  1. Whilst it is never thousands, I'm confident that figure for St Johnstone is absolute rubbish, figure in the match programme or not. I'm sure other Saints fans who regularly travel away and were at Pittodrie that day will back that up.
  2. Had a search through the thread but nothing mentioned since the thread was bumped from the end of last year. What app do folk use for live football scores?
  3. What were all the convictions, if it wasn't justice? People served time in jail for their part in Heysel, so it's quite clear that at least one group, if not accepted, were attributed with blame. What more justice do you want for the people that died? We know what happened at Heysel and the fans have been largely blamed for it, even though there were other factors in play. So what more justice are you seeking for the victims?
  4. I think people often see the word justice and make assumptions about aportioning blame and the like when really, what I suspect the families (the people that matter most in all of this) really want is all their questions answered so they can finally get some closure on this. Questions about why the coroner ruled everyone was dead by 3:15pm when accounts from doctors and other medical staff suggest otherwise. Questions about why CCTV tapes went missing or were wiped and questions about who fed the media information which all but one outlet have now apologised for. That is the sort of truth the families are seeking I suspect, not just about whether is was the police or the fans what done it, as it so often seems to boil down to when it's discussed on here.
  5. You're quite right. Last three meetings have all been in the Scottish Cup, with 1-0 win at McDiarmid Park in 1999 and a 6-0 win in Perth in 1992. Last league meetings of the sides were 1989/90. Confident that Dumbarton, Montrose and Albion Rovers are right though when it comes to not having played teams this century, although we have met Montrose in friendlies and at reserve level.
  6. East Stirlingshire are, from what I remember, the only established team yet to play at McDiarmid Park. Saints haven't met them in any competitive competition since April 1988. Other teams we haven't played this century by my reckonking are Montrose (1996), Albion Rovers (1996), Forfar (1999) and Dumbarton (1996). We're yet to play Annan or Peterhead since they admitted to the Scottish Football League. I've seen Saints play East Stirlingshire, Montrose, Forfar, Dumbarton and Peterhead though, so only teams I've still to see us play are Albion Rovers and Annan.
  7. On local radio up here this morning that Adam Strachan has turned down a new deal with Arbroath and is joining Queens. Doesn't seem to have been mention of it yet on this thread.
  8. Very good appointments for Queen of the South. Amazing how the sudden appointment of a decent managerial team creates so much more optimism around the club. The only thing to be wary of is the last time I remember Pie & Bovril being so unanimous in the praise of a new manager was when Mixu Paatelainen joined Hibs! That probably says more about us on here than Gus MacPherson though!
  9. I know Accies don't give players long but less than a week would be pushing a record!

Love it as well. Only started watching it a couple of years ago but raced through the six seasons in about a month! Watched seven and eight as they came on TV. Still have the same avatar from one of the final episodes of the last season. The most ridiculous hour ever but also arguably the best!
  11. Thought Anderson was a bit fortunate to be at 3-3 as Lewis had been the better player and felt he showed that over the next three sets, coupled with Anderson just collapsing. What a turnaround in the last twenty minutes or so though. Great entertainment again though.

Holy fuck, how awesome was that scene in episode 22? It shouldn't have worked but somehow it did. Can't wait for next week, are they finishing with a double epsiode over the water, in other words, can we see it all wrapped up next week? No danger I'm reading your spoiler though, Paul!

Just caught up with episode eighteen and agree with KnightswoodBear that things have really taken off now. Won't put in any spoiler tags as I know they are tempting to read but for anyone watching on TV (as I was until this week!), these next couple of episodes are brilliant.

Oh ya fucker, you guys weren't wrong in building up 7:00am to 8:00am! Didn't see that coming at all! Have given in and am downloading the next hour as we speak!

See they've announced this will be the last season, which maybe hasn't come as a huge shock. I actually think this day has really picked up in the last three weeks (1:00am to 4:00am) and hopefully the EMP bomb that went off last week will take out Dana Walsh. She's rivalling Mike Doyle in the shit character stakes.

What epsidoe are we on in the US? Seems strange we've had two on each week here so far. Not exactly been brilliant so far has it? Some decent new characters but considering we're a quarter through, it just seems to be plodding along.

I didn't mind them bringing Tony back but thought they nearly ruined the last season by having him turn out to be a sort of good guy but bad guy who we thought was good, after of course thinking he was bad. I guess they might save it and bring him back for the film that is meant to be planned after this season. If it was just 24 hours later or something, I wouldn't be fussed about the downloading but I know once it gets going I won't want to be waiting a week to watch it when I know it's available now! Is Aaron Pierce in it?

Will probably just hold off until Sunday now as I haven't had a chance to download the first few episodes yet. Is Tony gonna make an appearance in this season?
  20. Saints have been linked with Enoch Showumni. He seems to be a bit of a joke figure. Is he that bad?
  21. The following comments were made by Geoff Brown in June 2001. Folk like to knock him but he was proved right about Gretna and he has now been proved right (twice) about Livingston. Dominic Keane threatened to sue him IIRC for the statements made. "I thought I detected a sea change last season among chairman, with John Boyle at Motherwell setting the ball in motion with his cuts at Fir Park. I thought we would see a bit more common sense this time round. But I've been amazed by what's happening. I had hoped clubs would be more sensible about wages but it's not happening. It's really quite astounding. Livingston, in particular, are throwing money about and I don't believe it will pay. In fact, I can assure them it won't pay! If it does, it will be the first time it's paid to throw money down a drain! That's what it boils down to, I'm afraid. How many clubs have tried this in the past? Did no one read John Boyle's press statement when he decided to cut his losses at Motherwell? I'd say Livingston and Motherwell are in a similar situation. They are based in well populated areas but many locals head to Glasgow for their football. There's no chance of them becoming the third or fourth club in the country. They can be as ambitious as they like but the money will simply line the pockets of players and their agents. "I'm not miffed because they are taking two of our players. One (Gary Bollan) had burned his boats around Christmas when he turned down a very good offer and the other has been given a deal at Livingston which was £40,000 a year more than our offer. I can't blame the player for accepting it but remember we have Kiegan Parker and in my opinion he would have started a lot more games than Nathan (Lowndes). Now that money will be available as we try to bring two or three new players to Perth. Clubs like Livingston are cutting their squad but paying daft money for players coming in. I'm concerned for Scottish football, not Livingston. Dominic Keane comes from a financial background but he's gone football crazy. There's no way this makes financial sense. There's no way a bank manager would give them cash for what they're doing because he regarded it as a sound investment. "Maybe I'll be accused again of being tight with the money but I'd rather St Johnstone had that reputation and remained solvent, than went bust by spending money we simply don't have."
  22. Having missed it at the flicks, I bought Slumdog when it came out on DVD at the start of the week. You are always wary when a film has been built up that much and if it hadn't been and was some little known film, I'd probably be raving about it. Thought it was really good though. An eight or nine, I think.
  23. What was Ruddy's specific role on the board, if he had one?
  24. Are the rest of the board all good guys who are blameless and couldn't do anything to control these two rogue directors? John Ruddy's media snippets suggest he's a total clown but surely the other board members have got off lightly here? Is the chairman, for one, still in place?
