  1. Anyone knows what’s happening about the Scottish Cup tie? SFA website has both Spartans and City games on the 19th at 3pm at Ainslie Park.
  2. I’m guessing the game v East Kilbride is still on today? No details announced on either club’s social media but match listed in the fixtures on City’s website page.
  3. A quick head count at the Dalkeith v Penicuik game was 112.
  4. Apologies if the question has been answered here or on another thread (couldn’t find it) but, what’s the story with Selkirk for next season? Will they be applying to join the EOS?
  5. A quick look back to this time last season (10 games played). Just highlights again the huge strides made by City this season. 27 points from 10 games is remarkable, but even more when remembering that City’s total points for the whole of last season was 30!
  6. Watched him play for Edinburgh City as a trialist 17/18 pre-season and again for City when he signed. He’s got good technical ability but zero link-up play. Receives the ball and tries to do everything on his own. Can’t comment on his character (as some are) but if Lennon can coach him to become a team player then you’ve good a good addition to your squad. If not, he’ll be on his way in January probably.
  7. Good result tonight. Trying to remember last time City won a game after going behind. Anyone? Good for the confidence going into the game on Saturday.
  8. I get what you’re saying but some clubs seem to have found a way...
  9. Think the club get most things right but not in the case of entry price for tomorrow night. Putting it on a par with a league game is over selling it in my opinion. A number of clubs putting down their entry prices for these games...and not just for matches involving Colts teams. Will wait until Saturday before heading back to Ainslie Park.
  10. A quick look at the City webpage with First Team squad details (http://www.edinburghcityfc.com/list/first-team-squad/) no longer has Ashley Grimes on it - although his name was there last week. He signed a 2-year deal at the beginning of last season. I guess it we can take it he is moving on even though there’s been no announcement?
  11. Just remembered Gareth Roger...I think he signed a 2 year deal at the beginning of last season. Thought he improved the latter part of the season. Still think we need another couple of central defenders at least, however.
  12. Very pleased with the signings too. Looks like we are doing some decent business and much earlier on this time around. Obviously there will be more signings on the way which must surely include some central defenders, or am I missing something? I don’t see any from those left over from last season and amongst the new signings.
  13. Thought Beattie may stay on in a coaching role but...
  14. Very interested to read McDonaugh’s comments in the Evening News as he looks to next season: “I’ve been honest with the players and said we can talk about games, but a couple of months ago in February I wondered if this group could maybe take us to the play-offs next season.” “All they’ve kind of done since then is made me think I need to change things. It’s two fold – you need to congratulate the players for keeping the club in the league and that’s an achievement in itself.” “However, if you want to do better and not just fight for ninth place next season, then I think we need to start again.” Must say I couldn’t agree more. January and February were the best two months of the season by far but the rest of the year has shown we just don’t have the quality to be anything but fighting to avoid the play-off spot. The team really needs major changes if next season is to be any better. Of the non-loanee players, who would be good enough to keep their place in a squad looking for a higher league finish?...Laird, Walker... Would be interested to hear what other City fans think.
