  1. I don't think we should be chasing off supporters of other clubs. I've got a group of mates (a hibee, an Ayr and a Celtic supporter) and we regularly go to random games around the country to visit smaller clubs we haven't been too or to a game we fancy for a day out and I wouldn't expect us to get chased out of somewhere just because we weren't local diehards. If the way we play starts attracting day trippers all we should be doing is getting them to spend as much as possible.
  2. I suppose we will just need to agree to disagree because we aren't going to get common ground here, I didn't need replays to know he'd made a mistake and I don't think the players or most of the crowd did either. Even in your driving analogy you've not described an unavoidable accident, you've described one caused by a poor decision for which you are at fault which you would be punished for, not likely with a jail sentence but with your insurance picking up the costs of all the repairs if no one's hurt. Even if it's an accident if you killed someone then you might go to jail for recklessness given you changed lanes without checking your blind spot, which is negligence, not an accident and you're responsible for that.
  3. Wouldn't say it's a problem with the modern game, more like the way you played football went out with the ark. There is no way for Coll to win that ball without endangering or injuring his opponent so it's a challenge he shouldn't make.
  4. Just going by this on one football, could be wrong though.
  5. Think we will be without coll for both games and the start of next season as that will be down as a violent conduct red card. If alloa win tonight Annan still be our toughest game with them looking forward to the playoffs.
  6. Excellent to get a result in the circumstances today. Rode our luck a bit with them hitting the wood work but the players have been so good all season they deserve a bit of luck when they need it. Tough 2 games ahead with a makeshift centre back pairing of Mackie and Henderson ahead but we are one step closer.
  7. Looked a solid boot in the face from where I was in the south stand. A red card all day to be honest, just a challenge he shouldn't be making so no way it'll even get appealed.
  8. Goal of the season video up on YouTube now. Going to be hard to pick one from it, lots of good goals this season to look back on.
  9. With kelty safe they will hopefully play with a bit of freedom and it should be a good game. Backing the bairns given our quality and home form but an entertaining 3-1
  10. Can't say I know a lot about McKenna but it seems like it would be a weird move to bring in a 33 year old part timer as he comes to the end of his career. Unless Arbroath are full time and I just don't know that.
  11. Ross McIver is becoming a bit of a big game player for us. A lot of his goals and assists have come in tight matches and that's 2 goals and an assist in 4 games against Hamilton. No argument he should have more goals but he's come up big when it's mattered.
  12. A good result, hardly anything for the defenders to do. Totally dominated the game.
  13. Absolutely delusional to think that we can look at the championship and say we should be aiming to do as well as the 2 teams promoted into it last year. Insane, mental, outrageous thinking.
  14. For the team of the year it depends on formation surely? We are considering one striker but if it's based on 4-4-2 it will be burrell and Morrison up top as the leagues highest scorers and then a selection from Falkirk mostly you would think but each team will have at least 1 player that's been crucial for them that they would advocate for.
  15. Might have been another option or something, rather than a straight 4 year deal. Either way, probably a deal can be done, he's a good player but Hibs should realistically be looking to build a team that can finish 3rd in Premiership next season and he's not ready for that yet. If nothing else we can lighten their wage bill while getting us a player that should do well in the championship.
  16. In regards to the Hartley stuff I'll be content to still hate the greasy wee rat 50 years from now when I'm almost 90. f**k him and f**k Gary Holt.
  17. Another excellent performance, even with the wind causing problems at times we still played really nice stuff. I thought Mackie was top class today again and that was taits best performance in a Falkirk top. Not only did he play the ball nicely all game and score a great goal but his defensive work rate (which was my criticism of him) has come on massively in the last few months and while he's not as strong a tackler as Hendo he's putting himself about much better.
  18. Get that up you Hartley, cove are shite.
  19. I've been quite critical of Mackie but he's played well the last few games probably earning himself a new contract if he doesn't want to go somewhere he's guaranteed to start. I'd still like him to be a bit less reckless at times but the rest of his play has shown why McGlynn rates him and hopefully he can keep improving and playing as well if he stays.
  20. Don't know if it's fair to say you're players have chucked it with 1 draw and 4 wins in your last 5 games. Even at 17 points clear they made us work for it and we still couldn't afford to start dropping points.
  21. What a result tonight against a decent side. What a team, what a season. Absolutely fucking class.
  22. It's fairly obvious from the chat that legend status is directly tied with age and the period folk enjoyed the football most. Old guys don't seem to want to have 'new' legends and maybe the sheen is taken off it because it's not them and all their mates going to the football and then the pub every weekend like they used to. Most of the names getting banded around on here will be meaningless to the young team, if you're under 30 guys like stainrod and crunchie are just guys your dad talks about. Like it or not, this team will be the young teams legends as it will be the best season of football they have watched and if the team manages to go unbeaten they will blow any other team out of the water in terms of legend status.
  23. To be fair I think bisland was poor today, he hasn't played a lot but he struggled, ended up booked and hooked at half time, although it wasn't a great ball to him when he got booked. Mackie had a decent game at centre half but still showed his reckless just after half time with a daft challenge and a booking near the byline. I don't think we will see either player in the team next season.
  24. All set for the result we all really want. Nothing each in Montrose, followed by absolutely spanking that greasy wee rat 5 nil to cinch the title at home in a fortnight.
