  1. Hylton and Bird have been very good signings and Norey as little as he has played has been excellent whenever he has featured. If we had to bring in a large amount of trialists to get three signings of this quality then so be it. I still to this day, do not get the big meltdown / negative reaction to it all. Albeit I must admit I don't really go to pre season games, by all account we had some shite playing who were all quite rightly sent packing.
  2. That's an absolute howler from Hamilton, thought at the time it was but my mate convinced me it wasn't. Its so tight at the bottom, literally one win can make a difference, I didn't see Morton and Raith being much better than us, whilst its two crushing defeats, I don't think there is a decent team below Partick in third that we cannot beat or take points from there.
  3. THuoght Jacobs had a good game, almost ridiculed on here at times, showed last night he was up for it and put in a power of work
  4. If we get that effort and type of performance we’ll be hanging in there all season.
  5. They’ve both been poor. We actually looked stronger when Stewart was at left back
  6. I think McIntyre needs to realise that Little is now at the end of his career, his legs are slowing down and is now getting injured more. Hammy needs to be cut a bit slack, he has been out for a long time. O'Brien has been nowhere near his 2020/2021 form and also picking up injuries.
  7. Cant see us picking anything up tonight given the form of both teams, just want to see plenty effort, work rate and attitude from the players and maybe some sort of plan to stay in the game and frustrate Raith, they seem to be conceding a few goals so thats something for us to expolit.
  8. We have 20 signed players with 2 on loan. I would suggest that would be 1 possibly 2 short of a normal part time squad. You cant go and sign 24/25 players at part time level, 1. you cant keep 12/13 boys of a decent standard happy every week when they are not playing and 2. I would imagine it would not be the best use of our budget. The bottom line is we have been very unlucky with injuries but the issue McIntyre has is there are 4 or 5 players in the squad who are just not championship standard, he will have to move them on in January and we are all very hopeful he brings in some decent replacements. Whilst we were shite last season, it was bringing in solid signings in Dow, Hetherington, the irish lad at full back that helped us stay up.
  9. I suspect he’ll be looking at better players than Balde
  10. Think people forgetting how awful Balde was at the start of the season.
  11. I’ve watched a lot of games in the championship and can safely say when you’re battling like hell to stay up and pick up every point possible I don’t think 4-4-2 works. As has been stated, full time fitter and sharper teams will blow us away in yhe middle of the pitch. Hopefully McIntyre sees this.
  12. yeah Josh Campbell a very poor example, he didnt do anything at all during his time with us to think he would go on to do as well as he has. Whether he was playing in the right position or not. I think all this gets totally over thought and over played, like most clubs we have had around a 50% success rate with loans, some work out, some don't. Mangers cant win, if we have 4 or 5 loans playing, everyone moans that "they are not our players" and then this season the moan is "why dont we have any fucking loans" Need to get the balance right, lets hope mcintyre does this in Jan.
  13. well you don't know the players he had a hand in recruiting and the players he didn't so pretty hard to say if he did a good job or not, I think it was worth a try, recruitment is now on McIntyre so we will see how it goes.
  14. I think the loan market has changed due to the prem teams going with smaller squads and the addition of 5 subs and listing 9 on the bench. Think there are 4 or 5 clubs in the Prem that have B teams. There is also the fact that it can be a mixed bag, wighton, virtanen, williamson and the two hamiltons and obvsiously Nouble were all very good, but in recent times, we have also had hancock, michael ruth, harrison clark, bitsindou, there was another lad from Livvy who were simply not good enough to play in our team. Its a hit or a miss. Despite that I can definitely see McIntyre bringing in a couple on loan, they have to be better than what we have, pointless having loans as bench warmers.
  15. Yeah I agree, I think Sellars was a board appointment and answered to the board. I may be wrong, I think his job was to advise players to the management team.
  16. He has appointed his own assistant and will use the sports scientist lad that was appointed in the summer I would imagine, Malcolm leaving was always going to happen, bit unfair on him to take the blame for the last 6 weeks, he would've been taking warm ups and a few training drills, not picking the team or setting it up. Good luck to the guy, bit unfortunate that he left a job to come to us but that's football.
  17. I am not sure Sellars was a Campbell appointment, I believe he was scouting along with Craig Ireland and I cant recall the other name involved, that's how any decent club should be ran. They would be out watching the opposition and trying to identify players to come in, slater, stowe and steele sound like they fitted into the mould of being scouted by this set up. Jury is out on all of those players, again, not sure if Sellars was involved in the mass trialists from Engand and timbuktu in the summer, but we did manage to get Hylton and Bird in who in the main have been pretty good. It may be that the board have ripped this up or that McIntyre has simply decided he wants to do it all himself. Its just another thing that has changed, time will tell if it works. You would think he will bring in a couple of players he has worked with before in January with the inevitable loans.
  18. 4-4-2 with our current players with wide men would be suicidal, would maybe work in some sort of diamond
  19. A very ordinary appointment but given our predicament, it was around what I expected. It's his first time managing part time, I don't care what anyone says, its a massive difference. I am not too sure this type of appointment will be much of a change but good luck to the guy and welcome aboard Jim. Noticed some saying he is a young manager, he is 51
  20. Calum Davidson is the man for me. McIntyre I am not so sure about, seems to have done fairly well though so maybe wouldn't be the worst. We are where we are, it will be the dogfight of all dogfights with not one team isolated so it will be tough job and the new many will have a short period to get at least 3 or4 players in next month. Our current squad would probably be in the bottom 2 especially with the bad luck with injuries.
  21. Not sure what the lad does for a job, but he wont lose his job as a footballer, even if we were to punt him, he would get picked up almost straight away.
  22. Was Swankie drink driving? I’ve no time for it either. Nobody should get behind a wheel after having a drink
  23. Balde caught drunk driving it seems. Maybe why he was let go. Was told a few weeks ago he had a few issues
