  1. Really hoping this is Nottingham saying the club has the option on him and he'd like to stay, rather than the horrifying alternative. He's absolutely shocking.

In part a lot of Nottingham and Devlin's woes have come by trying to carry Obileye through games though IMO. It's just glaringly obvious those previous two are not a Fitzwater, Guthrie or anywhere near as competent. Though I'd rather not see any of that back three hang around.

Oh, sure, I agree. There's no Sean Byrne or Omeonga in that trio, a player who can get on the ball and playmake.

Holt at times can definitely be that, but he's being forced into the dirty work by Brandon and Pittman's inability to do it. Someone like a Carson in there gives him the opportunity to open up a bit.

Not that it really matters when the defence behind any of them are conspiring to throw the game away at every single opportunity. I really do feel for the sods that end up with Obileye or Devlin after this season. Nottingham as well.

This Livi team isn't due any. They're defensively hopeless, County just beat Rangers, plus Murray and Brophy have both had field days against Livi already this season.

Livi can sometimes have a decent attack. I assume Yengi is suspended which could mean Anderson will play although you might get lucky and it'll be Guthrie instead. Stephen Kelly and MacKay both provide a threat, that's about it, though.

Livi's centre mid of Brandon, Holt and Pittman is solid and can't easily be played through. However, County just need to bypass that Livi midfield either by playing down the flanks or going direct to the strikers.

That's also a midfield core devoid of any playmaking quality. Brandon for me hasn't been great at CM and Pittman's legs look done (before you get to the point of his better work being done historically further forward).

He won't do it but I'd far rather see Carson-Holt-Sangare in the middle.

Can we not just stick him on against Hibs to see what he can do, meaningless end of season kick about for both teams, a pts deduction or forfeiting the game 0-3 for fielding an ineligible player is hardly going to make any difference to our season now.

Maybe we should just take a demotion down to League 2 again, that way we can have a laugh and win some titles again :D

    Yep.

The other jobs around the club all raised his profile in a good way too though, until this season. He chose and ordered the kits when on his hols one season, and other pre season business. Also vaguely remember reading him doing odd jobs around the stadium, like helping build the press room, and installing new showers, stuff like that. Was said to be making the signings even before being made manager. All was well and good on the good ship Martindale till we tanked this season.

Where it really gets confusing is who actually owns Livi?

Is it meant to be McIlvogue, and he kept Ward and Dave Black in their positions running the club. Or did Hogarth going to court to block shares being sold make that null and void. Also, who initially appointed Ward to run Livi,  if someone appointed Ward Chairman, they must be able to remove him too, because Ward doesn't own shares, or the club.

    Martindale? :D

  6. Is that two brand new accounts on here pushing the same agenda again? Another big push from the usual suspects as well? Really is a shame that this spot of the forum has gone down the toilet. What used to be a good spot for Livi fans to come and talk about the club has gone on to become a place where one side of an ownership struggle can just pollute the posts with their side of the story/agenda.

The big part for me is that it's not going to win anyone over, if their side of things get control of the club do they think that suddenly folk on here will want to go to games more under them? It's a similar struggle that's gone on through the clubs history that's seen us lose chunks of a loyal fan base, from which the club hasn't ever really recovered.

I'm at a point (I'd said it before as well), that I think the club needs a total reset. No one involved now, including Hogarth (and those involved in the court battles), should be allowed anywhere near the running of the club. The fact that however many random accounts have popped up on here with the same rhetoric shows they have something to lose in this, more often than not it's personal and financial when it comes to Livi and these types of characters.

Offft this ones a belter of a statement. :D

Aye, we've full scale fucked it :D On paper it looked like we had strengthened and only lost 2 real starters. Turns out Fitzwater to Michael Devlin is an insanely big drop off, Devlin is totally done at this level.

We failed to sign a proper right back to replace Nicky Devlin and then Martindale stopped playing Bruce Anderson, our best striker. Shamal George didn't develop as a keeper and instead got a bit worse.

The two defenders we seemed to be building our new look defence out of are no longer here, De Lucas fell out with Martindale and went to Cyprus and Boyes got bombed up to Inverness in January.

On paper we should've done far far better, we've lost close games and had a general inability to hold onto games or score a penalty as well. Ultimately not good enough though, bit of a surprise as I thought we'd be safe in 7th or 8th tbh.

Livi fans not a fan of DM? I think he's done well for years, outside looking in but I'm not sure what livi fans expect.

A lot of it is, this season his signings have been awful (in part due to the budget being cut 30% from last season's). Guys like Devlin that have the experience and should be doing better have been awful. We've been shite at the back all season. Couple that with his tactics this season that have seen us go on runs where we hadn't won a game in about 15, didn't have a shot on target in 3 straight games and a record of missing crucial penalties or throwing away games. He's been at fault for being stubborn, but you need to caveat it with the fact that the lowest budget in the league then went on to be cut further.

He's a bit of a victim of his own success too, some fans just assumed that top 6 is 'our place' and we should be fighting for it every year. Again, probably credit to the work he's done previously. IMO he should get until December this year to see how he turns it around in the Championship.
