  1. That’s untrue. His goal record for us isn’t far off a goal every other game, most strikers would be more than happy with that. I’m struggling to understand the overwhelming lack of excitement of his signing. I don’t care if he’s a number 9, as long as he gets us goals which his record proves he does. Not only that, we’ve got the likes of him, Ross, Stanton, Vaughan tied down on good term deals.
  2. True but also no mention of Coulson who’s loan deal was only until January too.
  3. Ellis sacked by QP. Would like to see him join the staff here and learn from McGlynn.
  4. At centre back, Musonda is another league. At RB however, is a different story. Falkirk away is a prime example that he’s totally uncomfortable there. The barely found his own man from when he came in, pointlessly lumping it up the line hoping someone would be there. People seem to have short memories and are doing a dis-service to MacKay.
  5. I don’t get the campaign to keep Frankie, especially if he’s keen to go. As I mentioned, I imagine he’ll be one of the higher earners that is currently warming the bench most weeks and 4th choice for his natural position. That money could be better used to strengthen where we need it most which is currently a CM and a goal scorer. There us no point keeping someone if money can be better spent. For those who argue he can cover at full back, I’d like to remind you that we have Young and MacKay (come Jan) that can cover either side. MacKay is no worse at RB than Musonda. We’re not blessed with a large budget so i’d like to see that money being used to fund someone like Gullan on loan.
  6. Is it a no-brainer though? And I question that for both parties. He’s fourth choice in his preferred position. He’d of been off if it wasn’t for his injury. Quality or not, i’d rather our wage budget was better spent getting quality in another positions. We also have MacKay back in Jan who can also play RB.
  7. I get he was great last season but he can’t get in our first XI. Whilst he can cover at LB and RB, he’s not looked comfortable (see Falkirk where he could barely find his own player with a pass). I think the money could be used to get a more natural cover for the fullback positions. The market is often hard to find free agents but I wonder if we could find players with clauses who can leave for a full time team.
  8. Pre-match drinks at the top of the town doesn’t seem appealing and that alone is enough for me.
  9. Couldn’t disagree more. I used to be one of his biggest fans but I think he’s been really poor this season. He struggles to more than the very basic.
  10. Agreed we shouldn’t get too down about picking up points when we’re performing poor but it is getting a bit of a concern how poor we’ve been receiving. When was the last time we dominated both half’s? For the last 4 games we’ve been average at best and without a clean sheet in 12. For as much as I like Varian and Poplatnik, I hope we go out and get a striker who’s going to get into double figures. We also need to stop conceding goals. No criticism against the CB’s or MacDonald but the wing backs and midfield need to do much better. Whether performances have dropped due to a lack of competition on the side lines, we’ll never know.
  11. Fixed for you. Its almost laughable about some people suggesting he shouldn’t be used as a sub. The focus should be that he isn’t anywhere near our team. This has got to be one of McGlynns worst signings (and there hasn’t been many, thankfully).
  12. McGlynn mentioned at the start of the season that he had several plans. I suspect and hope one of those would be a back 3. With Musonda near fit again, we’d have cover there if not used it the DM role. This would allow Tumilty and Dick even more freedom to get forward. How the front line would line up would cause some debating but i’d be keen to see us giving it a go.
  13. Probably an unpopular opinion but I’ll be glad once Tait is gone come January. I was a huge fan of his from the start but IMO my has been poor all season. Despite the uproar, I thought the hibs deal was good for a player who had started to go stale. Whilst he’s still young and has time on his side, his general play has been so poor and Spencer and Matthews have been papering over the cracks in the midfield. He has little to no defensive capabilities, he’s been struggling to make the most simple of passes and generally doesn’t look bothered on the pitch. His odd impressive pass has probably allowed him to get away with it. That, and the fact BRS makes him look like Iniesta. I trust McGlynn to have replacement for both Tait and BRS as well as potential Varian who has impressed me but isn’t getting us the goal return we need for someone leading the line.
  14. It was blowing a gale but it’s hardly been lashing it down for days. The pitch cut up badly, maybe more so at our end. This resulted in it continually bobbling up. Hope this clears up what was already quite clear. Enjoy your night once you settle down.
  15. Was a bit surprised to see someone slate Tait earlier as he got pass marks in my books along with McDonald, Berra, Spencer and Tumilty. Blaise and Mitchell did well when they came on. Lang was stand out for me tonight. The boy was rolls royce, so calm and composed under pressure and can only recall only one mistake. Disappointed with their goal, not the defending as such but the failure to take the runner out. Someone should have taken one for the team. We were far from our best tonight and weren’t really threatened bar Thomas’ wonder strike. Atmosphere was great and much preferred being in the North stand. As for the fans, both were over the top with their celebrations but given we missed so much, I think we’re entitled to do so. As for the chants, I cant say I picked up anything offensive from either side but absolutely intolerable from both sides if true. Lastly, there’s nothing you can do about the conditions but the state of that pitch was terrible. Disappointing not to see huge divots fixed during the break. I’ll take a plastic pitch over that every day of the week.
  16. Calm yourself. If you’re getting that up tight about something as little as that, then I feel for you. If it makes you feel better, you can value him at £160M all you like.
  17. I was quite surprised to see Ross find himself in the no.10 position on Saturday. Might be worth resting Tait. However I’m sure as always McGlynn will go with the tried and tested approach and keep the same starting 11.
  18. Think it’ll go down as an own goal but i’ll take it nonetheless.
  19. One thing I noticed from his interview with RaithTV is how happy to seemed to be back with us. Having read this article, I admire the guy. He clearly believes in himself to aim big and his self-awareness that he can do more to improve himself on and off the pitch. I think it may take him a couple of games to get up to speed but I was much more impressed with him than Kennedy (who only really impressed in his first 3 or 4 games with us). The deal with Aberdeen has us pay a smaller compensation fee on the basis the get a reasonable sell-on should we sell him. I think its fair to assume that he’s been given assurances that we won’t stand in his way if/when teams come calling for the right money. When you get a coup like this then you have to understand that we might not be able to match his level of ambition but if we can benefit from promotion and or a large fee down the line then enjoy the time we have him in our side. Aberdeen fans genuinely seemed gutted to see him go which says alot given the limited opportunity he was given there.
