  1. Doesn’t seem to be much information on your club website unless I’m missing it, what’s the script with your hospitality packages? I can see that it appears to be at a pub near the ground but anyone know what it tends to include, prices and most importantly, if they’re welcoming or away fans?
  2. We’ve did one of those signing things, Luke Graham, centre back from Dundee. Watched him against Buckie in the challenge cup and he looked fairly solid although Buckie were absolutely pish. Sure he’s quite highly rated and was linked with some decent sized teams down south recently.
  3. Postie although it looks like for that to happen I’m going to have to grow up and learn to drive.
  4. Not really bothered about him leaving, especially if we’re getting some money out of it. I think our squad is best suited to playing 1 up top now anyway and it removes the problem of which of the 2 of him and Hester to play.
  5. From what I gather, Waddell and Towler will be out until the end of September at least, Steeves is out for 3 weeks and Dillon is fine was subbed off to change shape.
  6. Seems unlikely, surely if they were paying all of his wages and his contract runs until the end of the season they would just sign him rather than loan him?
  7. It’s easy to ask “why did we let them go” however I don’t think many people had any objections to any of them leaving, Matty Allan being the only one I can remember anyone mentioning although the chat was that we had offered him a deal. Hindsight being the wonderful thing that it is though I’d argue that all 3 of them would be starters just now. We have creative players in the squad, the problem is that we’re currently shoehorning all of them in to a system that doesn’t suit them to allow us to play the 2 up top. The management team have done more than enough to deserve the chance to sort it out but we are having to massively rely on the loan market again this season, I’d be a bit concerned going in to next season where we’re probably looking at our biggest rebuild for a good number of years.
  8. Steeves out for 3 weeks, Waddell and Towler expected back at the end of September. Seems that taking Dillon off was tactical rather than him having picked up any kind of injury which is a bonus at least. Liam Callaghan is a player that I expected to leave in the summer and would not have been disappointed to see that happening but him being back in training is a bonus, hardly a spectacular player but if we can get him back soon it’s another body in a position where we’re seriously struggling at the moment.
  9. My pre season positivity has dwindled already. I don’t think Petrie is anywhere near being in danger of losing his job but unless he can pull something out of the hat and bring in the bodies required to improve this squad it’s gonna be a long season. Concerning to see both Steeves and Dillon go off today, if they’re gonna be out for any length of time, that leaves us with Williamson and Quinn as our only natural defenders just in time to play Hamilton and Queens.
  10. What’s the story with Evan Towler? Can’t remember seeing anything about him being injured?
  11. Hasn’t even got a Lowland League club, Johnstone Burgh apparently.
  12. I take it Hearts have just abandoned any plans to try and pretend that Naismith isn’t the manager?
  13. About the most boring draw for a Montrose fan, team in the same league and quite a boring away day anyway.
  14. Ah yes that famous club Forest Green Rangers
  15. I’ll try not to be too negative as I’ve never seen the boy play but a natural wide player who can cover in the middle seems on paper to be the last thing we need at the moment.
  16. Hope you’re having an enjoyable evening @citydiehard
  17. The real question here, and I’m disappointed that it hasn’t been asked already, is how did you manage to ask this if you weren’t able to make an account?
  18. Jimmy Plimsoles is Paul Hartley who is still clearly bitter about his time at Falkirk. Anyway, what’s the story with Iain Vigurs? Injured, one of the players you’re trying to move on or both? I’ve had a suspicion that we may end up in for him, we need at least another body in midfield, I believe he’s good pals with Michael Gardyne and will have played with Rory McAllister and whilst I’m not sure where he’s based now he is from Stonehaven so is a relatively local boy.
  19. 9 years of waiting for your first post and my word it’s a beauty, great work.
  20. Always makes me chuckle any time someone even attempts to suggest that Petrie is in trouble. Whilst I still think there’s questions over his squad building over the last couple of seasons, it would take a ridiculously bad set of circumstances for us to sack him anytime soon.
