Unlikely I'm afraid, they're not getting the trophy until 2 weeks after the men's final home league game of the season (and I'm not sure a relegation playoff would necessarily be the appropriate place for that!).

So, the club makes some sort of presentation to them and our other league winners (QP B team) at half time in the game against Airdrie.

I'm sure they can come up with something.

You don't think teams adapt their set up based on the opposition?

maybe, but they will know Thomas is a doubt & will no doubt have discussed how they will play if Thomas  is in or out.  They will know an hour before kick-off which plan to go with.

The notion that we are cunning enough to withhold information on whether  a player is fit or not is fanciful in my view. We are many things.  Cunning is not one.

The women's team won the title today after an amazing season. If the club don't let them play at Lesser next season (assuming the men's team will still be playing at big Hampden), there will be blood.

They are being presented with the Trophy at their last home game against Boroughmuir Thistle on the 12th May. You would imagine they will move that to the City Stadium.

    wouldn't you?

I’ve said it before on our threads but everyone knows Welsh is a good player, he’d be playing at a higher level if he wasn’t constantly injured. The timing of getting rid of some experienced players (Welsh, Carson etc) during a relegation scrap, particularly to relegation rivals in one case, and replacing them with inexperienced loan players was certainly questionable. However, individually letting Welsh go wasn’t the poorest decision. Queen’s fans will realise this when he’s out with another long term injury.

You may be right, but so far, we have played 13 games since he joined & the only one he has missed was the one where he was suspended & he has played the full 90 minutes in all but 3 of them (one of these due to red card)

    So, so far so good.

    Great win for the ladies.

it was indeed & a good day all round at the City Stadium for those who couldn't make it, here's what you missed...

there was a decent crowd  - easily 3 or 4 times the numbers at the couple of games I've been to at New Tinto and great to see lots of youngsters in their beautiful Macron kits!

So, what's next? The next game is against Stirling Uni on the 14th April, if QP win that ( & we have beaten them 4-1, 6-0 & 12-0 this season) the worst we can be is 15 points clear of Killie with 5 games to play.  Currently our goal difference is 37 better than Killie's so that would effectively be the league won.  This game is currently scheduled to be played at New Tinto Park - surely it should be moved to the Haugheydrome?

And what about next season where (barring the most dramatic collapse ever) QP women will be playing against the likes of Rangers, Celtic, Glasgow City, Hibs, Hearts & Partick Thistle, where do they plan to play - surely not New Tinto Park, a ground with no seats? And what about the team? They will be up against several teams with full time pro players.  How do they intend to complete?  You would imagine a few teams are eying up some of the girls and surely some form of professional status must be under consideration.

Pleasantly surprised by being the better team here. Still a lack of cutting edge but Bearne has been excellent. You can see trouble every time Queen's Park get the ball in the final third, but it's been rare. They're inevitably going to come into the game more at some point and we need the lead before it happens, but Bearne's cutback that just missed Crawford has been the only really good chance, it's been half chances from headers otherwise. Think Bearne was just played in a wee bit too wide from the one Ferrie had to tip round the post, he hit it as well as possible from that angle but it would have taken a goalkeeping howler to let it in.

As with every other game against Queen's Park in the last two seasons, we've gotten no protection from a referee who has clearly turned up with a subconscious idea of big bad physical Morton in his head and has refereed the game from that standpoint rather than watching what's actually happening. Bearne and Crawford booked for genuine attempts to play the ball, one of which was never a foul, while Paton and Welsh make obvious cynical fouls and get away with it. Centre forward and centre back compete the exact same way for a header at both ends, when it's Sheridan & Baird that's a Queen's Park freekick, when it's Oakley and Wilson that's a Queen's Park freekick.

Would you like salt & vinegar with that bucket of chips on your shoulder?

Unpopular opinion perhaps, but Macron are making some of the nicest & most original kits at the moment, the Dumbarton home kit is a thing of beauty.

doesn't matter to me who makes our kit - could be Primark for all I care - as long as we get a "proper" QP Kit & (ideally) an interesting away kit.
