  1. Ok, that’s it confirmed that 5th place will guarantee a European spot, so let’s get on with trying to secure it…
  2. Cunning plan there. However, you forgot one important thing: one of our games is against Kilmarnock, so that’s a nailed-on 2-2. Sorry to mess up your wet dream…
  3. Unless you read the BBC website preview, who insist on telling us that Lee Ashcroft will miss out through injury…
  4. I'm going to miss this now, so is there any chance that there will be somewhere in Dublin city centre that will be showing this live? Don't even know if you get UK Sky Sports in Ireland? I presume it won't be difficult to find people who want us to win (although not out of any love for Dundee, I would guess), but don't know if it's likely to be a major draw there...
  5. I presume all this stuff about alternatives being in place for the 17th won't be needed is the top 6 if sorted out tomorrow?
  6. I get the feeling that, if it were at all possible, we would be given 5 away games post-split, no matter which half we end up in...
  7. From what I've been told - looking like one sexy MF...
  8. We’ve definitely played Killie twice at home already this season. We are due a second home game against: Celtic, Hibs, St Johnstone, St Mirren, Livingston, Aberdeen.
  9. Forgot to add, Donnelly was absolutely terrible today. Thought he’d been ok the early part of the season, but was shocking today.
  10. Absolutely predictable that we can’t hold on to a lead. We try and sit back and never, ever fucking works. Motherwell had a game plan of hitting long balls to Bair and we just couldn’t deal with it. Doc should have been changing things long before bringing on Robinson in the 95th minute. Boateng or Robertson to stiffen up the middle after the penalty, Robinson on much earlier to give an extra bit of pace up front and chasing the over hit balls we insisted on playing all game. Knowing us, we’ll get a point off the blue bigots now, then arse it up at Pittodrie next week…
  11. My proposed solution is a lot easier: Let all clubs spend whatever they want. At the start of each season, for every £1 million the club is in debt at the end of the previous financial period, they start the new season with -1 point. Man City, Chelsea or Bigot Brothers of any colour can spend what they like, knowing the consequences for the new season. Any team not filing financial results on time is punted into the sea.
  12. I'll take the hit and start this match thread. Potential for Dundee to claim top 6 status (!) if results go our way, or could Motherwell start their late charge into the sunlit uplands of another home match against one of the Bigot Brothers? As indicated by the topic tag, there's also the distinct possibility of another postponement if the rain keeps up, which would go down very well at SPFL HQ, I'm sure...
  13. As mentioned above, the split is basically a way of saying that there will only ever be two winners of the league as a whole, so it gives others something else to play for. However, there is no doubt that it does create extra excitement at this stage of the season, and also increases the importance of the final 5 games when the bottom six are all playing each other every week. I don't think it has ever happened, but there is the remote possibility that the bottom 7 could only be separated by a couple of points at this stage, and one team would escape any chance of relegation by being 3 points clear with 5 games to go, but that's the only real disadvantage I can see. The only possible addition would be adding in a play-off if the top of the bottom 6 finished with more points that the last team that qualified for Europe through league position only. A one-off game at the top 6 team for the last Euro place, just so the team in 7th doesn't necessarily have nothing to play for and could down tools against teams fighting to avoid relegation/play-off place. It's a flawed system, but probably about as good as we can hope for...
  14. Almost don't want to post this, for fear of jinxing it, but I believe that a Dundee win on Saturday, coupled with a Hibs loss, would secure top 6 for us.
  15. Due to a convoluted series of circumstances, I eventually bought a ticket for this, but now can’t go. Anyone who wants a ticket for behind the goal, DM me and it’s yours….
  16. Was going to go through for this, but my record of watching us at the Tractordome is pretty poor. Will happily sacrifice the in-person experience for 3 points and another step on our top 6 journey...
  17. I can't shake the feeling that we will, of course, have picked a company that has no idea what they are doing, or are about to go into receivership next week. It's the Dundee way...
  18. Don't have the time/aptitude to do the graphical representation of it so here goes: Love - Dundee Soft spot for (except when playing Dundee) - Stirling Albion, Annan Athletic, Arbroath, Forfar Athletic, Montrose Meh - everyone else, except... Would happily see them losing every week - St Johnstone, Airdrieonians, Livingston, Ross County, Hamilton Academical Detest with a passion - Celtic, Rangers, Dundee Utd
  19. Nah, Tony Doc is rubbish - no tactical understanding, no man-management skills, no ability in regards to player recruitment - you wouldn't want him. Just let him remain where he is just now and let him be some other club's problem...
