  1. We actually let 3 go but I’m curious to which one is not good enough for the championship?
  2. Were not the OF, they’re unlikely to support us (unless they’re from Kirkcaldy), nobody is playing for the badge. Footballers are mostly mercenaries earning money to do what they love. Sometimes players will connect well with the fans, manager, area etc and settle longer than others but theres little loyalty in football. I genuinely get the impression he likes being here, thats not to say he wouldn’t move if he was getting a lot more money and/or playing in a higher league. Lets be honest, we’d all do the same in his position. He’s young, ambitious and clearly backs himself. He is however under contract. If we are to let him go, the smart move would be to get a player + money deal, taking less money so we have to pay Aberdeen less and getting another player in at the same time. Whether there’s even any truth in the rumour, we’re still yet to see.
  3. Think i’m in the minority to see Frankie go. Vastly overrated and struggled to get into our first 11 unless we were plagued with injuries. He was underwhelming when he featured last season (especially at RB). I think Bene was by far a bigger loss but appears to have been less animosity about it, albeit I think it was probably time for change with him too. Were in a difficult position now of recruiting a CB who knows they’re not likely to feature once Lang is fit.
  4. And a kit release, as long as Jim Foy isn’t wearing it…
  5. Agreed. Some people i think look at his age and write him off despite his performances and ability. Was also good to hear he performed among the best in the pre-season beep test. He definitely has plenty still left in the tank IMO.
  6. Didn’t realise we couldn’t a RB, CB and a LB. No need to sign a no.9 as well as Tx probably thinks Dick can do a job there…
  7. He can’t play LB if we’re seriously wanting to go up never mind anywhere along the back. He’s okay defensively and poor going forward, also lacks pace. Sadly he’s not the calibre we need if we’re to compete.
  8. I’d suggest it might be better to let Dick go. Get a better LB in (who fits more with Murray’s style) and tell Dick he’s not likely to play much and hope we can offload him. No point paying his wages to sit on the bench and barely play then use a emergency loan if a new LB is hit with our curse.
  9. Couldn’t disagree more. Tait was garbage last season, albeit maybe being forced to play a little deeper. This is coming from someone who rated him highly prior to last season. Tait leaving had zero impact in our form. I think we all know what caused the atmosphere around the club to change with undoubtedly impacted performances on the pitch.
  10. Don’t know about Murray but pretty certain Thomson was interview very early, maybe even last week. Whilst he’s applied, I believe he’s not entirely sold on our vision so we may have to push the boat out to get him. Either Murray or Thomson are my ideal candidates but Thomson needs to sort his social media out.
  11. I think its more a hint he’s already or about to sign given the hashtags.
  12. Firstly, I believe McGlynn’s interview was sincere. He’s a unique character and for us Raith fans that understand him, I believe we can at all tell that he means it. He’s taken ownership and accountability, something that upset most people about DG didn’t do for the victim. I mentioned before that he’s earned a lot if goodwill with the fans, and I think its just enough to save his job. The decision for McGlynn to come out publicly before the board might be a clever move. Everyone wants the board out regardless and I’ll share my opinion shortly, but McGlynn loses credit if he waits until after them. Coming out first, was a ‘good PR play’. It does frustrate me that there has been so much silence from the board. Whilst I appreciate that Raith TV aren’t currently there to do interviews, the press would be well up for a pop at the board. It makes me question whether they’d only feel comfortable answer pre-approved questions. I’ve said it many times and I’ll say it again, we need a clear out there with Sim the only one that can stay given his ownership. I have heard from a source that Tom Morgan isn’t taking any blame and in fact blames Val for blowing this out of proportion, claiming that “she’s a nightmare, barely contributes to the club and they’ve been wanting her out the club for years”. Last the CEO… conflict of interest, requesting eviction of fans for nothing (ask the Stewards who can stand her already), lying to Val. Get her punted asap!
  13. I do believe McGlynn has built up a lot of goodwill with the Raith support. Whilst the last week has damaged this, I do believe a heartfelt apology/interview may just save him. The board however do not have that same relationship with the fans and it’s impossible for heads not to roll if they’re really on a path to rebuild a relationship and trust with the support.
  14. I hope Goodwillie’s contract is funded by Sim’s money, not the clubs. He’s ultimately signed this off and he should pay for it.
  15. About time but further action needed. We’ll no doubt get our pants pulled down by Goodwillie contractually as he holds all the cards. He’ll never get another club and this is his final payday. Doubt we can afford him now anyway but please don’t sign Griffiths.
  16. Anybody know if the club are going to make a statement about this today? I seen last night that Alan Temple suggested there would be one.
  17. Well said. I am 100% against it but will continue to go to games. The club will be here long after the board have gone. Will be interesting what damage this does to McGlynn’s relationship with the fans.
  18. Perfectly summed up. Some of my comments last night were completely taken out of context but you appear to have described how I also feel about the matter. Utterly ridiculous decision by the club. I like you will continue to go to matches but will attempt to find another way to protest against this. What worries me is that we’re not going to pay him off. This will mean supporters and sponsors will walk away as some already have and financially cripple us.
  19. I get that and I also agree. However why don’t we look at other crimes in the same way? Players convicted of assault for example. Is that okay? No uproar as far as I recall.
  20. I’m not claiming Dave MacKay to be the next best thing but please explain to me how Musonda is a better player.
  21. Any reason why? He could have the potential to make a career for himself, hopefully with us as he’s still young and has time on his side. But if he can’t get in the first 11 in the worst team in the professional pyramid, then where do you suggest is his level?
  22. After watching McGlynns pre-match interview and hearing him say he expects a quieter summer window, I had a look at who’s tied down for next year and beyond. 16 in total including young apprentice which is really good to see. Hopefully we can tie down Tumilty, Arnott, Bene and maybe Musonda tied down although I suspect the latter will be off after only recently signing another short term deal.
