  1. Yeah it was the stags, they were in rutt and I heard them all the way up as well.
  2. I went up Stuc a Chroin from Callander but fecked my right leg on the way up. As a result it took me longer to get down than it did to reach the summit. Did get cracking views from that direction though and seen loads of deer, a hare and some ravens. A frog gave me the fright of my life when it jumped out from between my legs when I sat down for a water break. Got my feet rather wet in the river as well. The path was really boggy in places but it was great being able to see both Stuc and Vorlich relatively close up. What time were you at the summit of Stuc Fudge? I was there from about 12.15-12.45. Didnt get back to the car until 5pm.
  3. May have to take a trip to Leki's on Friday maybe then, think I've got too much housework to do today and Steven's stoned on painkillers so can't help me. I'll see how things pan out over the weekend, my friend and I might end up going somewhere even if it is raining on saturday which'll mean I won't go anywhere on Sunday.
  4. I will take one with me but don't use it until the way back normally, the path back down Stuc a Chroin looked quite steep. Someone I know keeps recommending I get another and use the two of them but I'm a bit skint at the moment so will have to stick with just the one. Dreading tomorrow as my last walk was quite a while ago (May). I am going to struggle badly I think.
  5. Yes the path up Vorlich is very clear with the only boggy bits being in the corrie between the two. The path that leads off Stuc a Chroin back around the side of Vorlich can be a bit boggy at times but it's fairly easy to step on the drier bits. The path to the top of Vorlich is quite rocky as well so watch out for that, might be sore in running shoes.
  6. I'll watch out for you then but I'll probably take the path that runs between the two in order to do Stuc first. If I can be bothered on the way back I'll do Vorlich as well but seeing as how I've done it three times on its own I will most likely not bother. Thinking of doing An Caisteal & Beinn a’ Chroin on Sunday as it's meant to be nice then too. Though me and a friend have arranged to go walking on Saturday though the forecast is for rain so not sure if we'll be going or not.
  7. Thursday is supposed to be sunny so I'm heading back to do Stuc a Chroin then although depending on when I arrive at Ardvorlich I may do Vorlich as well though you'll no doubt run past me at some point.
  8. Rather hoping to head out in the middle of the night at some point this week to get an early start on Ben Vorlich and Stuc a Chroin. I'm determined that I'm going to do these feckers as a pair this year. I think I've been to the summit of Ben Vorlich 3 times now but for various reasons didn't go on to do Stuc.
  9. Why is it that when you have loads of animals they're all fine then the moment you're laid off work they all get ill and need to go to the vet.
  10. I'm a bit worried about this truth be told. Here's the list of animals I use... Rabbit 1 Rabbit 2 Rat 1 Rat 2 Rat 3 Rat 4 Snake Tarantula 1 Tarantula 2 Tarantula 3 Scorpion Toad 1 Toad 2 Toad 3 Frog 1 Frog 2 Stick Insect Millipede 1 Millipede 2 Cockroach 1 Cockroach 2 Snail 1 Snail 2 Snail 3 Snail 4 Out of that lot They actually own 1 rat, 1 rabbit, 1 snail, 1 toad, 1 millipede and a cockroach the rest are all mine. I dont really understand why they want them back given they aren't drafting anyone in to replace me. If it came to it I dont mind handing back the bugs but my rabbit and rat are now in a pair/group which I wouldn'r seperate them from. I enquired a while ago about buying them back and was told this'd be OK. The toad has been at the vet this week (which I still have recipts for). I'm tempted to tell them it's died. Maybe I'm worrying over nothing but a sure fire way to get me riled up is to threaten to take my animals off of me. The rabbit I got second hand as someone in the company was leaving just after I joined. The state he was in when I got him was disgusting (skinny, over-grown nails, filthy matted fur). If it came to it I'd get hold of other animals and give them them instead but I don't want to do that either. I dont know what forms I may have filled in which detail what animals are used and who they belong to.
  11. Got a letter today saying I'm being laid off. That's going to be fun to deal with along with a partner who's being treated for cancer and also out of work. And in the letter was a wee note saying "we will make arrangements to collect your animals in due course" Over my dead body
  12. Thanks for that... Fudge Time = 5hrs30mins Mouse Time = Fudge time + 50% Fudge time And yeah it's the same one you're thinking of.
  13. Has anyone done Ben Bhuidhe in the Trossachs? Looks like the walk is is very long so I was thinking of camping out the night before. Not going to get many hills done this year but this one I did fancy but think I'd need to have a very early start (either camp or leave at about 4am).
  14. Wish I could get back in the hills again but circumstances are preventing me just now.
  15. There is no cameras in that car park according the to plod, I think they went back up today to have a look and see if the thief had taken anything and thrown the wallet away. Feck the credit cads my Runrig fan club membership card was in there too.
  16. Falkirk Royal Infirmary just in front of the out-patients door.
  17. There was £20 and some change I think, the police took DNA tapings and the serial no of my satnav so if it turns up for sale in a shop they'll know to keep hold of it. Only had the car for 2 weeks but the glass isnt going to cost as much as I thought it would to fix. Overall though I'd still have prefered not to have had to have the glass fixed, buy a new satnav and cancel my debit and credit card. At least the credit card hadn't been used but I couldn't check the debit card last night. It's a fair wee walk into town from the hospital so hopefully they didnt get a chance to try it.
  18. Yesterday I had to rush my partner to hospital as he was having pretty horrible reactions to chemotherapy drugs. I sat him down in the waiting room and discovered I'd left his list of medication in the car. I ran back out after having been gone for 3mins and found my car had been broken into and my wallet and satnav stolen. What a piece of work the theif must be. Wait in a hospital car park until someone pulls in with a person who looks like they might be in the hospital for a while then breaks in when they leave the car. Normally I'm very good at hiding things like wallets and satnav holders but I just wasn't thinking. Thankfully my cards were cancelled double quick and there wasn't much money in the wallet. More importantly we got some tablets to take away for my lad and the side effects have died down now so he's much better. Hopefully we'll get a decent nights sleep tonight which will be the first since last Tuesday.
  19. Because we need love too! Anyway my PTTGOYN this week is my office being unable to employ anyone who lives further north than Stirling. I am buying a new car to replace my old one which died long before its time due to the stupid number of miles it covered in the time I've been employed. I've told them that my new car is not much of a step up and so could they please try not to send me too far away as I did not have another lot of life savings to completely wipe out on a new motor in the next year. Next week my schedule is as follows... Monday - Crossford/Bannockburn (fair enough) Tuesday - Edinburgh (fair enough) Wednesday - Kirkcaldy (we have a guy in Fife) Thursday - Dundee (for the sake of 1 show between 9.30 and 10.30) Friday - Dundee/Forfar/Dundee This isn't even a bad week. Last week I covered 500 miles and had Monday and Friday off.
  20. Cylinder head gasket in my car is fecked and it'll cost about half of what the car is worth to get it fixed. There's no point in me doing that which means I can't go to work and if I don't go to work I don't get paid. I can't really afford to spend a lot of my savings on another car either and it's not worth me getting a crap one that'll need replacing in a years time. Fecked if I know what to do
  21. Ball pythons? You insensitive twat! Why on earth did you google tuna juice anyway?
