Most of the points you make on this subject are pretty good but you seem to be repeatedly calling for the league to do something about this when it really isn’t their role to. Something like what you suggest is a great idea but it’s one that would be down to the individual clubs to organise not the league. I suppose what the league could do is maybe announce Rape Crisis Scotland or similar as an official charity partner and use their social media platforms to share educational material but I don’t think they can really comment on the situation directly.

Unless my math is wildly off, you get £5k for every million. The solidarity fee is 5% of the total transfer fee, you lot get a 10% cut of that 5% as he was with you during the season of his 23rd birthday although he was only there for half a season so I’m not sure if that then gets split again with Celtic?

Kieron Bowie went out on loan about a month ago so you can tick that one off

Yeah I’ve had nothing yet. If I’ve not heard anything by Wednesday I’ll give the club a call, totally understand that there’s been a change behind the scenes with Davey, who I’m sure used to be responsible for sorting stuff like this, leaving but they’ve had my coin for about a month now so some sort of update would have been nice. I’ll let you know what they say if I do need to call.

Realistically what could the league come out and say about something like this? I wouldn’t know anything about their registration rules and policies etc but is there likely to be anything in there to actually prevent a club signing him if they wanted to? Ultimately any club that does sign him will have to deal with the deserved backlash that comes from it but I’m not sure any league would have grounds to reject the registration.

Just having a read through the thread and seems to be a number of people suggesting that McGeady will be looking to take Bullens job or that they’ll fall out etc. I would imagine that McGeady wouldn’t be at Ayr if he didn’t have a decent relationship with Bullen, they would have worked together at Sheffield Wednesday, admittedly only short term, but will both know what the other is like from that time.

I was expecting us to play some sort of 352 this season but with 3 defenders who would be starters every week out, it looked a bit random today. Williamson, Quinn and Towler were our only 3 defenders in the squad today.

I assume that just like every other time we fail to win a game, this will be the refs fault? Anyone able to shed any light on how we actually lined up today? Difficult to work it out based on that team line.

He also looked very poor in pre season I thought. Kerr, Dillon, Towler and Quinn should have been 4 decent options at the back for this season but I can’t help but feel we could maybe use someone else in there now.

The number 4 will have been Aidan Quinn who I’ve been quite critical of during pre season but was given our man of the match at the weekend against St Mirren, another game that I didn’t make due to the joys of being out my nut on painkillers! Towler was wearing the number 18 apparently and I would imagine looking at the lineup will have played left back.

Didn’t make the game tonight, any positives at all to take other than a goal for Kane? How did Towler look in his debut?

I’ve been openly critical of Aidan Quinn based on what I’ve seen of him in pre season but just seen that he was given man of the match today and I’m glad he’s made me look like a dick.

Wasn’t there today by everything I’m hearing is backing up my claim the other week that we’re winning the quadruple.

I’m not even entirely sure if it’s the perceived difference in colour that makes me dislike them, I just think it would like a lot nicer if it was all mint with navy sleeves and trim although I doubt a Montrose fan is their target market so my opinion on it means very little.

I believe Adam Hutchinson was signed for Montrose to play right back, Matty Allan can cover there at a push and I’m sure Mark Whatley covered there for Arbroath too. I won’t pretend to be an expert on the make up of your squad but if you already have at least 4 players who can cover that position it would surely be madness for any part time club to sign another to play there.

I know that hindsight is a wonderful thing but I can’t but feel Ross Sinclair will leave and prove to be a much better goalkeeper than anyone else you’ll bring in over the next 5 years or so.

It’s not something I can remember us doing off the top of my head before, if it’s allowed us to bring in a bit of extra cash I’m all for it. Another 90 minutes yesterday for the fella, not that I’ve been all that impressed with him.

I always find goalkeepers to a be a bit of a weird one to judge in terms of how able they are to step up and I also didn’t make a huge amount of Montrose games last season but he looked good any time I did see him. Quite often goalies will drop down and actually look like a young lad on loan but never ever had that feeling with him.
