  1. Dont disagree. But if we are putting anyone in that LW role, Id have Tierney over Robertson. Tierney is bit better facing players up and with his back to goal, Robertson almost needs the momentum of an overlap to get past players. Tierney is probably the more rounded player as well. Just for the love of god not Robertson at RWB again!
  2. I think its about making sure we arent welded to a system that has worked fleetingly at best. I'm not suggesting we should change systems every game, but 50% of our qualifying games tend to be against teams we should be beating if we want to qualify for things. That objective shouldnt be beyond this group of players. Having a plan that makes us more of a threat and more controlling in those games is crucial. We dont have one, thats the gripe I have. Last night we played against Moldova the same we did against Denmark and will again against Austria. I get we need to get players comfortable in that system, but we need at the very least a different option in terms of shape for certain games.
  3. 5 at the back at home to Moldova. Going 5-4-1 against Moldova to protect a 1-0 lead at home. Not realising 2 up top hasnt worked in the 5 or 6 games hes tried it. A main striker with a Fraser or Christie around them with McGinn coming from deep worked. No idea why hes changed it. The midfield set up which has resulted in McGinn being anonymous for the past 5 or 6 games. Ryan Christie playing the past 180 minutes and offering less than f**k all while Turnbull gets a few minutes at right mid. His substitutions in general make us worse 99% of the time since he took charge. Tonight was no different. The complete non entity that is our right hand side. His lack of Plan B. 5 at the back at home to fucking Moldova. Telling the media afterwards we played on the front foot. Did we bollocks. The only good things tonight were the win (which should be a given), Billy Gilmour looking several steps ahead of his teammates, Hanley continuing to look decent and Pattersnm showing some good promise. Pish in every other aspecr.
  4. Rant time. Ivr been to most home games since the late 90s and that was one of the most infuriating games Ive been at since the Levein days, and it was all down to the manager. f**k sake, 5 at the back against fucking Moldova? Going to a 5-4-1 for the last 10 mins with Turnbull at right mid to protect a 1 goal lead at gome to fucking Moldova?!! Our entire system is set up not to lose. It doesnt work in games we need to go win or in any sort of attacking sense. The right hand side of our team is such a non entity because we are asking a full back to be both full back and winger without the support Tierney offers on the left. Going into the Euros he shook up the midfield with one deeper and two more advanced either side. It doesnt work and it has made McGinn go MIA for 90% of the games since the change. We had success with McGinn attacking from deep with Chrstie or Fraser buzzing about Dykes. Now we have two static attackers upfront that offer very little. Thats all down to how Clarke is setting the team up. The most worrying thing for me is that Clarke and the coaches had a good month with the players during the Euros and England game aside weve been pish. The last two games weve went years backwards in my opinion. This is a talented group of players and Clarke just isnt getting anything from them right now. And his stubberness and lack of plan B or different tactics for more winnable games is going to cost us. Yes, we won, but that was a shite performance and they could easily have sucker punched us for a draw. As much as I really, really like the guy and want him to do well. Hes a loss in Austria away from me being firmly in the Clarke out camp. Thank f**k Im sober because Id be having a full meltdown tonight if I was pished.
  5. I reckon ICT's highest earners will earn more than ours, but our overall budget will be slightly more. Its been said before by someone else, but Hamilton might well have money in the bank, but it doesnt mean that money is directly into their budget. Based on moves this summer, Id be surprised if we didnt have the 3rd highest budget tbh. Allthough paying Holt over £1k a week seems steep for a fairly bang average Championship player. Hope thats not true.
  6. Does the solidarity pay only count for the upfront payment, or is it the final transfer fee? For instance, if that £5m fee was split to £3m upfront, with £2m in add ons such as goals scored, promotion, international caps, etc, would Thistle get the 2.75% on the £3m then additional 2.75% on each of the add on payments?
  7. Is there any other clubs in world football that charge journalists for the privilege of doing their jobs? It obviously wont happen, but I would love it if media outlets, including the BBC, just collectively refused to report on Rangers until they lift these stupid charges and drop their pathetic BBC feud. Rangers playing St Johnstone in a couple of weeks? No bother, report on everything from the St Johnstone side of things and make Rangers a footnote with the absolute bare minimum like injury news or whatever. No interviews with manager or players. No puff pieces from ex-players. Time for them to grow a backbone and stand up to the new club.
  8. Couldnt disagree more. Caldwell is the worst type of moron. The guy thinks he is some footballing genius but without the self awareness to think he might be the problem when things dont go to plan. Just cause he sounds quite posh doesnt make him any less of a moron than a guy like Gordon Daziel, but at least Daziel knows hes a bit thick. Edit: Just seen he was appointed Newcastle U23 lead development coach a couple weeks back. Must have some agent.
  9. Paul Pogba is so shite in that deeper midfield role. The guy genuinely has no defensive awareness or discipline and the amount of times he loses the ball just out of sloppiness is infuriating. He's fantastic when he's given a free role with people to pick up the slack, but Utd would be better off getting rid of him and bringing in someone like Tielemans who can actually play that role.
  10. Celtic getting £15m for Edouard is fantastic business. The guy checked out over a year ago and looks a shadow of the player he can be. Morelos value must be dropping every window. Would be lucky to get £10-12m for him just now IMO.
  11. Hes a diving b*****d, aye. But that one when he was through he defo just slipped. Didnt even appeal for it I dont think.
  12. Not one of "the people" or whatever it is the cretins chant. Seems there are those in Ibrox think its his own fault wee fannies decided to video themselves being racist bellends towards Kyogo.
  13. Morelos is about 10 mins away from doing something stupid. Can sre him starting to get frustrated. Also, Ryan Kent is Jack Grealish levels of overhype. Has been bang average verging on shite 99% of the time Ive watched him.
  14. Now, now. Tier 3 has said repeatedly that 5th would be a good season for us. I imagine he must be absolutely delighted with the playing squad and the management team given we could go top with a win in our next game. Exceeding expectations and all that. Anything else would be hypocrisy would it not?
  15. At least Grant's CV will still read Alloa 2019-2021. Pretend his spell at Dunfermline didnt happen. Cause he'll sure as shit need a CV and a good agent after this.
  16. Arteta looks like a man who knows his goose is cooked in the not too distant future.
  17. He didnt have to do much though. Chambers was yards off him and just kept backing off. Any capable footballer could have set that goal up. The fact Jesus was able to take a touch inside Arsenal's 6 yard box before scoring shows how shite they are defensively.
  18. Arsenal are an absolute banter club. Spend £130m and they've not improved one single position in their starting XI. The fact Xhaka is still there says it all. Guys an idiot. Stick on red card that.
  19. Yeah, agreed. I did think about McGlynn, guy clearly has something about him. But I'd say him and McCall are pretty 50/50 if anything. Looking around Scottish football I'd be terrified of who we'd end up with if we did let McCall for whatever reason. But it wont happen unless we're knee deep in relegation trouble come Feb/March time so hopefully we dont need to worry about that for a while!
  20. You are the one who hates McCall so blindly he sees no right in the guy that just got us promoted, built one of the more exciting squads in the division and got us playing our best football in 4 years. Now that is sad. Hes far from perfect. But Tommy Wright is the only manager in the division I'd take ahead of him so be careful what you wish for.
  21. Rooney has looked like a walking red card as soon Wotherspoon's red. Stick on penalty and red card. St J cant complain about any of the decisions tbh.
  22. A quick google of CPT time shows something called Coloured People's Time which is a racist term used in America apparently. Idiots. You think someone would at least have googled it before using the cringy CPT stuff!
  23. Genuinely didnt know that til about 10 mins ago. Every days a school day and all that. Although, fucking twat that I am, started looking through their website and was thinking that a lot of their dealerships are in this Donald Park area. Must be some size of industrial estate that. Never a surer sign that its time for bed fs haha.
  24. Are cinch and Parks direct competitors though? Is one not a car trading/buying website and the other a car/bus hire company? Theyre different things surely? Its not like Lidl and McDonalds are direct competitors because both companys sell food. Ive not seen anything about cinch asking for clubs or executives to only drive cinch bought vehicles so I struggle to see where this clash with Parks occurs in a practical sense.
