  1. I am not sure that game against Aberdeen had any baring on any of the players fitness or energy levels. The double trip to Inverness (which was just bad luck with the draw) was a bit unfortunate, as he said in the interview it is unlike any other season, I think Colin Hamilton for example has played in about 10 games before a ball is kicked in the league, definitely not ideal. Regarding the system dilemma, I think the switch is based on keeping Whatley, Scott and McCord in the team and he must feel that he is not comfortable with a back 4 with who is available, I think the main problem is the right back position, does he move Whatley there? looks like Thomson and Wilson are injured so in a way the 3-5-2 has been almost forced on us. I agree it hinders Omar and Bobby.
  2. No issues with our style of play so far, seem keen to get it down and play, the players we have signed are all of that ilk. Maybe take a bit more time to gel. lookimg forward to seeing the silky football from Forfar when we play them, Stuart Malcolm strutting about like baresi
  3. Would hate to see the reaction if we lose the first league game. There will be epic meltdowns galore. There will be 4 or 5 changes to that team next week so wouldn't read anything into it at all. Thought kader played well and big Philips starting to settle in nicely.
  4. Dundee United game gave me great hope we had improved, probably now need to utilise our loans well and I think we'll have a good season. wouldnt read anything into tonight's game.
  5. We need a bit of a reality check, the squad is miles better than last season and should be capable of challenging for a top 4 position. The likes of Gold, Malin, Dunlop and Hester would seem to be squad fillers for now, they may have to come in at some point and if the team is playing well and confidence is high then I wouldn't really have any concerns. If they were all starting that would obviously be a problem but that is very unlikely to happen. You're never going to have a squad of 18/19 at the same level or quality.
  6. Either or would be fine, imperative we get a decent, out and out centre back in which will allow Hammy to go to Left back. Still think we are a bit light up top but I suppose we have guys who can fill in there or change the system.
  7. I thought whatley did a lot better in the middle but he's a very competent full back. Scott for me looked like the player we were missing last year, he looked to put the boot in, covered a lot of ground and didn't really waste a pass. It's just great to have options all over the park and players fighting for positions.
  8. Got to be delighted with that, for a team that hadn't really played together they looked very well drilled and organised and worked their socks off for one another.
  9. Munro was an accident waiting to happen, much happier having Little, Hammy and possibly a loan coming in.
  10. It looks like Campbell has signed 8 midfielders, which is the exact amount you need. If two get injured or suspended or more then you simply need cover. The same people were moaning a few weeks ago saying we didn't have enough numbers !! I would say we definitely need 1 more defender and could make a case for having an extra front man. I would imagine he will be looking to use loans for these. If not then there would be unbalance to the squad. Raith fans slating McCord and Scott need to remember this is League 2, mostly part time teams including teams like Edinburgh City, you'd think these 2 will stick out. I have seen nothing to suggest we will be playing "hoofball" , from the two friendlies I have seen, it looks like we were very big on retaining possession and attacking with width/pace. Any fan of any team that expects silky football in every game at this level is living in cloud cuckoo land.
  11. Got to be happy with Scott, should do well at our level and adds a bit more experience.
  12. Wouldn't be hanging Dunlop out to dry after one pre season friendly, looks to be a big unit with a bit pace but don't think he has played much football recently. Looking forward to Friday now, will be interesting to see the starting 11.
  13. He may be forced into offering Philips and Ogen something short term due to how quick the season starts. I certainly don't think Ogen is anywhere near good enough. I take it Malin and Prunty are on holiday?

  15. Great to see a young guy like Thomson come in and win a deal (if he accepts) Think we need another 2 or 3 players now, 2 loans maximum after last year's debacle.
  16. Typical pre season game, not played at the best tempo. Thought the players linked in well with eachother and McCord just looks night and day to any creative player we have had in recent years, could be a tremendous signing. I think Thomson and Philips did enough to warrant another look. A centre back is a must if Dunlop is injured.
  17. Seems Scott Binnie had a mare with that article printing Lister instead of Prunty. Might pop down on Sunday, should be a good few trialists playing.
  18. Nowhere near as good as Travis, thought he would've went junior.
  19. I would imagine the players that have been on trial during pre season, they will need to have a look at them in a game situation before offering them a deal unless they showed up unbelievably well in training. Should get more news next week.
  20. David Sinclair has been training with us, midfielder I think. Would also imagine Dougie Hill is on the radar of most part time clubs.
  21. McGurn has signed for Cowdenbeath I have heard so thats not happening, I can see our GK being a loan. Hopefully hear something soon.
  22. Pre Season training starts this week I have heard, hopefully news of some more signings and maybe some trialists taking part. Also heard Aberdeen confirmed for a friendly, apologies if this has already been posted.
  23. I wouldnt think there was any chance of Josh returning, he will probably stay FT. You would imagine the bottom half of the championship / most of league 1 sides would want him.
  24. I think it has to be a misquote saying Hamilton is a winger, Left CB or Left Back. Signing Stoney for 6 months pretty much rules out Campbell jnr I would think.
  25. He pretty much made it impossible for Dick to keep him with a string of clangers. Be interesting to see who we bring in.
