  1. You said it would apply to all countries when clearly that's not the case, laws tend to reflect the society as a whole so a load of European countries making homosexuality legal reflects that they probably were very tolerant. No, but fairly sure our empire was the largest.
  2. General intolerance was a factor in the rise of the Nazi party and thus war. Nonsense to suggest being gay was illegal in all countries in the 30's and 40's Poland had never criminalised Homosexuality and made the age of consent the same as heterosexual relationships. France had de-criminalised in the late 1700s. Denmark and the Philippines had de-criminalised in the 30's Iceland, Switzerland, Sweden all decriminalised in the 40's. USSR had de-criminalised in the 20's before reverting in the mid/late 30's. Vast majority of countries in the world sadly still criminalised homosexuality and a huge chunk of that can probably be placed at the British Empire spreading our intolerance. It is sad that the current UK Prime Minister has used homophobic slurs in the past and that was the point I was trying to clumsily make.
  3. Well general intolerance, but they did decide that being gay was worthy of being killed
  4. I don't think many people who will be actively celebrating will be celebrating a return to peace time it's far more, we won, Britain won the war, get it right up Germany etc. Correct, far too many people are deliberately missing the point. Flag waving nationalism with dog whistle racism and homophobia led in part to the world war perhaps it would be a good time to evaluate the current leadership of our country.
  5. Am I the only one a bit uneasy with a party to essentially celebrate a whole load of folk dying. Some sober remembrance and making sure it never happens again would in my opinion be a better act of remembrance, we could start by being an active part in the political union formed to stop this happening again.
  6. The SPFL not wanting to loan Rangers money because they might go bust really is an unexpected but welcome turn of events. However I would criticise the Guardians reporting as its not clear if Gretna Football Club or the Holding company went bust
  7. If there is a shortage of PPE, get your sister to email: covid-19-health-PPE@gov.scot and they will look into it and sort it out.
  8. Thats the appropriate level for the P&B Hospital to deal with. Looks like a Jrn Doc did the stitching though 2/10
  9. Low threshold for the P&B hospital, sling your hook there's a pandemic on.

  13. Used to be my thing to do on the train, can't really do it when I'm driving. ETA think I stopped when I was on holiday and never got back into the routine. Still happy to be doing the cups when they are on the go.
  14. Last few days have been a real struggle, when I got in from work yesterday I turned off my phone and won't be turning it back on until Monday morning. I was feeling really overwhelmed for the first time but went into work today and a long walk by the sea and I feel like I'm on the up. Got a day off tomorrow so will get out in the fresh air on my own.
  15. If I'm not working count me in, won't know when I'm working so any time would suit I can't say I've ever seen him in such a state.
  16. Correct Alan. Thanks Cardi, cant remember what thread it was but you posted your age and I had you about 10 years younger. still 0.5/10 but a much younger chap.
  17. Sugar off the apprentice retweeted that post. Some brass neck to be employed by the BBC and then say journalists should reflect the mood and not hold people to account.
  18. Fair enough. Not exactly the best solution.
  19. Is that not full of sweeteners or sugar? I know that - but caffeine surely better than sugar? Me also, what did you swap cigarettes with? Don't smoke but if you can stop that kicking most other things should be easy, no?
  20. Cold turkey is usually best for me, I'm going to try and replace any cravings with Tea, Coffee and water but I think you already do this , I'm sure one of the falkirk deviants kicked a sugar habit.
