  1. Reading the match preview on the website today; totally forgot about the 3-2 cup game a couple of years ago! I take it that goalie who had the game of his life is no longer at the club? It'll be just out luck for him to still be there and do the same again, or his replacement to step up for the best game of his career too... Always better to get your excuses in early. Although, what kind of a ramshackle top-seeded in their League Cup group club would lose to a team only in the senior league for such a short length of time?????
  2. 1. Celtic 2. "Rangers" 3. Hearts 4. Aberdeen 5. Hibs 6. Motherwell 7. St Mirren 8. Livi 9. Killie 10. St Johnstone 11. Dundee 12. Ross County
  3. Dumbarton & ICT tickets bought too. Just need to find a shop that sells sombreros now...
  4. Excuse me, I take great exception to that. We have 2 diddy Mexicans to get invested in, thank you...
  5. If the pre-match and half-time music isn't entirely Mariachi, then questions must be asked about the DJ's future at the club...
  6. Tickets for Bonnyrigg on sale today, got mine and raring to go... (Pre-season enthusiasm usually lasts until about half-time in the first league game, so am riding that train for all its worth just now.)
  7. It's clearly a very busy day at work today, as I found this little titbit on the club's Wikipedia page - is this common knowledge? (In season 1902–1903 Dundee allowed 12 league goals against, which remains the fewest goals conceded by any British club in a full league season.) In typical Dundee fashion, we still managed to lose the league by 6 points...
  8. Looking forward to a trip to Bonnyrigg - any idea when we might see ticket details??? Their website says "Dundee will announce sales of their ticket allocation in due course."
  9. Fixtures out tomorrow morning: am predicting we will start off at home to Killie or St Mirren. Celtic will get a home game against Livi or Ross County and sevco will be away in Edinburgh or Aberdeen for the first fixture.
  10. Apparently our old rumour mill favourite Macaulay Bonne has been released. Never knew how seriously to ever take the rumours before, but you never know...
  11. Do you think that, with his former Aberdeen days in mind, the Doc will be looking at some of the players released by the sheep today? Always thought McLennan was meant to be the next big thing???
  12. We've always got other diddy teams we can loan players to; The Fermers were happy to get one of our cast-offs last season, for example... Seriously, though, I would be wanting Finn to make his big breakthrough this season. Am also hoping for Fisher & Max to re-sign as well, as that would be 5 academy players signed up with first team experience to give us a strong platform to build upon.
  13. Pity not to have the Bonnyrigg game at the weekend, but good to see that Viaplay know the best way to finish the group stages is with the Box Office Dees on the telly...
  14. I take it we have to pay some kind of development fee/compensation to Albion Rovers for Reilly? Any idea how much?
  15. Any talk of McGhee in central midfield can get right in the bin.
  16. Away trip to Bonnyrigg will be a nice addition to my list of grounds visited. Airdrie is a shitehole, so will give that a miss. Fairly meh group, I suppose we might get the ICT game on the telly. Presume the DABS v Patrick and the Fife derby will be shown, not sure what else???
  17. I hope the new Head of Recruitment can make a real difference. It can be pretty deflating when clubs like Livi, 'Well, St Murren etc can bring in players from lower leagues down south or abroad and get players like Van Veen, Nouble, Baccus etc and we get Roarie Deacon and Joe Grayson (apologies for bringing back such terrible memories for my fellow Dees...)
  18. If those are the groups, I'd like to see QP again, as well as some places I've never been, or seen us play against - Annan, East Fife & Kelty would do nicely.
  19. Was getting ready to laugh heartily at Raith for paying actual cash money for Jack Hamilton (who would be so dumb as to do that??!!), but then realised it's the other one you mean...
