It all seems to be coming from when the Hull manager said he spoke to him about a week ago and said basically "He might negotiate with us again, dunno". Doesn't seem like much of a story. Hopefully anyway. Him missing the European games would be a blow but surely not crucial to Aberdeen. We're unlikely to get past the third qualifying stage realistically even if he had played so not like Maloney would be crucial this early in the season.

What does that mean they offered him a contract before and he seemingly chose Aberdeen? If Aberdeen seem keen to sign him anyway why would Hull still wanting him make any difference unless they offered more money etc.

What's changed regarding Maloney all the reports were saying Aberdeen were willing to wait?

Ash Taylor signed for Northampton. I'm surprised he even managed to find a team at league one level. Coincidentally he's the replacement for Zander Diamond. Imagine the bomb scare defence if the two of them had played together.

Wish I wasn't so pessimistic but the Arnason stuff just sounds like talk to drum up interest from other clubs. In the unlikely event he does come he's certainly an improvement on Taylor at least.

At this point I think the Aberdeen community team is having a bit of fun at the expense of idiots like me that keep checking on twitter for new signings announcements with the amount of crap they're posting on social media that nobody cares about.

Certainly not a bad window, happy that Hayes and McGinn look to be staying put in the short term at least but similar to last year with a few going out and only Christie coming in it is a worry that we'll be left a bit short if injuries/squad rotation are an issue. Hope there is a last minute surprise signing as others have said but I suppose there's no point signing someone just for the sake of it.
