  1. It’s why I think we’ll both be in the Championship next season. The form of the top two has been so consistent that whichever one of us finishes in the playoffs will have enough to beat that 9th place Championship club.
  2. Falkirk’s form is good, I think all Pars fans would admit that but ours isn’t awful either and we’re not easy beat. The next two months will be incredibly exciting and although it comes with the expected anxiousness I’d much rather be doing this with you lot than fighting for 8th place in the Championship with Cove or Hamilton. Everything pointing to the game on the 7th, absolutely massive. I’d say not quite at the levels of our title decider with Raith that seen just shy of 12,000 through the turnstiles in 2010/11 but not far off, just a shame it’ll be midweek but that may just add to the magic of it. That game with Raith in 2010/11 was nearer the end of the season with only two games each after so it really had that decider feeling about it. A certain John McGlynn was Raith manager that day, wonder if he’ll struggle to get another team in navy blue up for a big game at East End, he has form for it. I said this on our thread through the week, but I think whoever wins a week on Tuesday will win the league. If it’s a draw then that does more for us than it does for you but both teams have to want to win it. See you all on what I’m sure will be a complete bin fire of a thread when it’s created in the next week!
  3. It shouldn't, if anything it might be good for Bene. Currently the oldest player, captain, leader etc, might be good for him to allow someone else to have that really experienced input, take lead of things further up the pitch so he can focus on doing what he does. I would say since the Clyde 1-1 draw last month he's been a bit off, saying that, he's still playing really well but maybe not his usual self. I think Bene and McGowan will know each other already from time spent at Dundee, along with McPake, Wighton etc. McGowan and Wighton linking up if McGowan plays just behind the strikers would be nice, sometimes we're a bit hesitant, delay the pass, make it too early, someone of McGowan's experience will be able to do that well, or at least I hope!
  4. I know it’s unlikely and probably won’t happen, but I noticed we’re forecast for heavy snow on 7th March. Mad that the referees and officials helping us to the title have now managed to arrange for bad weather so that we can continue to avoid Falkirk out of complete fear.
  5. Must've been typing at the same time, think that might be the case, happy to be proven wrong if anyone else knows?
  6. I think that could be the case, be really interesting to see how many of their fans travel over, have they ever played in Scotland before? Yeah I noticed that, not sure what the connection is. Anything to do with both them and Hamburger SV being from Hamburg, with the former having some sort of connection with Rangers?
  7. Going by Twitter there's a fair amount if interest from non Pars fans, suppose there's fair few who seem to have St.Pauli as a team they "support". If we win the league and have a decent summer window, coupled with the non Pars fans in attendance this could be a fairy well supported pre-season friendly. I'm sure some of the St.Pauli fans are daydreaming about bridies, Jiggies and spending the weekend in Scotland's eighth city! edit - aware Jiggies is no more, RIP sweet prince x
  8. Just noticed the guy that does Pars Review has posted a link from Germany, apparently we're playing St.Pauli in a friendly 23rd June (at home unfortunately)
  9. I genuinely think it's closer than some think. Not quite 50/50 given the points advantage but there's still six points to play for between us which would wipe that out if both games go in your favour. I think whoever comes out on top in a fortnight will go on to win the league, I know it's only one result but I just have a feeling. We're away to Queens and then home to Alloa before then, and Falkirk are away to Airdrie and then home to Peterhead, so it could all look a lot different by the 7th. There's many places I'd rather go than Dumfries for a must win game, but at the same time we've won there already this season and they just got absolutely dicked 3-0 off of Kelty. Falkirk going to Airdrie won't be easy as we've found in the last two weeks. I fancy us both to win our games the weekend prior to the derby. We've beaten Alloa both times in the league this season and fairly certain Falkirk have also done the same against Peterhead. I think Alloa is a trickier task but we should have enough to win. I do have a good feeling about the McGowan signing, exactly the type of player I'd have wanted, creative, bags of experience, worked under the manager before so he should get the best out of him. We've got the young boys on loan from Rangers, Dundee Utd, Motherwell etc and they've been great but I think the experience McGowan will bring over the next couple of months will be massive.
  10. Aye, we’ve seen how much the police lie about stuff, wouldn’t be surprised if none of this happened and he was actually at home reading at the time. A quiet, sophisticated gentleman.
  11. Remember, it’s Falkirk fans on this thread telling us about how bad he is. Kids in glass houses and all that…
  12. And your gaffer signs rapists. Moral high ground certainly isn’t for you lot.
  13. Happy with that. Bags of experience, still has quality and going by the Dundee fans on here and twitter they’re fairly surprised to see him go, which says a lot. Keep him fit and he’ll pop up with goals and assists in the next two months that will be vital. I thought he might have joined in the summer when McPake mentioned the player with a lot of experience but it looks like it was Niall McGinn we were after.
  14. We seem to be a lot better away from home. If we don’t score early at East End then the moans and groans begin and the fans get a bit fed up, although we’re usually trying to break teams down sitting with 10 men camped on the edge of their box. Yesterday we were poor against Airdrie in the first half, a lot better in the second which is the story of our season, and towards the latter stages even before we scored or Airdrie went down to 10 you felt we would chuck everything at it and get the win. Seems to enjoy going to grounds where the pressure is on the home team and quietly go about our business and get the job done. Wr were poor at home to Queens in December but won fairly comfortably down at Dumfries earlier in the season. I think it’ll be tight, low scoring and I’d take a scruffy 1 nil away win with the ball going in off Josh Todd’s scrotum in injury time.
  15. McPake has said in his post match interview that Airdrie are the best team we’ve faced this season and I tend to agree.
  16. I’m sure that’s the case, would rather he just said no especially after another dogshit performance.
  17. Anyone hear McPake’s interview? The typed version is on the official website, doesn’t quite cover the full 8 mins audio that is there also. Asked about the Motherwell rumour and gives a wideo response, fair enough maybe that’s his way of saying no but just muddies the water.
  18. Much like the game in September, Airdrie started well and by far the better team in the first half. We were much improved in the second but a draw a fair result. Hopefully Airdrie do us a turn next week. Exactly the same ending as the game in September, chucked the kitchen sink at it, hit the post, missed penalty is criminal but overall a point a fair result. Spotted Sam Fisher outside East End at full time. Would love to have him with us next season.
  19. Falkirk game from 2nd Jan is now going to be Tuesday 7th March, 7:45pm
