clubs, win the Premier League, come May 24.
  15. Away crowd looked excellent based on the photos Johnstone B took. Your twitter/Facebook updates, especially the photos really put a lot of other clubs to shame
  16. Given that should Pollok win and may get a home tie against a Premier League team in the fourth round, I think the obvious/ best choice would be to travel up the night before, so the team are as fresh as can be for this tie against Brora. Good luck to your team and also to Cumnock and the East of Scotland sides too
  17. Due to the current financial constraints of Berwick, it MAY be due to fact that the club cannot give the post to any external candidate. One wonders why the club is in such financial trouble. I know from earlier reading, that Berwick have backed out of the 3-year plan it had in place. Has anyone asked the club how it appears to be in debt by so much. Surely if the incoming Chair was aware of this debt (if there at time) he wouldn’t have taken on the role when he did - or he was satisfied that he was in a position to carry on with such a deficit?
  18. In the 3 loses, Sauchie conceded 14 goals. After today’s matches only a further 4 goals have been shipped by the Sauchie defence. Haddington have lost their last 3 home league matches; to Sauchie, Broxburn and Musselburgh. Only the Clackmannanshire team outplayed Haddington and appear, at this time, to be Broxburn’s main rivals, given amount of matches still to be played in the league.
  19. From the domestic cup page of P&B, a breakdown of how much clubs will receive as Prize Money; after going out of the cup at whatever round.
  20. Honestly think that is nuts! Glenrothes get hammered by Jeanfield and still get 3pts deduction. I don’t know why under 16s are not permitted to play at this level (will try and find out), but surely a warning to the club would have been suffice on this occasion. If you are good enough to be playing at 15, what is the issue.
  21. Sorry Mr Knowitall, but not steaming! What do you think gives teams in WoS and EoS (or you) the right to think they only need to turn up on the day of a cup tie and a win is guaranteed? Granted, in the last few years, the team that finishes bottom of the Lowland League has not faired well in the EoS PremierLeague the following year. However that doesn’t mean that all LL teams should be considered as cannon fodder on a one-of cup tie? Yes, clubs in WoS/EoS aspire to beat Lowland League teams whenever they meet, but wins should not be thought of as guaranteed.
  22. Hardly having a mare Darvel are Premier League status, whereas Gretna 2008 are In a league above.Tranent showed in 2021-22 that Darvel are not invincible and Darvel didn’t win the West of Scotland Premier League last year either. Just now they sit 4th in the league. So, give Gretna 3008 the praise they rightly deserve today, as opposed to bowing down to Darvel.
  23. What a difference a year makes! Broxburn all out of sorts in 22-23, but back to being a top side this season. After Whitburn's Cup final win, last week, Broxburn were on a hiding to nothing this week. Although it came to penalties, Broxburn's season continues to be impressive
