Airdrie vs Peterhead
Passionate replied to Rhys McCabe Hype Train's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
McCabe said at the start of the season Justin was one we had to be careful not to overwork, unfortunately due to the calamitous last week of the window he has had to keep going, unfair on the lad.. -
A disastrous 1st Half where the set up was totally wrong against the opposition , High Risk, High Reward was the mantra at the start of the season, basically the way Peter head played to perfection in the first half, just sliding balls into he channels and exposing our defence, still not sure if McCabe was meant to be playing in midfield or defence today, we basically turned up today thinking it would be a walkover, an arrogant needless passing performance, after the break we went direct and narrow and showed we are a much better side on the front foot, nothing fell for us today in the box, but sometimes you have to makes your own luck in life.... No noticeable boycotts or shouts at he game today, in hindsight no need for the extra stewarding. Scott Agnew was there his his family again today is there again is there anything in this or does he just like the hospitality..

My own opinion again which is never popular, I think if this was not blown up all over social media, there would have been a far better chance of as you say a one match ban or at least a less severe sentence ( is indefinite a life ban, does it not mean it is at the discretion of the club.)... The vigilante type group on the Facebook page has not helped with the majority commenting who have not set foot in the stadium for a while for various reasons anyway...... The club have no option than to dig in here and not give in to Mob rule... Before we all castigate the club further have a look at the Policy section on the Website and it clearly states what is Inappropriate behaviour this isn't new and probably came in when Big Nats family were abused....

Right ok, swap you for Cammy Ballantyne as long as you keep Ross and Wilson

You could do a lot worse than Gary Bollan, We needed s nookers at Boxing Day a few seasons back , we were on a similar run as Clyde are just now, and he kept us up easily, he isn't for the purist or the lefties in your support, but he could well keep you up, what's more important trying to play the right way and going down or nipping and scratching your way to survival... -

Clyde vs Airdrieonians
Passionate replied to Scott-Replay's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
I thought we played ok, nothing like last week, but this was more of a scrap , never thought we were in any danger to be honest, but you are bang on scrapp y 1 nil wins away from build confidence and get you up the league... Well done to Rhys and the boys.... -
Abso!Utley I have done a lot worse and will continue to do so probably inside and outside the ground,is it right 'no', you are the same GC is the same we have all done far worse, On this occasion GC has been unlucky probably a 2 second gesture has been caught on camera for evermore, someone reported it, what more can we say. GC has done more for the club than I or many on here could ever contribute, but he acted like a fud and got caught, and I know for a fact he will deeply regret his 2 second action... As stated in my previous post and indefinite ban is at the discretion of the club, it could be 2 weeks it could be 2 years it is definitely not a stick on life ban...

This is getting out of hand 'surprisingly ', what do we want the club to do have a look at Policys on the website for example, there is a zero tolerance to offensive gestures (if you get caught) especially with anything around children in the Family section.... it is obviously not linked to the Rico situation, but off the back of that sorry saga processes have had to be tightened, for people on here blaming PH for this and him having an agenda please explain.. On the Facebook page tonight there is a poll of who thinks GC should be banned and YES voters being abused on there, FFS...... I Think back k to the cove game and the amount of bleating we did about gestures made to children etc at the end of the title decider last season, and now we are condoning it....(I am not saying it was deliberate at all, but someone has reported and the club have had to take action.. If this was a low profile supporter or a wrong un that did this, we would be applauding the club for taking action, The club cannot pick and choose someone's daftness.. Where is the lifetime ban coming from, the ban is indefinite and can be retracted at any time by the club. And for the record I have voted YES on the Facebook poll...

Is this for the guy flying the bird, behind a group of 8 year olds who were getting there photo taken pre match with the mascot for the day sitting in the Family Section.. I can see as a parent how this wasn't taken as being funny and the club ha've carried out an investigation on the evidence provided by the parents.... does the punishment fit the crime, in this crazy world I am surprised he hasn't got 18 months...

Clyde FC; Season 2022-23
Passionate replied to the_bully_wee's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
Surely it's time for a return of Stuart Millar -
This Airdrie side are either sugar or shite, First class team performance with the team in control for about 80 percent of the game, Montrose were very un Montrose like, seemed little team spirit and lack of pace throughout the side, scoring first in this league is imperative, the last time we did that was the Clyde game, we still have he same issues as in previous weeks when we have been leaking goals, we managed 14 points in our pomp in the first quarter, I think with the games coming up a similar total may be achievable....I Surprised at the crowd yesterday was fully expecting the loyal fans to stay away and moan about Telfer from afield, certainly looked quieter than normal but according to SPFL website attendance was a decent (for us)_ 1115..... Are we still looking for a chairman's statement or has that been put on the back burner for now.....
-
Its one for us o go back to basics, McCabe moving to defence has done nothing really except open glaring holes in midfield, with Ballantyne back I would settle for this side.. Lyness . Ballantyne. Watson ... Fordyce..... ATS..... Telfer . McCabe........ j Deveney Jamieson.... Gall........ Smih... subs...Devenney, McMaster Not much else we can do , hopefully we can all sit in our usual seats again after he QOS debacle

Is everyone jumping the gun here has he got the tin tack or not, or is Lennon sufferring from a stress related illness which the club are doing the right thing and taking him out the firing line until he is fit to return.. (This is not speculation just another slant on the statement) -
It looks to me appointing him as assistant would be a massive wage hike, keeping it in the family... Pointless appointment that has totally ruined a decent pro.. Hutts and Prunty the water bottle throwers certainly have nothing to cheer about, Hutts is,still stealing a wage as a player \ coach, there is more chance of Roddy McKenzie getting a,game these days, all these wages could have been put to better use getting players in...if money is indeed tight ..
-
To be honest Rae and Ballantyne haven't kicked their own arse yet, ok Rae has been injured but surely jury is out on him and Ballantyne who came with a big pedigree hasn't done much, to be honest here are numerous better right backs in the league than him .. Dean Lyness came in just before the QOS and was catching cross balls for fun, 2 weeks training with Hutts instead of catching balls he has developed some weird 2 handed flap, which didn't end to well ....

That's the best we have got, problem that day was McGill wasn't willing to get physical with the 2 Kelty centre halfs and we lost every 60. 40 ball in our favour that day, our defence sat so deep with McCabe just in front, who just wanted to ping crossield Hollywood balls all game (Dean Cairns style). That 3 in midfield is the best option we have, but the setup has to be right, Fordyce has to keep a high line , compressing the midfield and letting our ball players play, at the moment teams are running through us at will, and Telfer and co are chasing shadows, McCabe preaches high risk, high reward, the football we play is the exact opposite a disorganised cowardly shambles...
-
You put Telfer in a midfield 3_with McCabe and Frizzell, you get a totally different Telfer and midfield, The current midfield of Telfer, and 2 boys McMaster and Devenney is overrun, McMaster is out his depth and Devennry could be a right good player if coached correctly and not thrown to the wolves, unfortunately he has to man up and battle on, another when his confidence goes has nobody to pick him up..

Trying to figure out what happened, to me it looks like the board "went for it" last season to get out this godforsaken league and we just came up short , should we have been more prudent financially.......IMO they had to go for it, it was a once in a generation event(that will cheer us up) After Murray had to move on, we tried to keep he rest of he ba nd together, this is where it started to fall apart and get desperate, appointing McCabe (a shadow of a player now) appointed his cousin Fordyce the skipper to his assistant this in hindsight should have been a Sand y Clark(or similar) type to keep Rhys in check.... After that the initial deals offered to out of contract players knocked back offers given, but Falkirk allegedly made offers to McCabe(before appointed) and Frizzell did we match them to resign .... Th club promised a support structure and we are shouting for it..... Prunty and Hutton have clearly been installed in this role but what do they offer , last season Prunt y was everywhere a hyperactive cheer leader, passionate, this season he offers nothing from the bench , it is far more important too get involved and motivate this season.. David Hutton 3rd choice keeper and Gk coach, he was decent at Alloa last season looked a good choice as back up , he too looks completely disinterested and was unable to help when needed with our various keeper issues, problem this leaves he is picking up a dual player coach wage.... How many others have their nose in the trough.. This season is done and will test the resolve and loyalty of all of us was delighted to see us break the 1 k barrier for every home game his season, moving forward......

Think back to a long hot preseason and our top secret training camp at Broadwood, that's when your trialists and targets make an appearance, let's break them down, Euan Deveney ex killie youth, we were warned about him as being pish by Falkirk and Clyde fans, Josh Jack midfielder ex St Mirre n youth failed to win a deal and signed for For far at the arse end of League 2, Jack Garrard ex Hamilton youth again failed to win a deal and now at non league Cowden beath , Dean Jones ex pars probably the best of the bunch, who seemed to hang about for a couple of weeks and offered nothing, oh and not forgetting Dylan Ruiz Diaz ex QP trialist had a number of our fanbase frothing at the mouth with his skills at the NL cup he has since done a Reggie Perrin..I Thats basically all we had to offer a deal to, does McCabe have contacts you would think so as said previously the hard yards are done before a ball is kicked, did we....??? We signed Camny Ballantyne apparent best right wing back in the league, a Murray signing. Time you started to show it son... Josh Rae keeper from QOS, looks on paper a decent signing , time will tell, currently out longish term Ben Wylie IMO a loan that Murray had signed off on, McCabe never took to him from day one and Recalled by Celtic...I Quality loanees that well worn phrase. ..the aforementioned Wylie struggled, Jamieson, McMaster could in time be decent players in time not with Airdrie they wont... The one positive was young his keeper Johnson, he was signed on bizarre 7 day loans with Raes shoulder clearly fucked waiting for young Irish keeper Henderson to ride into town on his white charger to save the day, not the lads fault but performances showed he wasn't ready, another fail. Thankfully Dean Lyness made himself available and looks a quality keeper, although has it been confirmed he is here for the season, listening to Fordyces pre match interview he or Brian Smith mentioned January??I From day one there has been no real targeted recruitment and it clearly shows see above...

It's easy to pick on scapegoats we always do, the 2 players mentioned have not done much wrong IMO, personally I think teams defence is stronger with ATS in it, Telfer on the other hand, has ability, not much went right today, did he hide no, our midfield 3 with him and 2 rookies got overrun, why, McCabe is persisting with 3 ineffective forwards and due to there lack of work rate especially Jameson they give little or no cover defensively, most opponents play 4 in midfield that's where we lose out, 4 4 2 is a typical League 1 formation and should make us harder to beat, don't think it's the McCabe way though, Also the strip looked better with the red shorts and socks combo....(least of our concerns)
