Should be an absolute nailed on 100% victory

    Which worries me

Why should it be a 100pc nailed on victory?

Still surprised at how many binos are under estimating your own very poor form.

Edinburgh are at home, have picked up 3x as many points as you have in last 3 games (okay it's only one win!). Stirling really struggling to score and pick up wins. 5/1 for an Edinburgh win is looking like a decent bet. Seen both teams recently and thought Edinburgh looked better, especially in the forward areas. They've been competitive in recent games.

I'm still really hoping you guys avoid 9th and we beat annan.

I forget the exact dimensions but ones wider and the others longer. Very slight difference in actual area.

That's really surprising, I hadn't even looked at dimensions thinking they were way different, but happy to stand corrected. I think it must be because every time I go to Alloa I'm sitting pretty much at ground level and at TFS sitting high up so like an optical illusion, our pitch looks really wide and Alloa's much tighter.

Funnily enough I feel we'll be ok here, despite their super run of form.

Alloa next week are giving me the Doom.

I'm more worried about the Annan game.

I think Alloa are a better side but with them potentially resting players and trying to avoid injuries, us at home, on a big pitch with a massive crowd I'm less concerned about that game if we can get through Annan unscathed.

Having said all of that I was at the last game at Brockville when we were unbeaten at home all season and we all remember how that went!

Re this game they have it all to play for, are at home, on really good form, seem to score goals, we have a bit of a makeshift centre pairing. I'm just hoping we get an early goal to settle the nerves, our attacking players give them a torrid time, and it's a professional job done, as it has been all season.

I haven’t got an issue with fans of other clubs coming to our games, as long as it doesn’t stop regulars getting tickets. My mate is a cream bun but comes to maybe 10 of our games a season, he has done this for years as his laddies are both Bairns fans. He also comes to hospitality with me when I go for the day out and it’s him who buys his laddies Falkirk tops when they come out. I’m no lover of either side of the ugly sisters but it’s money into the coffers and who knows some of them might see the light.

Pretty much my view @Harry Kinnear

The only 2 reasons I can think that we wouldn't want non regular fans to come to games are

    (1) they cause trouble - very unlikely

    (2) they take a more regular fans seat - won't/shouldn't happen

We should be encouraging as many non regulars as we can as often as we can. More fans means more atmosphere, bigger crowds, more money, more success and more likely to tempt players to our club.

Been covered before but there are loads of reasons people don't go to games regularly and to alienate them isn't sensible. Look at the amount of overseas guys on here who contribute to FSS etc as an example. People don't live locally, they get ill, they live away, they can't afford it, they become students, they have no-one to go with, they work shifts, they care for someone - there's literally a million reasons folks cant get to every/most games. My daughters had other commitments on Saturdays (after years of being season ticket holders) and only now are able to start getting back again to some games so people come and go dependant upon their life cycle. I get the feeling some of the folks that go on about "day trippers" on here are because they've lived in Falkirk all their lives and work 9-5 Monday to Friday. Great if that's the case but not everyone is in that position

  5. Slow to the party here but just realised you guys are now already able to advertise the play off games versus Hamilton given the league points and placings can't be caught. Interesting 4 fixtures you have coming up with Hamilton Falkirk Hamilton Hamilton!

Seen a lot of the wasps this year and really hope its either yourselves (or Montrose) that come up with us as opposed to Hamilton/Inverness/Q Park. you've been playing some good stuff with some decent players under Andy Graham.

Good luck for the rest of the season lads, with the exception of course to the cup winning/potential invincible game at TFS next week! Should be a cracker and great atmosphere.

Our average is 4,602 at the moment and will rise to approx 5.5k next season with home gates increasing by around 500 and another 4-500 away fans so sounds like they're pretty much spot on tbf

    Agreed @NavyBlueArmy1876.

Our home gate against Alloa in 2 weeks will be well over 7,000, bringing our average crowd in League 1 this season to over 4,750. Hardly inflation. This is with average away crowds of only 150.

In the Championship average away crowds will be significantly higher, especially given the rivalries with the Pars, Airdrie, Raith, Morton etc. If anything crowds next season of 5000-6000 is an underestimate, even if he is referring to this season as opposed to the potential of next season that's only inflation of 5%. Hardly being clueless about League 1. Some individual Falkirk games this season have hit the crowds stated of 5,000-6,000 (and more).

Despite 5 years of being served up despair, the Falkirk fans have stuck by the team, this, as a provincial club should be celebrated within the lower leagues. Many clubs, especially Montrose, who are rumoured to have made £40K at the title winning game would be in a far worse financial position without fans from clubs like ours making the effort to go to games.

  7. 100 tickets left for the North Stand (Alloa game). So looks like 7,000 home fans and over 7,000 if you include away fans.

This will sell out, probably by this coming weekend (unless another block is opened up). I can't see Alloa selling tickets yet so maybe we are holding back to see what is needed for home fans?

Still selling at an impressive 20-30 seats a day with just under 2 weeks to go. I can see another few reasons for an influx of sales - we don't lose to Annan, so the Invincibles for the season is on the hook for that day , end of the month pay day, folks who are unsure if they can make it at the moment being able to make it.

Excellent to get a result in the circumstances today.

Rode our luck a bit with them hitting the wood work but the players have been so good all season they deserve a bit of luck when they need it.

Tough 2 games ahead with a makeshift centre back pairing of Mackie and Henderson ahead but we are one step closer.

Yep these last two games will be tough.

Annans form is unbelievable given their position in the league (third over 10 games in league behind Hamilton and ourselves), they're playing for their lives and at home. They drew at ours too so that will give them belief.

Alloas form is also good, watching them on alba just now and they look very good. Hopefully it'll be a dead rubber for them and they'll be taking it easy for the play offs.

The annan game could be the tougher if the two especially with coll suspended. Hopefully Henderson and Mackie make it through the week and the game, not sure who the back up is without Lang and Donaldson if either of the other two get injured.

We're so close to a once in a lifetime achievement.

  9. Voted for Coll for GOTS. It was a bit of a different strike from the other ones and he had to thread it through the eye of a needle to hit the top corner.

Thought I'd be voting for one of Aidan Nesbitt's wonder goals this season but a few were missing from the list, that's been the challenge there have been so many great goals this season it was hard to get it down to a short list.

Only 188 tickets left for the North Stand now for the Alloa game. (804 sold in the NS)

I think the existing sections will definitely sell out, only 227 seats left now.

Imagine it would just require to be similar to the mickey mouse set up at Edinburgh. Someone with a handheld scanner at the corner exit gate to scan tickets, facilities wise maybe a burger van and a couple of portaloos? Not sure if that would be too much of a ball-ache for the club to organise though, assume it would need council approval as well who like all local authorities take about 804,000 years to respond to anything.

A more practical solution is probably to just maximise the seats available in the north stand by segregating it like in 2005. I reckon we could squeeze in another 604 Falkirk fans, and still have space for up to 306 Alloa fans, with the red seats unused. That would be enough imo

    Screenshot2024-04-17at17_24_31.thumb.png.633fc67c4b25d59b28c42eb233ba86ac.png

    Great problem to have.

Might be logistically safer/easier to give Alloa all of Block F, use all of Block E as a bigger buffer (and Alloas sole exit to toilets/catering and give us the extra Block D only.

That would give us another 357 seats to sell in addition to the 223 left in Blocks A-C - so 580 still to sell in the next 2 weeks or so. Tickets sales are starting to slow down slightly so maybe 35-40 a day is realistic from here on in.

As BIE mentioned earlier though there may be a further push for tickets for the invincible last game if we go unbeaten in the next 2 games, add into that once people get paid at the end of the month and waiting to see if they are available and can actually make it.

Don't think the club will want fans along the East side, I know its not that different from the likes of Edinburgh or Darvel, but safety certificates are probably required for something or other. Would be interesting though.

342 tickets left for the North Stand now, around 6,600 in total sold

Obviously we've already surpassed our highest home gate, but not many total attendances left to top now since we moved to the new stadium:

    7,926 vs Dundee Utd 16/17
    7,851 vs Hibs 15/16
    7,804 vs Sevco 15/16
    7,735 vs Hearts 14/15

    7,672 vs Hibs 14/15
    7,636 vs Kilmarnock 15/16
    7,492 vs Sevco 14/15
    7,488 vs Sevco 15/16

    7,279 vs Dunfermline 22/23
    7,081 vs Hibs 15/16
    7,049 vs Kilmarnock 09/10
    7,003 vs Hearts 14/15
    6,947 vs Dunfermline 10/11
    6,927 vs Sevco 14/15

Should be able to get by a few more of these I reckon. I've highlighted the games in red where the opposition were given the increased 3,400 allocation

For reference we had 7,300 for the last ever game at Brockville and trophy day vs Inverness in 02/03, though I believe that was sold out.

Good post. Thanks for the effort. Interesting that all teams listed are "big" teams you might expect to see on that list. To add Alloa, while in the 3rd tier is something else. The total sold above doesn't include the Alloa tickets sold either.

Edit to add - we only have 295 tickets left to sell in the North Stand now. Still selling very well.

Kelty should be on the beach next week and there's a good chance Alloa are resting players on the final day. That leaves Annan who are fighting for survival but looked like a complete gang recently, despite stealing a point. I'll be incredibly disappointed if we fall short now.

Agree, think Annan could be the toughest of the remaining 3 games. Their home form is second only to ours with 4 wins from their last 5 and as you say they have a lot to play for. A lot of the teams lose their runs of form when they play us though, so here's hoping it continues for the next 3 games.

In other news...there are only 369 tickets left for the North Stand for the Alloa game (sold 623).

That was as easy as we’ll get. It was like playing a bang average mid table team never mind our nearest challenger. As others have said, Nesbitt was a 10/10. Totally unplayable and should have been man of the match. They are utter dog meat 🤣Imagine replacing Dylan Tait with Ben Williamson 🤣🤣🤣

That's nesbitt on 10 league goals now, and 9 assists.

    Lot coming for the occasion.

The club have potential new customers showing their faces at the premises for the first time let make them want to come back.

Voucher game with maybe a discount at the shop, £* off a ticket for the first home game of the season.

10% returning would be a big win and a sound investment.

I'm really happy that these "day trippers" are coming along. Another 2,500 on the attendance for this 1 game will generate another £40K plus for the close season war chest - probably equivalent to another really good championship level player for JM for just 1 game unbudgeted income.

    Great news on Spencers extension.

Question for you, I've been taking my Grandson & his cousin (8 & 7) to the games this season,

If I get a season ticket I understand I can get an under 12 for free but would I be allowed a 2nd at the same time?

Don't mind if I have to pay a bit extra if that's the case, both of them have been buzzing following the team.

From memory think you are allowed at least 2 kids U12 FREE per paying adult, although someone might correct me here.

Alloa ticket update - 539 tickets sold in the North Stand. Selling at a really good rate still. Thats more than 100 yesterday alone.

As said it would be great to go unbeaten for a season, but no hang ups if we don’t succeed. We’ve won the league with games to spare, we’ve played some of the best football seen at the TFS, we’ve assembled for what I regard are the best ballers since our last stint in the big boys league, we’ve brought unity between the fans and the club, we’ve got the Ultras who have been magnificent, we’ve greatly increased our average home support, and we’ve now got a Bairns club touching 300 members, and finally we’ve got merchandise that’s so bloody good I’ve spent easily another season ticket costs on.

Talking of growing the average home support...427 tickets have now been sold for the North Stand (Alloa game).

So nearly 6,500 home tickets sold with 3 weeks till the game.

100% agree with the line that I highlighted above. Regardless of what happens, I don't think the change should be the manager. There were rumblings that he was working with exactly the same budget as last season, so if this is true, then I am assuming it's one of the lowest in the league and as I posted a few months ago, by and large, the signings he has made have been positive and he has brought a squad together that seem to be playing for him. Where Darren is at fault, and I posted this in the Alloa match thread, is that I do think he has been overly loyal to a number of players who have simply not hit the heights regularly enough this season.

I think we're a squad that is just running out of steam, it's a long hard season and we're not one that is blessed with goals, so we are relying on hard work and putting in a "guts and snot" performance every week. We saw a lot of that in the first 2 or 3 quarters of the season, but we are now in a position where we are not now. It's not down to attitude, I think it's simply down to just running on empty and that kind of thing only takes you so far.

4 games to go, I still think we are safe if we win 2 of them. Beat Edinburgh and beat either QoS and Annan and we'll have done it ourselves, if not then we are relying on other teams doing it for us. I would still rather be in our position than Annan's and I still have faith that this squad can put in 2 big performances to get us over the line, however I'd be telling fibs if I said I wasn't worried. If we do go into the Play Off then I definitely think we are done for.

    Sensible post.

I've seen you guys in the flesh 4 times this season and it was very much a case of being tough to beat at Forthbank, however, set up for damage limitation away from home at TFS. At home on the grass you are a different more difficult proposition, however, lately this seems to be changing and the explanation you give about running on empty this late in the season makes sense.

I too, like a few of the above posters have said, have been surprised about how confident most of the Binos on here have been about avoiding 9th, especially given how poor your form has been of late. There also seems to be no appreciation or recognition of how good Annans form has been. Other clubs fans (esp QoS have been more realistically concerned). I also, at the risk of repeating myself, think everyone is underestimating Edinburgh (not saying you have here) they are better than their form suggests and with nothing to play for are playing with a freedom.

I think DY has done a great job and I'm hoping that Stirling (and Queens) avoid 9th, as I like both clubs.

Hearing we’ve sold around 1,100 tickets so far.

    Great going.

We've now sold c300 for the North Stand for the Alloa game, so approx 6,300 home fans with tickets and only c700 (home) tickets left.

Edit - apologies just realised this is the Hamilton FFC game thread and not the FFC thread...

  20. For the Alloa game, with the Main and South stands now both sold out and the North stand having sold approx 250 tickets already in our 3 allocated sections there, do we think they may release even more than 1,000 tickets for the North stand to Falkirk fans for this game?

There is still about a month to go and those remaining 750 tickets left should sell. Maybe Alloa might only get the very end section (of the 6 sections), leave 1 section as a gap and release another section of 300+ to us? No point in having empty seats as Alloa unlikely to sell more than 1-2 sections.

Every £ helps in the close season war chest.
