  1. Indeed. The pathetic jump in prize money between 1st and 2nd almost makes it viable to not win the title- crazy. I think we have what we deserve. Peterhead deserved winners, with a very experienced side finishing up running scared of us. We can't complain, as i don't think the evidence stacks up that we could have taken anything more than perhaps a point from Elgin THAT DAY, given our run of lack of goals at the time- and we still (and might further) struggled with Annan's physicality twice, along with a motivated Cowden side. League table doesnt lie.
  2. 60mph winds had quite a lot to with that. The prospect of travelling to Annan on a Tuesday, then welcoming their six uncles (as the team will of course share those) on the Saturday is nothing to look forward to.
  3. Ochilview is by far the preferred venue i'm sure for any possible final. Old terracin, old ground- perfect.
  4. Its an entirely political remark. Why not utilise "No Surrender"? Same sentiment, different twist. Used in numerous contexts. Unlike yours.
  5. We've had our moments, Strichy- but fairs fair. Aye its been some season. Four crackin games between us. Another four next year. The pixel rivalry here's really down to bordeom. Nothing personal!
  6. I didn't know Annan had an alt-Bourgeiose anarchist underbelly. Can i use phrases associated with General Franco in response?
  7. Stenny would probably smash us yet again. Thankfully we don't have to worry about that. You are fairly ruthless when it matters this year, tbf. Best team won it.
  8. Yes it will, Ross. But there's something of a shop-window feel about the containment of our success up until now. It reeks of us once again falling at a hurdle that isn't so difficult elsewhere. I mean, for fucks sake, Callum Home has a medal out of this!! I felt our amatuerish start today was reminiscent of our game vs Berwick last year, where the 90 mins in front us dissipitated on the basis that it required a jump-start from the "other" match- immaturity? idealism? who knows? We clearly have little focus when the prizes are in sight, even after estsblishing our own credentials. They didn't need to bother about events at Hampden today, yet couldn't match what was in front of them. The point of runs taking in 1 defeat in 25 is that there's a plan behind it, and today there wasn't. Absolutely f**k-all. Maybe the straight knockout minileague could benefit us, but if Cowden can see through us, why shouldn't Edinburgh or Stenny or Annan? I'm not sure we have it left to give. Peterhead would smash all three into the ground, frankly.
  9. Yes, absolutely. Objectively, i think a serious revevaluation is needed for you guys. Pardon me for not giving a f**k whether or not you action it at this moment. Personally, even i cant say we deserve to top you after turning out that turgid pish today. Our Autumn maliase cost us- i can only wonder if any of our happy-clapper arseholes will admit to its culpability in not beating you. Best of luck. Gen up.
  10. Fair play. Congrats PedroCranium. Bluffed it better than last year, and we totally shat the bed today with a 90 minute version of all your second-halves since Christmas. c***s.
  11. The correct answer to this, is an unprecented all three. We really are so reviled. Good, i say.
  12. The best bit of the highlights video from last week (Stirling uploaded one, FYI) is the presentation crew starting to erect the platform in the corner of the ground just as Peason sticks oot a wee jab at the ba'. Double handling, they call that.
  13. I'll field this- i threw McNamara in as comparison to Callum McGregor being quoted as PFA PotY, of a player i felt could have it all, and in the late mid-90s, was doing it against truly quality opponents, and shortlisted for this himself against them. In my view, CMcG isn't a particularly special player, but then he doesn't need to be. That's not his fault, he's a professional doing his best, but i fail to see how Celtic could attain better than him, Forrest or Tierney from the proposals McCart puts forward. The catalyst for this was the question, why would Celtic's players, or those of any elite club for that matter, including a young McNamara, have improved playing in L2 (or D3 at the time), more so now when they have produced players of a sufficient standard under the current format to help them remain dominant while pocketing gazillions from sell-ons of foreigners signed for peanuts. They can't have both these, then also demand to excel at lower league level with the standard of player montheloknow highlights above. The vested interest alone is against the nature of the sport.
  14. If the Racewall have, in all good intentions btw, overshot their own runway, i think there ARE positives to the relocation. The presentation must, absolutely must take place at CP to garner the full experience. With a further, more intimate celebration and marking of the potential event back at Broadwood- lounge and all- but none of this was arranged. Its not arrogance, it's practicalities. Staffing issues, do i hear? Employees of NLL serving Clyde fixtures, even at short notice, would be guaranteed either the shift tomorrow, or a further two in the following weeks. Double time for the inconvenience of last-minute decision, ie we win the fuckin thing, or two shifts later after having tomorrow off. With an open bar, and players staff and fans in fucking dreamland all night, it would be paid for twenty times over. But naw. None of that will happen.
  15. Interesting. No obvious l announcement elsewhere.
  16. They wouldn't loan to us anyway- they need their players together or they learn nothing!!
  17. None of the 'flank' players we have i would say are anything like natural wingers, ie they don't hit by-lines or stretch opponents- in the case of Banks and KSS, they are far more likely to roam centrally, and in the case of Love and Jack Boyle, both to me are natural inside-forwards whose effectiveness is wasted in wide areas. In the sad circumstances of Rankin's injury, i think a timkering is absolutely necessary. Lamont imo takes the ball and distributes/runs like a central midfielder anyway. I'd slot him on the left a three (Grant as the pin, McStay on the right) and play with an out and out straight three across the front; i'd start Banks, Goodie and Love, personally. Our 4231 becomes far too congested at places like Central Park, Annan and even Cliftonhill to an extent- having Rankin as our CAM and our commander-in-pressing, rather than what you'd call a 'ten' or natural playmaker (none of whom exist in L2 who'd get near our eleven, to be truthful) hasn't done us harm at all, but asking players with their own characteristics to replicate Rankin's form, now, is unfair. A straight 4-3-3 here on in is our best option, for me.
  18. And that, Sir, is entirely your prerogative. You could then either face a deflated Brechin/Stenny, who've been playing must-win games (although not very succesfully, saying that) for over a month now; a relentless Clyde side in much the same boat as BC and Sten, but far more succesful at it, unless it's a deflated Peterhead, if they somehow cock it up (which of course i hope they do). Playing is far better than training, especially if teams are on winning/unbeaten streaks. We're now on 8, and 1 defeat in 25. Running feart.
  19. It was merely a personal opinion, when i posted regarding him. Jackie McNamara was quoted in the same category, twice, when competing with genuine top-drawer players in the 90s. "Unfulfilled" was mentioned regarding him, it's fair to say. With regard strictly to McGregor, as an example, McCart's sole tenet on this is that Colt teams will develop better players than him in the future. This is garbage. It's not something Celtic need to improve on, in the current climate. It's 40 of the 41 other clubs, who need to instead.
  20. Letting Annan finish 3rd?? Preposterous!! In any case, if this IS the mindset, then surely the best way of ensuring the most desired outcome is to play your *best* players as they'll have much more of a clue what they're doing. Fielding a 'weakened' side may see unexpected players come into form and really f**k those plans of yours up. I'm very glad none of this "letting" patter has come between us and QP.
