  1. Although normal service will be resumed next season! What was the deal with their fans after your game?
  2. 41 out of 42! The reviewer doesn't like it at all - his issue seems to be with the Holemasters name and it being so far down the strip, rather than the Diamond.
  3. Good to see Rhys (and the club) getting plaudits on the BBC's View From The Terrace tonight. Highlighted his style of play, managerial capabilities and achievements to date - promotion, cup final, pushing for a play off spot.
  4. Yes well done to all the supporters who travelled up tonight. Great result, still not much in it in the table, but a very nice 3 points on the road following 2 poor league results.
  5. The BBC are reporting the crowd as 6555 (?!). Not sure how they got to this figure as Hearts must have sold near enough 4500, the main stand was full other than section A (250) and a few rows behind the dugouts/a few empty seats here and there (say 150 tops). Even stripping out the middle hospitality section I think the figure should be starting with a 7 and not a 6?
  6. I've just watched the game back (okay, I did fast forward at some parts! ) - the encouraging thing is how positive the pre match and indeed post match analysis of Airdrie was...our style of play now being recognised by managers and media across the country, almost a breath of fresh air! Rhys coming across well on camera too, I think yesterday's game has shown the whole club, from the boardroom right to players and everyone behind the scenes in a very good light, despite the defeat. That can only be good for potentially attracting more people to come to the games, sponsors, hospitality etc... AND players who might consider Airdrie as an option. Of course the reality hits us again this week, with the League the focus, and quite a bit of a way to go yet.
  7. The quality up front has been a real issue for us this season. Yes we aren't conceding many, but we aren't scoring many - a combination of our players performances, lack of service and up against better defences compared to last season:- McGill was struggling before and out with injury, Gallagher again not scoring as before and again out injured, Todorov disappointing before Christmas and not really getting a run of games but to be fair has done well since the turn of the year, McGregor's got pace but could do with a bit more of a consistent support alongside him up front. Mason has excelled since the turn of the year, week in week out he is causing defences problems down the wings but we need more of a presence in the box when his ball comes over. Great to see the stadium well filled yesterday, plenty of returning and new faces, hopefully the result won't put them off from coming back and they will see the performance was there.
  8. Well at least we didn't disgrace ourselves, quickly 3 down and I thought we were in big trouble. Had a few chances and Mason to his credit was causing them problems down the wing the first half. Looked more composed in the 2nd half and despite aiming to limit the damage we were still going forward. Ultimately outclassed by one of the top sides in the country but we tried and didn't "park the bus".
  9. Must be around 3k + for us now, as out of the 3700 main stand it looks as if there's only about 300 odd total left across all sections plus ruling out block A (c. 250).
  10. "Glory Hunters" - you have to laugh at that, totally clueless as to how we are as a club. Until we fill our stadium with fans every home game (or even the main stand at the least!), cope with ever increasing overheads including sky high electricity bills etc... then we are in absolutely no position to pick and choose who dare pay the club £25 to come to a game. Their money is as good as anyone's so roll up I say. Clueless.
  11. I think the main reason it is being held at the Westerwood is because of limitations on capacity at any venue in Airdrie? There isn't a lot of options in the town for the numbers they are probably expecting and what they want to do.
  12. Telling you what you already know, but to get chucked out of Broadwood was poor...you need to get a permanent home in Glasgow to start building your fan base as soon as you can. Why would I come and watch Clyde playing in Hamilton when I can go and watch Hamilton, better club playing in a higher league? Your board must be clueless the number of managers you have gone through, but you currently have a manager who will give it his best shot. I think the danger is you could run out of games and you need to get on a run very soon. Funnily enough if you get EK in the play off I think you could get past them, goalfest Brechin might be more difficult. If you went down I'm not so sure you would find it as difficult as the others have done (Albion Rovers, ES, Cowden and Berwick) - just a gut feeling.
  13. Thanks Passionate and ElDiamondo for clarifying.
  14. He's a thick clown isn't he, Balde Bairn.
  15. Is the Main Stand not 3300, the East 2900, South and North 1900 each? Agree that with 1700 home fans v St Johnstone then we'll do well to get 2k given time and on tv.
  16. Hancock can still get caught out at the back, as was seen on Saturday (twice, one leading to Thistle's goal), but since December/turn of the year he has come on (literally) leaps and bounds - his running with the ball down the wings and crosses into the box...superb! Defenders are struggling to cope with him and you can just imagine opposition managers shaking their heads at half time on how they are going to keep him at bay in the 2nd half! Charlie Telfer and Craig Watson look totally comfortable playing in this league, really pleasing to see them do well.
  17. Rowan Suite holds 150. My understanding is that the SFA take the first 5% of admissions, the host club (us) then take 20% of receipts then the remainder is split 50/50 between the host and visiting club. The host club is liable for all expenses (hence the initial 20% to help to cover that). So on a crowd of 7000 our gross income would be based on c. 4000 tickets (after SFA and Hearts cut), so around £100k + tv money less overheads/costs to host.
  18. Yes they will have had to take into consideration the SFA's cut of the gate, the increased stewarding, policing and utility costs, gate halved with Hearts etc...
  19. Total joke of a thread, digging up about Johnny Martin 40 years later, clueless as to Airdrie's circumstances - conveniently forgetting about the votes in favour of Gretna prior to our taking over of Clydebank (conveniently forgetting they were £180k in debt and in administration), not seeing the irony and funny side of the Trump flag, claiming more racism by the fans (facts please?) etc...etc..
  20. Good draw, Hearts will be difficult and harder than St Johnstone, but it's a cup game so...!! We'll have the main stand (probably around 2500), they'll be given the East Stand of course and Petersburn Road so they'll probably bring at least 4500. Earlier prediction of 7k not far off I reckon. Not a massive payday as after the SFA 's cut we'll only get half the gate, so averaging out at £20 a ticket £70k less cost of policing, stewarding etc... Still, money in for the club.
  21. The Edinburgh Evening News are seemingly reporting that Megwa "has returned from his loan spell at Airdrieonians and is keen to make an impact." Edit to add the full article from yesterday afternoon alludes to the Hibs manager being undecided and weighing up his options, Megwa is interviewed by the paper and he says will just have to wait and see what happens, so sounds as if it's still all up in the air.
  22. Think you should be more concerned about how awful your precious QOS are doing again in League One.
  23. Great wasn't it, especially seeing the manky Hilton tramps down at the front of the stand giving it the hard man act to our fans. Full of crap that manky mob. Hope their bus collapsed on the A9 going home, just like their team.
  24. They are planning to introduce restrictions on Tuesday...having parked their car away fans are required to enter the store and spend a minimum of £500. Security on duty, reg numbers being taken, so no alternative. Home fans allowed to park too but Lidl have agreed to reduce the shop spend to 50p.
