  1. Ouch! Yes, but we were spread out over 3 stands and after all we are only a Championship side
  2. That can’t be McDiarmid Park. It looks like there could be three stands full of home supporters.
  3. Surely McDaid will be dropped for this one? I can’t remember the last time he had a decent game for us, yet he appears to be one if the first names on the team sheet.
  4. Spot on TCM. I was at Ibrox when he got the injury. Studs caught in the grass. Such a shame, yet he was never bitter about it. Off the top of my head the only players around that time that I can think of that could match his ability to read the game were Ray Wilkins and Willie Miller. Good company indeed.
  5. Absolutely agree with you there. I thought he may be too slow but so far he seems to have read the game very well which helps to compensate for any lack of pace.
  6. I guess it’s all down to how you view things. Beating the bottom two teams in the league is not something I’m going out my way to praise McPake for as it is the very least that I expect. As I alluded to , I will reserve judgement until after we have played teams near the top of the league because what I’ve seen against these types of teams so far this season has not impressed me.
  7. I don’t want to dampen the mood but the last couple of games have been against the bottom two teams who have lost the most games in the league so far. Looking ahead the games against Arbroath, Ayr, ICT and Dunfermline will give us a much better idea of exactly how good or otherwise we actually are.
  8. ^^^^at last, we’ve found a United fan on here that wasn’t at the Doon Derby.
  9. Not much to brag about if we do win - “we’ve won the derby, you’ve (comfortably) won the league.” Yep, you’re right, sounds like the sort of game we will win.
  10. McDaid only usually puts in one decent cross a match, so not much to worry about there. Our best bet for a goal is a ball played over the top for Hemmings to run onto.
  11. Shankland showing once again why no club will ever put in a big money bid for him, despite the hype coming from a Tannadice.
  12. Thistle’s front line were unbelievably slow and laboured. I will reserve judgement until I see Forster, Berra and Meekings up against a pacey attack.
  13. They probably heard that strikers who have proved themselves at this level are worth at least £4 million.
  14. This isn’t going to be popular but for me McPake shows no signs of improving. From what I’ve seen he appears to lack passion, tactical awareness and motivational skills. If we finish in the play off spots it will have more to do with the utter dross in this league and our apparent significantly higher budget. One or two fellow fans I’ve spoken to are getting a bit carried away with the win on Saturday against perhaps the worse team I’ve seen at Dens in a long time. I’ve yet to really enjoy a league games at Dens this season, so if it’s more of the same stuff on offer next season I doubt I would be renewing my season ticket.
  15. It could be worse. We could be able to see what’s actually happening on the pitch.
  16. Quick prediction. Dundee to dominate the first 15 minutes or so. McCall will switch formation to cancel out Dundee. McPake won’t know how to respond and Thistle will dominate the rest of the match.
  17. Definitely the early 90s given the number of stonewash jeans on display. Surely the advertising board for Younger’s Tartan Special must have been there from the 70s though?
  18. A cup forum in February that involves Dundee? You started early this weekend Tam?
  19. I disagree with you there. Nelms must know that McPake is his third managerial mistake in a row. If he sacks McPake that would be a public confirmation of the fact. If, however, McPake is found guilty it would allow Nelms to sack McPake ( at no cost to the club) for bringing the club into disrepute, whilst still claiming he was sure McPake’s appointment would have worked out if he had been given time.
  20. To be fair to Kerr which manager do we think was good for his development? McCann, McIntyre, McPake? We have had very few players of late that have flourished and improved. That can’t be a coincidence. Wighton has started well under Dick Campbell at Arbroath. I genuinely don’t think that would have been the case if he had came back to Dens to work with McPake.
  21. You mean like the reason McPake was kept on at the club after his injury, put through his badges, given the Under 21 coaches post and then given the top job?
  22. How about we make flyers and on the 10th minute we hold them up and sing “WE WANT MCPAKE OUT, SAY WE WANT MCPAKE OUT”. We can do this for precisely 2 minutes. We should then break into a roaring crescendo making as much noise as possible.
  23. So, a keeper, centre half, left back and right back? If we draw every game 0-0 until the end of the season should that be enough to keep us safe?
  24. How are clubs with a much smaller budget able to cover all positions properly?* I would have happily let Dorrans go to free up cash. * They manage their budget properly and build a balanced team.
