I don't mind him being back as much as back up option. His chances will be extremely limited given obviously he'll have Bair and Vale ahead of him and you've also now got Nicholson as an attacking option aswell (should we continue with one up top and 2 attacking mids)

I find it interesting the 2 players he brought in play in positions of Gent and Davor and it's well documented he would not play them unless he really had to. My fear for tomorrow is, we'll see Spittal RWB, as he'll see it as an attack overload game and Spittal's deliveries will be effective from there in Kettlewell's eyes.

It'll likely be a loan or free from the bottom end of League two we'll get right at the end of the window. I mean last season, it was a guy from Gillingham who had 1 goal before signing and ran about like the wacky waving inflatable tube man.

Conor Wilkinson assisted a title winning goal for me at Motherwell back in the day when I loaned him from Bolton. (So imagine my buzz when we signed him) As much as I love FM, at our level yeah its not a great indicator at all.

Fletcher short term and a LWB on loan on deadline day and I'd be reasonably content. Lamie and likely Efford to be the 2 out. In an ideal world Furlong would have been the loan but given Legia Warsaw looks a highly likely destination, hopefully someone with similar attributes can become available at the last minute. CB wise its pretty much deal with Mugabi till Butcher is back.

Bair sounds like a plan B, a lump in the last 10 minutes and hope he can cause chaos in the box. Even just through presence. If he runs without it looking like 4 different people are controlling his legs and arms then its surely a step up from Mandron.

I actually do think we'll sign a first choice striker. There's still 5 weeks left in the window, and plenty of domino's that can fall higher up in the food chain, all it takes is the right person to suddenly become available whether that's a late loan, or fallen out of favour in the first month of the season somewhere else (ala Peter Hartley) Sure ideally you want your team sorted by the first game, but sometimes patience can be rewarded in the market.

I don't think the ceiling was too high in how much we'd sell him for, so if we can get good compensation then I guess it's best for all parties? I do think given contracts expired over a week ago, I'd say the majority of them won't be back, the only 2 likely were Goss and Casey, unless they are still on holiday and giving an answer just before pre-season begins next Monday.

Considering last season our 2nd top goalscorer was Rickie Lamie, I'd say Spittal with 6 goals and 7 assists has been a very welcome improvement. I had my reservations before hand, but would 100% be 2nd in POTY. 1. KVV 2. Spittal 3. Butcher

Shame the fixtures make top 6 completely out of reach, but aim should be get mathematically safe as soon as possible, then start playing players that'll be part of the squad next season, easier chance to break in Danzaki.
