I can see him going to the Pars. Huge problems in central defence and not averse to splashing cash in tsf window.

Potter and Co have surprised us before with signings, and I have no doubt they know who they want, or are even negotiating with. They won't be awaiting a decision from Dan without knowing what happens next.

Funnily enough I’ve thought for a week or so that he’ll end up there. Whilst I’d like to keep him, IF we were to get Strapp, Dick would be a back up left footed centre back which would potentially neglect the need for Dan. 3 goals and an assist within short a timeframe makes him appealing for all potential suitors.

  2. I do think were guilty of under valuing our younger players. Having seen Mitchell & Arnott, they’ve both during albeit opportunities to impressed at championship/league 1 level. Whilst I’m keen to see both get the game time they need, I’d like to see them at higher levels than what both are at. I thought this last season and to see them both still in league 2 and lowland league respectively isn’t closing the gap when it comes to the competition they’re to be up against if they play for us in the future.

I’m well aware that my point requires other clubs to want the lads but i’d be surprised if there weren’t teams like Annan, Stirling & Montrose interested.

A big expensive job I'd imagine but I really would love it if they looked into replacing the seats and rusting seat attachments as well as giving the exterior steel a lick of paint. The stands would feel almost new again. Also would like to see the wall running up Pratt Street between main and north stand painted blue however suspecting the fact it's on a main road it could be tricky.

Always thought similar but would prefer our own take on this..

  4. Definitely not saying either Corr or Masson should be regular starters but Masson proved last season that’s he’s adequate at least at this level and Corr featured at the same level if not higher than Hendry did before joining us. Why have them on the books if we’re not willing to give them a go.

Fed up of the doom and gloom in recent weeks on here. Were less than 48 hrs away from competitive football and the bookies have us better odds than than the pars at present.

Would we love our full team assembled by now? Of course! However I doubt their is a team in the country that still has business to do. Its not for the lack of trying and I’d rather wait a week or 2 to get the right player(s) rather than quickly taking whats there at the moment.

Just to play Devils advocate here, lots of folk saying Watson will be fine even if he has no pace because Berra strolled it at Championship level after his pace deserted him.

Bear in mind Berra played 100+ games in the English Premiership, 200+ in the English Championship and was capped 40-odd times for Scotland.
Watson is no Berra in terms of ability.

I’m not saying he won’t be any good, just that it’s probably best we don’t assume we’ve just signed Berra mk2.

Fair however Watson is younger than Berra was and I suspect given he’s previously played at RB in his early years, was blessed with more pace than Berra. Whilst he may not be as quick as he wasn’t, doesn’t mean he still can’t get about.

  6. I thought the hub was more for the daily activities of the community through the week with the added novelty I suppose that it's loosely part of starks park.

I’ve not looked too much into it but i’d be surprised if that’s the case that there would be much use of it at the weekend. Surely they would be ways to accommodate fans and generate more revenue for the club or SSP.
  7. A thing i’ve seen a few times in different posts is people talking about home fans being in the north stand.
The traditionalist in me is against it but i can see the benefits; close to the hub (once built), quicker exit after the games etc. It got me thinking about a few other things if this were to happen… could we switch dugouts? Goodwin made the change at Aberdeen so he could be nearer the linesman to get in his ear and potentially give them an edge. Could a new club shop be located in the hub if we were to switch sides?

  8. Gutted to see Mitchell away out on loan however still at a reasonable level albeit I feel he has the ability to play at a higher level from the limited opportunities he’s had in particular away against the pars last season. Would have liked Arnott to have stayed within the professional league set up but game time is a must I guess.

I feel we now need at least 2 in. Big John surely got to be announced soon if he does indeed get the thumbs up however still need more depth out wide.

  9. Because on one hand he keeps telling us he has targets and should be making a move or two and on the 2nd hand we keep either missing out on these so called targets. On the other hand like I say I've been told there is no money.

Give it a rest with the ‘no money’ nonsense. IM has made it very clear we’re after at least 2 players and that both of these could take some time to conclude. One at least is the 6ft8 faroe striker.
  10. In the short time Spencer was on the pitch you can see he’s 100 times the player Scott Brown is.
Think the ‘captain’ needs a wee seat on the bench, offered little and when he did it was to slow the game down.

The same guy who quite obviously fouled the player in the corner then complained when they were taking time. Utter ridiculous game management from a player that should know better. Brown was the only one of the midfield that actually got stuck in yesterday.
  11. Gullan was hopeless today. Being stuck with him for another two years is disastrous.

His record before signing him permanently was almost a goal every 2 games. I get some of those where at a lower level but the guys clearly has ability but we need to play to his strengths. He can play up top but against the right position and with more support around him. I would however like to see him start of the left if we can get an striker in. I think having him under a decent contract is far from disastrous.
  12. Speaking of season tickets, is anyone itk about the Goodwillie situation? Still waiting on him not being employed so I can get one.

Out of curiosity, why does it matter that he’s paid off before you buy one? Either way he’s getting the money. If we pay him off in one go, this’ll cause significant cashflow options and could see the club spiral. As long as he’s not playing, I’ll back the club.
