  1. You put Telfer in a midfield 3_with McCabe and Frizzell, you get a totally different Telfer and midfield, The current midfield of Telfer, and 2 boys McMaster and Devenney is overrun, McMaster is out his depth and Devennry could be a right good player if coached correctly and not thrown to the wolves, unfortunately he has to man up and battle on, another when his confidence goes has nobody to pick him up..
  2. Trying to figure out what happened, to me it looks like the board "went for it" last season to get out this godforsaken league and we just came up short , should we have been more prudent financially.......IMO they had to go for it, it was a once in a generation event(that will cheer us up) After Murray had to move on, we tried to keep he rest of he ba nd together, this is where it started to fall apart and get desperate, appointing McCabe (a shadow of a player now) appointed his cousin Fordyce the skipper to his assistant this in hindsight should have been a Sand y Clark(or similar) type to keep Rhys in check.... After that the initial deals offered to out of contract players knocked back offers given, but Falkirk allegedly made offers to McCabe(before appointed) and Frizzell did we match them to resign .... Th club promised a support structure and we are shouting for it..... Prunty and Hutton have clearly been installed in this role but what do they offer , last season Prunt y was everywhere a hyperactive cheer leader, passionate, this season he offers nothing from the bench , it is far more important too get involved and motivate this season.. David Hutton 3rd choice keeper and Gk coach, he was decent at Alloa last season looked a good choice as back up , he too looks completely disinterested and was unable to help when needed with our various keeper issues, problem this leaves he is picking up a dual player coach wage.... How many others have their nose in the trough.. This season is done and will test the resolve and loyalty of all of us was delighted to see us break the 1 k barrier for every home game his season, moving forward......
  3. Agree completely about Fordyce is performances have been as poor and nervy as his pre match interviews, main player, skipper and assistant manager, it is clearly too much for him, relinquish the captain's armband and give more responsibility to others seems too much of a family affair just now..
  4. Great post, it is basically coming down to points over principles, I can see McCabe digging in over this..
  5. Think back to a long hot preseason and our top secret training camp at Broadwood, that's when your trialists and targets make an appearance, let's break them down, Euan Deveney ex killie youth, we were warned about him as being pish by Falkirk and Clyde fans, Josh Jack midfielder ex St Mirre n youth failed to win a deal and signed for For far at the arse end of League 2, Jack Garrard ex Hamilton youth again failed to win a deal and now at non league Cowden beath , Dean Jones ex pars probably the best of the bunch, who seemed to hang about for a couple of weeks and offered nothing, oh and not forgetting Dylan Ruiz Diaz ex QP trialist had a number of our fanbase frothing at the mouth with his skills at the NL cup he has since done a Reggie Perrin..I Thats basically all we had to offer a deal to, does McCabe have contacts you would think so as said previously the hard yards are done before a ball is kicked, did we....??? We signed Camny Ballantyne apparent best right wing back in the league, a Murray signing. Time you started to show it son... Josh Rae keeper from QOS, looks on paper a decent signing , time will tell, currently out longish term Ben Wylie IMO a loan that Murray had signed off on, McCabe never took to him from day one and Recalled by Celtic...I Quality loanees that well worn phrase. ..the aforementioned Wylie struggled, Jamieson, McMaster could in time be decent players in time not with Airdrie they wont... The one positive was young his keeper Johnson, he was signed on bizarre 7 day loans with Raes shoulder clearly fucked waiting for young Irish keeper Henderson to ride into town on his white charger to save the day, not the lads fault but performances showed he wasn't ready, another fail. Thankfully Dean Lyness made himself available and looks a quality keeper, although has it been confirmed he is here for the season, listening to Fordyces pre match interview he or Brian Smith mentioned January??I From day one there has been no real targeted recruitment and it clearly shows see above...
  6. It's easy to pick on scapegoats we always do, the 2 players mentioned have not done much wrong IMO, personally I think teams defence is stronger with ATS in it, Telfer on the other hand, has ability, not much went right today, did he hide no, our midfield 3 with him and 2 rookies got overrun, why, McCabe is persisting with 3 ineffective forwards and due to there lack of work rate especially Jameson they give little or no cover defensively, most opponents play 4 in midfield that's where we lose out, 4 4 2 is a typical League 1 formation and should make us harder to beat, don't think it's the McCabe way though, Also the strip looked better with the red shorts and socks combo....(least of our concerns)
  7. There seems to be a fair bit of ' board bashing' on here and on the Facebook page, I think we were all of the opinion when Murray went th at McCabe was worth a punt, but it could go pete tong pretty quick and it has, could the club have given them a support structure as previously stated, absolutely, did McCabe and co want it after their decent start. ???? How now do we rectify the situation and target 4th place ( Full Time is that good enough ???). We're our expectations too high this season after failing miserably to get promoted in our best season and points total in many many years.... A lot of questions at the moment with not many answers, and for the record I do not go with the theory of financial issues..
  8. Heard today that Wylie was recalled by Celtic due to lack of game time, which was one of t he terms of his loan.... Arguably not a great loss but this happened at the 11 th hour, We could have a million pound to sign players, no use to you when you cannot sign anybody, this lies squarely at the door of McCabe and we really will need to get used to days like this, we have been found out, January window could help would you trust him to sign players though.... Interesting interview with Callum Smith onDTV claiming he is only feeling match sharp now WTF have they been doing in training for the last 3 months (Smith is our most committed player)..I I personally don't think PH will wait too long till our player manager becomes a player only....
  9. Apologies if I have offended your goodself, I am not particularly svelte myself, but I do buy clothes that fit me. Let's not let this deflect from the major issues. Eh....
  10. Well that IMO was a frantic shambles, The 2 fullbacks Watson and Ballantyne were atrocious, Ballantyne could have been red carded at his first booking, shocking tackle. Queens put dangerous crosses in all game with us seemingly unwilling to do the hard yards and get tight and stop the cross, this isn't helped when we play 3 forward players, the midfielders are getting overrun, men against boys, Wilson, Todd and Cochrane for Queens outmuscled our 'boys'... I was all for Rhys stepping back into defenc e, but it created an even bigger hole in midfield, Yet again our lack of depth killed us, Queens put on 4 experienced subs and really took control, Telfer, McMaster and Smith were on there knees at the end, and we could have refreshed it with Deveney coming on...... Apparently Wylie has been sent back to Celtic and Sal to stranrae r with no replacements, absolutely crazy and Rhys really needs to get his head together, we are in a tailspin and I cannot really see us getting out of it short term and it is self inflicted..... The strip looked alright but quality wise looks and feels terrible, what makes the strip look worse though is supporters buying the wrong size it doesn't cost anymore to size up ffs .....
  11. If Celtic can take Wylie back from his loan before it's expiry then surely we can recall Sal from Stranraer If we need to......
  12. Unless he is back to get his fitness up to standard, Jamieson and McMaster still play with St Mirre n B as well excluding Saturday's obviously..
  13. Saw him at he game at kelty, still in a,sling and looked a long way from playing_I would think around January time for return. ( guess)
  14. Stuart Millar did a couple of years back and we ended up with the yellow effort and a Clyde strip aka last season with black shorts and red socks.. Until it was changed after 2_games
  15. Not only have we cut back on the management structure, lightest squad in the league, our new kits comprise of new home top mixed with last season's away shorts and socks and our new away top mixed with last 2 seasons red shorts and socks.. Cost cutting at it's very worst.....
  16. Well what a disappointing few days, the loaner window came, and went with no activity apart from our most physical striker and only o ne in our squad who can compete for a header, Good luck Sal... Onto the game with a predictable look about the team, on paper it looks decent enough, the whole process just seems to be unravelling piece by piece just now... Main issue we have is our strikers Jam ieson and McGI'll give us nothing, McGillseems undroppable as said before is Gal not starting due to is Part Time status, there has to be some reason... Watson and J Devenney dropped out to shoehorn our management team into the Line up, Fordyce is a shadow of the player of last season, constantly giving the ball away playing out from the back and getting pulled all over the place, Ma baw McCabe sat just in front of the defence and played crossfielld hollywood balls all game, constantly switching play on a tight pitch which now and again is a good tactic, but we couldn't build up any momentum or gain territory due t o it.... although our bench and squad is light, changes should have been made, that's the last 2_games opposing managers have been brave putting on fresh legs in attacking areas and it as paid off, Salmon bullied us for the winner last week and Alfie wanted the ball more than our defence today to slot home.... Looking at our coaching setup on the bench, they offer nothing but water bottles, Prunty and Hutts for all there faults were always passionate and involved, now nothing, something not right with the setup.. We have Montrose coming up on Tuesday if we drop that we are in a tailspin,
  17. We were spouting the same pish, we only have 15 outfield players now after letting Sali m go to Stranraer on loan, absolutely crazy...
  18. Let's not get caught up in this Goodwillie pish, the real story here is why an already threadbare squad has lost another player with seeming!y no one replacing him, especially with McCabe and Fordyce looking for wee gems to increase and improve the squad..? a totally bizarre situation at the culmination of a clusterfu k of a squad building process...
  19. The crowds Falkirk get are about 4 times what Airdrie are averaging (1k) and I am led to believe you guys are paying substantially more a week ( upper championship wages apparently) than ourselves, possibly approx double an average Airdrie wage, we are no means flush, but seem very well run and seem stable enough..... What has happened at Falkirk too many noses in the trough ex directors etc, We are lifers in League 1 and Falkirk better watch as they could be as well, if austerity starts to hit home.... Interesting times.....
  20. It very much seems promotion or bust, or could this be described as High Risk. High Reward...
  21. How many senior pros have you got, I think Airdrie are couple short minimum and we have 18...
  22. Saddle up guys and gals, for an exciting couple of days, The well documented loanee window closes on Friday at midnight, surely we will land a wee gem at the last minute to boost our 18 man squad, I hope and expect this too happen... You never know they might end up modelling this season's new home kit which is getting launched this week (apparently)......
  23. Great loan signing, a goalscoring energetic midfielder. The type of player we were crying out for...
