  1. Aye, McLean was giving it big licks at the final whistle and directing his celebrations at (I think) Kerr Young, and the Bonnyrigg players to exception to it. The Bonnyrigg boys were time wasting and indulging in a bit of gamesmanship throughout, which is completely understandable if you're a goal up in a game and fighting for your lives. But I don't think Pabs was overly impressed. Must've been a sore one to take for Bonnyrigg to lose the game so late on, but seems a bit cringey to then spit the dummy out at the final whistle because the Albion are celebrating, especially given Bonnyrigg's gamesmanship up to that point.
  2. I thought Cammy was decent as well, and KR clearly rated him which is why he was our number one last season ahead of Currie. But when it comes to deciding whether to stay with the club or not, perhaps he thought he had to move on after daft comments from the Chairman who called him out personally for a mistake he made (https://www.stirlingalbionfc.co.uk/inside-the-box-stranraer-1-may-2021/). Brown's comment was ill-judged and singling out Binnie was harsh, especially given the way the whole team was playing at the end of last season. Personally I don't think the chairman should be criticising the players. If the manager really wants to have a go at the players then by all means go ahead, as that's his remit to manage them. But for the Chairman to be criticising the players doesn't send out a great message. And I think Cammy's performances across the season had almost certainly saved us more points than he'd cost us. It's also been mentioned on this thread already (pages 161 and 162) that Cammy may have turned down a new contract, so maybe the decision over which keeper to let go wasn't ours to make. Either way I'm glad to see he's doing well, as he always came across a good lad whenever he spoke.
  3. The Government, and their spokespeople, use social media as much as anyone to communicate their messages, so I really don't think they'd be in any rush to close it down, regardless of the damage conspiracy theorists and science-deniers do on there.
  4. I really hope McCracken is ok, looked a nasty injury. Was a reasonably entertaining game up until that point. The clubs have said the game was abandoned because of the condition of the pitch: https://twitter.com/StenhousemuirFC/status/1345399987019067392?s=20
  5. This season, maybe. But we've been pumped out by Lothian Thistle Hutchie Vale and Devronvale in recent times, as well as taking a mammoth penalty shootout to beat Hurlford. So maybe it's just QP who'll feel reasonably confident of winning
  6. Thought your highlights package was brilliant. And as Francesc says above, the replays and close-ups were great. I actually enjoyed how biased the commentators were, exactly what I'd want to hear if I was a Stranraer fan.
  7. There wasn't too much in the game yesterday and like most of the other posters here I thought it was headed for a 0-0. We probably had the better chances, but it was Cowden's defensive mix-up on the halfway line that presented Byrne with his chance, which I thought he took really well. Showed great composure. I thought Munro was really decent in goal for Cowden yesterday. Sharp off his line numerous times and his save from Andy Ryan's point blank header was excellent.
  8. Pretty much this. Rovers looked decent, to the point where Cammy Binnie had to make a couple of brilliant saves and also be sharp off his line to clear the danger a few times. But we had enough chances, especially at the start of the second half, to win the game. And that's before Andy Ryan hit the under-side of the bar too. On the balance of play I think it was a fair result and good to get back to winning ways after a poor result against Elgin last week. I enjoyed the commentary and thought the two lads were entertaining. Just about made up for the sketchy pixellot camera work.
  9. Enjoyed this guys, cheers. Do you have a podcast? Would be good to listen to, but couldn't find anything on iTunes.
  10. Great stuff! Shout out Ben, Stuart and everyone else involved for getting this going. Looking forward to Tuesday now!
  11. I agree with the point you've made that clubs should try to make games more welcoming for everyone. But I don't think fans should just accept getting searched. As you've mentioned - it's inconsistent, in terms of who's searched and in comparison to other lower league matches. It's also inconsistent with games held at the same stadium that would probably be classed as higher risk (Scotland games and non-old firm Scottish Cup semis and finals). I think fans should use their voices to (constructively) feedback their concerns about QP's search policy. Whether that's to stewards on the day (who can hopefully let their bosses know), by by contacting the club directly, or by speaking to the club's fans/club members on forums. I appreciate getting searched isn't a concern for you, but again as you mention, it may put others off. Which is ultimately what QP don't want to do!
  12. Exactly. Fans should just accept being treated like this. And clubs should never aspire to make football an inviting , welcoming place to go. We, as fans, should just shut up and not "make a tit of ourselves", amarite Ben?
  13. From reading the article, this isn't about gambling addiction though. Hester is being charged with committing fraud. I agree, gambling is a huge problem in football. Especially with our governing bodies happy to take coin from these bookmakers with one hand, while punishing players for gambling with the other. But gambling addiction and breaking Scottish football rules isn't what Hester's charge is about. It's about committing fraud. "Hester, 24, Brodie Myers, 26, Calvin Parrott, 24, and Findlay Soutar, 23, face a charge of obtaining money through the formation of a fraudulent scheme"
  14. Really?! Sutherland was the one constantly dropping deep between our defence and midfield and linking up play. Jordan and McLean didn't know whether to go with him or let him go and weren't helped out much by our poor midfield. Then they were caught when he ran off them for his goal. That's before we even get to the embarrassment of watching him run the length of the park with the ball from the right back position from our corner! (I know Danny and Creaney were booked so couldn't haul him down, but still!) I'm really disappointed with how we played today. After 3 great away wins we didn't even start playing until we were 2 goals down. Bikey and Heaver were industrious when they came on and we managed to pull a goal back. But our midfield were poor and we lacked a bit of width with Max Wright often drifting in field. I think Elgin probably deserved their win, despite our pressure in the last 15/20mins. A poor day at the office.
  15. How does/will the fighting fund work? Is the cash added straight to the manager's budget to spend as he pleases, or does it need some sort of board/committee sign-off?
  16. Has the Beautiful Sunday forum gone the same way as the Rave On one?
  17. This! His free kick against Morton was one of my favourites. Even though we didn't win the league that year, the play-offs were brilliant and he played a big part in that with his two goals against Airdrie in the second leg.
  18. This! I live in Glasgow and look to go to games in town when I can't make the Albion game. QP is often a last resort purely because of the points an86 has mentioned. The thought of going to a game at Lesser is much more appealing and it'd be good to see QP try to capitalise on this.
  19. Ex-Stenny and Stirling Albion keeper Chris Smith played in goal for Annan against us the other week, so I'd imagine it was him again
  20. Are you new to Scottish lower league football? You know how our clubs work, right?
  21. Why are fans searched at Hampden for QP games? We were searched last season when we came through, but I wasn't searched when going in for the Scotland games last week.
  22. First league win of the season. A clean sheet. And climbing off the foot of the table. What a time to be alive!
  23. Having seen how we played for large parts of the game against Albion Rovers the other week, I fancy us to cause Elgin some problems. And with Bikey in the team, I'm hoping this is the week we finally get our first win on the board.
