  1. In the context of fighting to stay up I want us to be assuming that Annan and Stirling have those 3 points locked in. Any slip up would be a massive bonus obviously but it needs to be seen as that. If we are relying on other sides slipping up to that extent then we really are in trouble.
  2. Assuming both Stirling and Annan beat Edinburgh then we're all level really and it will be a straight shootout from the other games QoS - Stirling (A), Cove (H), Montrose (A) GD -8 Annan - Falkirk (H) Stirling (A) GD - 14 Stirling - QoS (H), Annan (H) GD -21 Thought a draw next week might be enough but actually we would need another point from somewhere to avoid the scenario of an Annan/Stirling draw sending us down
  3. Will need to see how the weekend results go but could be on for the George Rowe Celebratory Stitch-Up
  4. Massive game for us at home to Edinburgh this weekend. Drop points (certainly possible - we managed it at Meadowbank) and I can't see us avoiding 9th with Annan and Stirling also playing Edinburgh However, win and we could probably sneak over the line with another draw from somewhere In fact if Annan lose to Cove this weekend, we should probably negotiate a "Disgrace of Forthbank" type 0-0 draw with Stirling for next weekend that could likely leave us both safe by the last day.
  5. Unless he went for the ambiguous "I'll get you out of this league"
  6. Edinburgh are the only team in Scotland with a worse home record than us (and only by 3 points) One of their two points in last 17 came against us. Stirling and Annan still to play Edinburgh. Annan might just run out of games if we sneak this and they lose Vs Cove but this is a must win for us. Don't and we very much deserve to go down (which we will if end up in the playoffs)
  7. Ah I had it in my head he was initially until the end of the season then got a 2 year contract at some point before the summer. I know it's difficult to get right and overperforming on a one year contract means folk complain if they get poached for nothing but 2.5 years straight off the bat for a first ever manager job is bold. As we suspect he must have interviewed very well. Talk the talk but certainly can't walk the walk.
  8. 1.1 ppg at Palmerston for the last 5 seasons And yes this seasons 12pts from 16 games is the worst
  9. Took another look at the numbers on our home form Since the start of 2019/20 we've managed 87 points at home in the league from 79 games - 1.1 ppg for 5 years - no wonder folk are finding something better to do than head to Palmerston. 2019/20 - 14 pts from 14 games 2020/21 - 15 pts from 13 games 2021/22 - 17 pts from 18 games 2022/23 - 29pts from 18 games 2023/24 - 12pts from 16 games An anomaly in the second half of last season saw 6 wins from last 9 at home and three in a row - the fabled run of form that got Bartley his 2 year contract. This year the worst of the lot and a 4th relegation battle in 5 years, despite playing a league lower
  10. Up to today that was eight straight defeats against Hamilton and our first League point gained home or away since 2014 and first points at NDP since 2007. Miracle result against that sort of record!
  11. I remember a 2-0 win during the first Great Escape season in March 2006 - our first ever win at the ground going by the report http://www.qosarchive.co.uk/250306.htm
  12. 4 out of the last 5 games we've scored the first goal and not won. Still fully expect a second half collapse and 3-1 defeat. Absolutely a better first half than expected though
  13. Coming up a year since our Dabrowski inspired win at Alloa which kept us in the hunt for sneaking into the promotion play-offs. Pretty much the peak of the Bartley era. How times have changed! Been downhill ever since. All eyes on Annan v Kelty for me, expecting nothing from QoS this weekend and will still likely end up disappointed!
  14. Well done Kelty on picking up a fairly unexpected 3 points. Exactly what needs doing when in this situation and something I have no faith that QoS will manage. You will pick up enough over the next 4 games against the other diddies to be comfortably safe. Please win on Saturday too.
  15. That's exactly what he will do. Always amused me when managers get out just before a relegation, especially in this case where he'd leave us with just a play-off to survive. What does the manager say in his next interview? What possible positive spin can you put on being in charge for 36 games of such relentless under-performance? I've no idea but no doubt Marvin will try to blame it on anything but his ineptitude. The worst FT team that there has ever been. That is the Bartley legacy whether he's here for the playoff or not.
  16. We've won 8 games all year. Annan X3, Edinburgh X2, Cove Away x2 and a freak result away at Montrose. The only reason Queens aren't already adrift in the playoff spot is because we were beating Annan and Edinburgh. Now that's stopped I can't see where we pick up any more points. Edinburgh at home maybe but everyone else has them too so that all cancels out. I'd be astonished if we aren't ninth after our next two games. And our record against Kelty as noted is dreadful. Only hope is we can get rid of Bartley before the playoffs.
  17. Not looking great for Bonnyrigg in L2 tbh but you're probably good to just save it for a year or two.
  18. Since we beat Annan on 30th Dec we've mustered a further 7 points. Annan have got 16 and were within seconds of making that 18 this afternoon. The differences in form heading into the run in is so stark. I just can't see them not overtaking us.
  19. Today was the first day I thought there was a small chance the board might actually wake up and punt him, but alas no. BoD going for the "don't back down, double down" approach to believing everything will be fine in the end.
  20. It's the fact it was so utterly predictable for so many thats really depressing A car crash you can see from miles away and just have to sit and wait for the inevitable. We are down if he stays so the BoD needs to start weighing the cost of that up against any severance pay.
  21. We really have got ourselves in to an absolute nightmare situation for the remainder of the season. A manager who has failed and been failing for months but must see out the season for financial reasons before very likely getting binned in the summer. Without the experience to turn it around he's in self preservation mode, blaming anything and everything but himself for poor performances. A board who are leaving at the end of the season and therefore won't take any action/spend to address the disaster of a manager or improve the playing squad, praying that we will sneak over the line in 8th Players who have no idea what to do on the pitch, probably no idea what's happening in the summer, playing for a manager who shouldn't be there and will jump on any mistake they make to take the heat off himself. Where in amongst that is the motivation, desire and bravery needed to get us through the next 9 games with enough points to avoid relegation? I can't see any of it coming from our doing. If we end up 8th then it will be through Annan not doing enough themselves or just luckily running out of games.
  22. Surely this is good news. Since we play really well against the better teams in the league the more teams above us in the table the better
  23. Oh absolutely yes I agree we are in danger of 9th and I would have got rid months ago. My comment was more surely this season has been bad enough that he will be binned in the summer wherever we actually finish in the league. There's no scenario I can see that he should be allowed to start next season. I think the board are gambling that we will be 8th at worst and saving 4 months of a payout.
  24. At what point does the pattern of continuous individual errors costing us games brings the blame to the manager though? Absolutely in isolation you can blame the players but Bartley needs to own the trend. Even if it's just for recruiting players who aren't good enough for this level (and hence make lots of errors)
  25. Comfortable away win and maybe (but probably not) Bartley will stop going on about getting to the promotion play offs and start worrying about avoiding the relegation ones. First of two massive six pointers
