  1. With regards to calling for the managers head, there are some fans who haven't rated him since day 1 - this is fine, as everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I knew it would end badly (if we didn't win) when he put out such an unexpected line up. Although I rate the guy, I'm unsurprised that Saturday was further proof to those who don't.
  2. Don't think I can make it along. Can't see us winning. Hard fought draw is the best we can realisitically hope for.
  3. The first thing I thought when I saw the formation at the start of the game was that Murray had made a bit of a rod for his own back - all those changes, some of them stranger then others, then the formation and positioning....if it didn't work he was opening himself up for some flak.
  4. surely not? he's been a bit hestant since signing the new deal but didn't think he was at fault for last weeks result.
  5. last 7 games: scored 7 conceded 8. scoring 3 isn't going to happen - although i often go for 3-1 in our games
  6. Carrick was the best of our front 4 and was subbed for Roy....I genuinely couldn't believe what I was seeing. McKay is unsubbable for some unknown reason Kerr was terrible, from the initial squad surely wedderburn or hawkshaw were better options? MacDonald has been really good, maybe injured? and talking about intial squad, why is Roberts dropped completely until Barrowman was ill? Something going on behind the scenes? 9 points from last 21. Raith next week.
  7. I think the important thing is that we don't totally collapse like we did last season after the Celtic game. That's been my main concern all week. But Murray has a job on his hands as the recent form has been poor, we've rightly been pushing through it as a fanbase but a quick upturn is required to even get the play offs (I don't doubt we will get them) as current form is bottom half of the league stuff. Thought Smith looked more like his old self yesterday which bodes really well.
  8. the optimist in me says yes, but looking at P&B's form guide on twitter we were either 6th or 7th in the league over last 6 games so.....
  9. I'm sure it'll be fine, quite confident statements from ITK folk on Facebook. My arse did twitch when I saw that hearts had recalled two loan players from dunfermline right enough.
  10. Just picking up on a few of the points above:- McKay - he had a poor game but his versatility is what saved him from being subbed. Allowed a different system to be played. (don't get me wrong, I wanted him subbed until I realised what was happening) Hutton - seemed nervey at times last week and not quite his usual self yesterday. hopefully just a blip. Andy Ryan - if fit, a fantastic signing
  11. I agree that Smith has been working really hard - he's not a liability or anything - but his finishing has went off the boil in the last few weeks and would be great if he could get his confidence back. Our front three are fantastic when they are all firing.
  12. I'm sure Gal will come good, I'm more concerned with Smith who has been on his worst run of form so far. Hopefully comes out of it soon. re Aird, I know nothing about him but a few comments on social media today indicate he is a walloper. If so I don't think he'll be on the radar, Millar talked a fair bit about the right type of players on the podcast.
  13. We do play long ball, but at least we recognise that we do. Falkirk's football was just as bad and when they actually tried to play a passing move they made an arse of it, but listening to the players and fans they think they're Barca lol Either team could have snatched it at the end, but I'm not disappointed with a point today...that's 5 from a possible 9 against the Barca Bairns.
  14. It's a brilliant turn around, and long awaited. Just keep it going and winning at home will become a habit.
  15. The Supporters Trust is still fully functioning, we are running buses to the Hearts game currently. Going to be seeing a good bit more from the Trust in 2020. DITC is a registered charity that has been formed by members of the supporters trust to continue the excellent work that was previously done in the name of the Airdrieonians Supporters Trust
  16. look on the bright side - if you would have told me we would be joint top at xmas after that Montrose game I'd have laughed my balls off at you. We seemed to finally fix the 3 season long midfield problem by playing Roberts with Millar and McKay supporting, so no great surprise that things have went backwards a bit with Roberts seemingly injured/unfit. I can't shake the impression that our squad is huge but unsure if that's because of the way we have presented it as one big group of players or not....so yeah we need some quality to come in but I'd want to see some guys move on too just to keep that balance.
  17. well, to be fair I haven't watched Murray's interview so if that's what he's done then fair enough. But I suppose if I was nitpicking the difference would be that we were denied a chance at a point by not getting the penalty. Darren Young moaning about those deicisions after being pumped for 90 mins was definitely more of an avoidance of reality thing I think. My view is that we were definitely robbed by not getting the penalty, but we should have realised that the tactics weren't working and changed them much earlier and maybe we wouldn't have had to rely on the penalty. Also, I was surprised at how benign Fordyce's trip looked on the highlights, at the game I thought he had really blootered the guy. Hope the appeal wins.
  18. not that it bothered you. If Darren Young can greet to the press so can Murray.
  19. I think they either slot Kerr in for Fordyce or they put McKay there and bring wedderburn back in. Think I'd go with Kerr. re Smith, I want to give him time to play through his wee "bad patch" but hope he doesn't make it worse.
  20. It's a strange one. We've been on a great run and I think we're just determined to enjoy it whilst expecting it to end at every opportunity lol A win at Starks Park is a huge statement, would love it if we could manage it. I concur with the guy above who says that he is sure we will run ourselves in to the turf regardless of the result. I couldn't have guaranteed that before but now I think we can and that's all we can ask. It's the platform that teams win games from.
