Getting a goalkeeper is hard in January. Whilst he could do with more reinforcements I feel he’s the bigger issue cause I’m not convinced that McPake knows how to get the best out or the players he has now nor he has the tactical nous to change a game to suit what is needed.

Find it utterly astonishing we have a manager who was a centre back and an assistant manager who was a centre back yet our defence is honking. I have no idea how James McPake gets linked with other jobs. The man literally just puts out a team, hopes for the best and then rolls a dice on his subs with no idea of why or how it will help or hinder the team. Utterly clueless.

I love my club and am glad that reconstruction is being discussed cause imo the current structure is s**t. The game is over priced for the product which is on offer. Playing the same teams 4 times a season, sometimes more depending on cups is boring and stale. The game is needing revamped. I am glad to see my club championing for restructure (if only for their own self interest) for the brief reasons above. however If I’m being truly objective and honest with myself and others. Dundee have gone about it the wrong way. I feel a no vote would have been suffice on Friday with a statement saying that Dundee could not vote for such an agreement as they believed now is a good time to be looking at the structure of the game whilst the season was stopped, with no beginning date arranged for the start of next. Nelms instead utilised a flaw in an incompetent setup in order to try and gain leverage on an agenda he wanted to set. Whilst it’s not ideal, I could accept it as sometimes being a bit ambitious and opportunistic is how sometimes you progress. He did so knowing that he and the club’s reputation would take a hit. He was playing with fire and he must have known it. Days passed with increased scrutiny across the Scottish game. No one knowing exactly what it was Dundee wanted. The club as we now know has now performed a U-turn and has gained a task force to look at setting up reconstruction if its possible. Nelms was playing with fire as I said and feel he has only burnt himself and the club at the moment. If positive long term reconstruction happens for the new season then ill tip my hat off to him and say he did good but as it stands tonight, He’s damaged our reputation massively for a task force which may or may not bring change, something which could possibly have been achieved by just voting no. I don’t think what he has achieved by holding out has been worth it and if anything has only been detrimental to the club. Apologies for long post, not much else to do on lockdown

I might be being naive but it was probably initially an admin error but Nelms realised with the way the dominos fell he’d have some leverage to get what he wants by holding the vote. Question then becomes what does he want or what is he hoping to gain realistically?

Does anyone think Nelms will use this to try and get leverage on United to get involved in ground sharing or to gain ownership of dens back? Just curious to see what people’s thoughts are.

Wasn’t the greatest football spectacle by any means but good to see players from both sides being aggressive and showing a bit of fight, which is what a derby is about. Think the Premier league would be better with both clubs in it. McPake dropping Forster has made such a difference. Hopefully we can keep this momentum going and take heart from the last couple of games. Scottish officials are absolutely brutal, it’s such a difficult task And thankless, however, there is no way the standard should be this low. Some of the decisions were bizarre the night.

What’s people’s thoughts on Peter Houston as an option? Did well at the DABs and Falkirk. Surely better than some of the options that have been mentioned?

I’m in your camp spud. Think O’Dea of late hasn’t been to bad and would like him to stay. There’s worse rotten apples in the squad than him IMO

I thought yesterday was a slight improvement on the basis there seemed to be a wee bit more fight, that being said we are utter garbage. McIntyre has inherited a horrendous squad there is no doubt about that. Yesterday however I thought his idea to leave Miller upfront on his own when 1-0 down was borderline criminal. Scottish football knows miller is finished. Livi knew after 2 games, McIntyre should already know. We could have been in with more of a chance yesterday if we didn’t squander every free kick and corner. On the Gowser topic, think we need him back cause even if he is having a pish game still better than half the team. Woods might add a bit of physicality after seeing his wee cameo yesterday. Massive game on Saturday, hope the fans turn out. Mon the Dee!

As much as I was/am uninspired by McIntyres appointment, I can’t blame him for the past two games. McCann has left a shite squad and Nelms gave McIntyre the job at a ludicrous time. If it’s true the players found out by what’sapp that’s amateur level stuff. Sacking a manager at the end of an international break again is amateur stuff. If we are looking at the leadership and going WTF, the players are no doubt doing the same. It’s been a calamitous season so far. Hopefully Jim can turn it around. Finishing 10th would be a fantastic achievement giving the state this season has started in.

As I said earlier I think this more than just about results. We can all agree that football has very little to no morals these days. This issue does dwell on integrity and fairness. This situation is quite exceptional because it’s about the existence of a club and the hardship administration places on the club and fans. Billy Dodds claims the perpetrators of the admin got away with it, he isn’t wrong; however, I don’t see how taking it out on the fans and voting against the CVA was standing up to them? At that stage a rejection vote would only hurt the fans and indeed the club and not the people he despises so much. He was entitled to make that vote, however, as said several time we are allowed to reject the notion of us paying his wages and him wanting a job at the club. As for fans, saying might as well get him him. I don’t get it. Whether it’s killie, St Johnstone, Dundee or anyclub in Scotland/world supporters love their clubs. For some it’s part of their identity. For someone to actively choose to reject a clubs exitance, what ever his reasons and a few years later want a job back at club is quite frankly perverse. Media “fans are the life blood of the game....the fans need to get over themselves cause they know nothing” Media “diving is cheating and it’s disgusting...we all need to make a living and do what we need to do” The media will always look after their own.

The thing is Billy Dodds is all about the integrity allegedly. So it’s really an integrity issue that he believes he can vote to kill a company off and then later, hopes to start earning a wage back at the company he voted to kill off. Where’s his integrity there? He may be a good coach or not but ultimately it’s bigger than that. Many people suffer through an admin, people like Dodds who lose jobs, people who are due money, the fans. Dodds acts like he was the only one affected, many Dundee fans did loads to keep the club going when he voted to end it all. It was there second time having to do it! Then the same people who dedicated the time, the money, the emotion to keep things going are expected to welcome him back who went against everything the fans tried to do! It’s just so fundamentally wrong! Yet him and his journos pals are like, need to move on. No. Plenty of good coaches out there and to be frank, if McIntyre has to have him, well in my mind, there are plenty of other managers of mcintyres ability about. (This isn’t meant to be a rant at you personally forkboy, just frustration at the situation and media) So to sum up. f**k Dodds and f**k any journalist who says Dundee fans need to get over it.

I will get ridiculed/slated for who I think should get it but I honestly think Peter Houston should get it if he wants it. Done well at dabs and Falkirk, knows the league. He is a bellend like but if he can turn this season around then I’m happy for him to have it. He is assistant at Scotland U21s and Morton.
