Quite a few at decent Saturday teams so time will tell.
-
Just seen pather confirm on twitter they are moving from Sunday to Saturday and joining central Scottish league.
-
That can’t leave many of the top league for next year?.

The standard oF amateur as a whole is not what it was due to the east and west of Scotland teams taking more players than the old junior teams used to. This isn’t a slight on the amateur game it is what it is but the previous 15 years there was teams throwing about cash left right and centre nowadays it’s not so common and the players simply play higher and get paid.

Great original post and one I have battered on about since the introduction of this sham 20s league. By the age of 19/20 they should have a year or two at amateur under the belt to progress into men’s football properly. It’s a easy one for the so called senior teams though fills their bench on a Saturday without having to spend money.

Second to None: EOSL Second Division 2022-23

Bring in photo Bring in photo id teamlines like the Sunday league has . Sorts all this ringers carry on out. -
Saw it on Facebook saying they have. How many teams is that from the central premier that started this season won’t be there next year ? Including the teams that folded.

The country is too vast for a pyramid at amateur. Anyone willing to travel for hours for a game these days have jumped to Eos or WOS leagues to pick up a wage. That’s adding to the decline for me. I much prefer less travel for games and don’t have boys paying money for being away for 6 hours on a Saturday as the desire isn’t what it was for that. Local games always draw better crowds and interest for me too.

Not much better it’s a public sports centre with a 4 g park with a fence round it covered with blue sheeting so can’t see into the park on 3 sides.

Good post and agree on most points. After covid was the perfect time to revert to summer football too

Having been involved for the last 15 years in welfare and now ammies I think it will continue to drop. There is the occasional few youth players come through but nothing to sustain teams. The 20s league is a killer for it most playing that will never make The clubs first team and are used to a Friday night by time it’s over and want Saturdays free.

If people think merging all sorts of leagues will save amateur then they are kidding on. It’s slowly dying a death due to numerous reasons and personally im not sure it can be stopped give it 5 years and will be about 200 team’s maximum imo . The 20s league and the east of Scotland/west of Scotland leagues have had a major impact. The generation now playing 35s are the ones who were committed etc. the generation coming through 16-20 is very worrying for grassroots football as it’s well down the list of priorities for them.

10 minute walk maximum from train station.

Hopefully back To streaming the draw live for the next round.

Would be aswell being a open for all as it practically is with this set up. Honestly can’t believe they have allowed this. Minute any team joined East or West of Scotland they cease to be a junior team and therefore shouldn’t be anywhere near the junior cup.

If ever summed up Scottish football it’s clubs leaving a level of football and still getting to play in their old levels biggest cup. What a shambles. What next invite the Amateur teams.

Amateur Clubs Looking to Move to the Senior Leagues

Some of them could have backers willing to put money into them and they will be able to pay players so will have scope for different bodies. -
New clubs in the East of Scotland
Gazzah replied to Moses McNeil's topic in East of Scotland Football League
Every team moving to East of Scotland or West of Scotland should lose their Junior membership. It’s laughable that it was even mooted in the first place for teams still to be able to enter the Scottish junior cup. -
Is there any betting available on this yet? Struggling to find anything online

Amateur Clubs Looking to Move to the Senior Leagues

You mean like a proper pyramid right to the bottom ?. Only problem with some ammie teams stepping up as you say would be they will have do declare the wages they are paying to boys. Not be many ammie teams have suitable facilities either for it.
