  1. Two strands to it for me. The first is that he's got a bit lucky at Motherwell in the sense they've had so many injuries that they've had little choice but to stick with him. That's not to give him credit for stepping up when he's had that break but I don't think it's unreasonable to suggest he'd still be sitting on their bench if other guys had been available more often. Football is full of stories like this though. On the idea there has always been a player in there, like others I really, really couldn't see it but worth remembering he seemed to morph into Robert Lewandowski whenever we played bounce games. So maybe Davidson and MacLean should have worked harder at persevering with him. The former just didn't do that though. The whole story around the signing of Bair just summed him up.
  2. Another day, another move away from us being less St Johnstone. On the pitch at least.
  3. Folk that watch their team every week and know how attritional football can be at times appreciate guys like Chris Kane. The embodiment of a team player. He's never gonna win the Ballon d'Or but I'd take him into the trenches with me.
  4. VAR is to Liam Gordon what the pass back rule was to Andy Rhodes. And yet it could be so much worse because yesterday certainly wasn't the first time this season he should have seen red. I get why he went for the header with Mellon when we were chasing the game but it was atrocious and find it staggering he wasn't given a second yellow.
  5. Hopefully he doesn't cost you as many goals as he's cost us this season. Other Saints fans being VERY generous in their appraisal of this absolutely nothing player. Displays minimal effort as well. Looks like he couldn't care less about football.
  6. Heartfelt condolences to all those of a Kirkcaldy persuasion.
  7. Maybe it's just the lack of pace but what gets me about MK is what looks like a complete lack of effort. He makes every 70:30 in his favour look like a 20:80 against him. And he's about the worst player I can remember for taking a pass and simply tapping it straight back to the passer first time with no awareness of whether he's putting them into bother or not. I mean, I could literally do that. I watched him a lot last night and there's no movement either, he's never creating space to give his teammates an option. You might have thought this manager would bring the best out of him but at the moment I just don't see what he's bringing to the table at all. It's hard for him because everyone is abundantly clear how much Levein likes him but he's got to be so much better than but we are currently seeing.
  8. I'd rather have eleven of James Brown than one Max Kucheriavyi. Everyone waking up to Robinson after clamouring to get him back as well. Helpful. Deadwood in the team, not just the squad. Our best players were all born before the fall of the Berlin Wall.
  9. There is no doubt that Levein has got results. We've got 20 points from 14 games since MacLean was sacked, season form that's 33 points which puts you up there with Killie and St Mirren. He's only lost to the Old Firm and away at Hearts and Killie in the league. Folk will point out also how close we are to the top six. But it's hard to get your head around because we are still so rubbish. This is the worst Saints team, IMO, in two decades. They make attacking looking so difficult and struggle to build any sort of possession. The width issue was better yesterday but still there for was no one with an ability to worry an opposition full back. I appreciate we've been blessed with the teams put together from Coyle up to the double winners, but having to accept this being what have we to look forward to is s struggle, i can't lie. Can only hope that Levein intends to put far more of a mark on things.
  10. Never seen it so quiet in and around the stadium. By time we got round from away end the place was dead and never been so easy to get away from the town. Even wandering out and across the bridge, the car park was empty. Having seen the movie twice before, has the Adams appointment failed to capture the imagination? I've seen worse games this season but that's not much of a bar. I still think County have a decent squad too.
  11. It'll be 14 days after any booking that has taken him through the threshold, it that has happened.
  12. Speedy and hopefully full recovery. @RandomGuy. Those few minutes to get the safety specs are always worth the hassle.
  13. Anthony Cole is right. McClelland signed some truly unremarkable players. John Budden anyone?
  14. I wasn't there but did Buglione not score an absolute worldie on his debut at Easter Road? We were two-up within about 15 mins but ended up drawing 2-2? Think he only scored about 2 or 3 more goals? For a bonus point, can anyone remember the name of the left back signed at the same time from down south?
  15. It is a massive game next Saturday. Start of February and since about 4:45pm on Saturday 22 July, pushing 200 days by kick-off next week, our away goals... Saturday 22 July: Ben McCrystal vs Alloa Saturday 9 December: Bevis Mugabi (OG) vs Motherwell Saturday 23 December: Nicky Clark vs Kilmarnock
  16. Another striker is completely pointless as we create absolutely nothing. It's February next week and we've scored 7 goals from open play. A signing to address that (creativity) would obviously be nice but there is also far more scope to utlilse some of those already in the squad differently IMO.
  17. A diamond midfield with defensive full backs. How easy must that be to play against? It's painful to watch. What are Levein and Kirk actually trying to do?
  18. If Preston is Kimpioka's agent then I'm about done.
  19. What a load of shite. Dreadful. A squad devoid of anything exciting. Motherwell will be rightly disappointed at only getting a point.
  20. Dan Phillips has a lot of good qualities but how many times does he tangibly impact a game? Same applies to Smith, although it's early days for him without the same bed of evidence. Philips is great at getting out of tight situations and he's as strong as an ox but more often than not (IMO) he then makes a poor decision with the ball. He's maybe not helped by the lack of passing options we usually have in fairness I might accept. There is (hopefully - although maybe not if he's leaving) improvement in him but I don't think our team will be noticeably weaker with his departure if we recruit well, despite the parameters we operate under.
  21. About March 2021. And that was on a stream. So just be glad you don't have to watch it every week.
  22. I still have so many issues with this team but glad we took at least a point last night as a defeat would've been harsh. There is no attacking threat or dynamism in midfield (Kucheriavyi at least provided the former when he was introduced) and the lack of width is crippling. Jaiyesimi has such a thankless task. Can Levein do that much over the next week? I don't hold out much hope but the summer rebuild needs to be substantial. Again. Aberdeen very disappointing but a good example of the overall standard of team in this league.
  23. Dear Andy, just fill in the blanks, I can't be bothered. All the best, Craig. Someone Someone - Someone - Soneone Someone - Someone - Max - Someone - Someone Someone - Someone
  24. Hearing rumours Troy Deeney has been sacked. Anyone confirm?
