Well, thank goodness that’s over!
As for the performance, it wasn’t great, especially the first 45 minutes, but we were far better over the second period.
I was surprised we dropped Mullin for Vaughan in the wide right position, and I’m not sure it really worked, in fact, I really think it made us poorer.
Dabrowski had a very good first half, but I do think he makes comfortable saves look good and good saves look great, which in fairness, I’m fine with.
The fact we now have a substitutes bench that can come in and change the game is amazing, and that’s exactly what happened today.
Fair play too to the the woman who went sprinting as we scored the winner, fell arse over tit in front of me, and as I helped her up she said, “I’m really sorry, that’s my son”
I hope she’s okay, but god bless her son
well done Mrs Gullan

Agyeman playing a central role behind striker really. I think Mcglynn has maybe correctly identified tracking back and positional awareness is not his strong suit
That’s not Ross’s strong point either

Ethan Ross shipped on loan to Falkirk until Jan.
Never seen that coming - wtf!?
Big earner, who only had limited game time off the books for a few months

Him running passed the raith bench after the winner with a cheeky hand up to his ear is quality. Murray seemed to take it well in the post match interview though.
To be honest Murray has been right to bench him as he’s been the poorest of the front 4 this season.
Great to see him back scoring though.

3 points from Raith incoming to save Dodds

12 corners and no goals conceded
wonder how the ‘we always lose goals from set pieces’ brigade are getting on tonight

If the Rovers went on and won the Scottish Cup in 2019 or indeed got promoted in 2021, I would care more about those beatings. Because nothing materialistic was achieved, it has faded in to the ether.
2011 though…
Same with 99/00 as well actually. We got promoted that year despite no wins against Raith and taking a tanking at Starks. Raith stayed down and got relegated not long after.
It’s a bit like 94/5 when you guys pumped us 5-2 and we won the double

Feel for big Kev, a victim of the anti handsome brigade.

Brown and Byrne coming off absolutely ruined it for us. Newell did really well for Hibs when he was subbed on. Very much a case of fine margins. I didn't even catch much of the second goal but it looked like a nuke. Every reason to be optimistic going forward.
All the best to Hibs in the rest of the competition. There was a great degree of respect by them playing such a strong team.
Byrne is class, was less effective after his booking, for which Vaughan sold him down the River.

Wasn't at the game but listened to it with RTV and it sounded like another lapse in concentration from a set piece that decided the game
Considering the number of set pieces we faced, by the law of averages we had to a ‘lapse in concentration’ at one of them

Smith hit the bar 2nd half and didn’t get involved in an off the ball spat with Ben Williamson, he also played more minutes.

Doolans fault against a piss poor raith side. cantering to a win then raised the white flag! Alston was beige.
Good managers take the heat of their players.
Every thistle player thought the game was won and dropped their work rate.
Rather than throw his players under a bus, Doolan takes the blame.

Yeah Williams was miles away from the ball, it was dangerous and obvious contact to the head. I suppose the only counter argument is that he got his header away unimpeded and you see similar with sliding challenges after a player has shot but was a penalty for me.
He looked a bomb scare all game tbh,

That was a great game, despite being 2 down - kudos for Thistle exploiting Dick being off the pitch after a head knock for the second - we created chances.
Great to see Ross on and delivering for both goals, Vaughan was poor IMO again. But we do need a right back, most of the goals we’ve lost so far are from errors at Right Back.

Folk have a mental idea of what the players earn. Do you honestly think we don’t have players on £45k a year? That’s a little over £850 a week.
The majority of the squad will be on at least that amount.
If that’s the basic wage, before any bonus or add ons (appearance fees, win bonus etc) then yes I would be concerned.
if it includes all of the above then I’d be more relaxed.0 -

55k pays a players wages for the season or 2 or 3 loanees
Would be concerned if we have even 1 player on wages within 10k a year of this.
regarding the prize money have Viaplay already coughed this up to the SPFL ?

Loved watching us so far this season, the McGlynn passing for the sake of passing is gone and it’s been replaced by quick ball all the time.
Annan played some tidy football, really liked their willingness to pass and move from deep.

Was it 5 for the match overall? I can remember 4 - Annan had a great effort come off the bar and then about a minute later had a back post header which flicked off the join of post and bar on the way over the top. Easton has hit the bar and Hamilton has hit the post. Was there one more?
We had at least 4, the 2 you mention.
Mullin had a shot saved on toy the post second half and Vaughan hit the post 1st half too.
