  1. Great pic - love the guy with the top hat and cane wandering across the pitch. Spectators dress code has seriously declined over the years. Also seems something more exciting happening off to the left behind the artist.
  2. Watching this as well and have a couple of episodes to go. Whilst I'm enjoying it and Freeman is excellent, I just find the whole thing a bit far fetched and the fact he seems to just wander around doing whatever the f**k he fancies rather than actually arrest folk doesn't seem very believable Pretty much the same opinion as myself - enjoyable but it doesn't seem like a very realistic scenario.
  3. It must be depressing for a fisherman to see that his hard earned crab catch is worth less than garlic mayo. Having said that, they had a hell of a lot of garlic mayo. "Would you like an arancini ball with your garlic mayo madame?"
  4. I thought it was a poor piece of journalism. There was plenty to suggest JW might be a bit of a c@#t but it didn't come up with much more than that.
  5. Girls did quite a job of stitching up Navid and Akshay last night.
  6. Great to see the occasional 'and' used to separate names in the team line ups rather than commas all the way.
  7. When I was around 17/18 I remember a guy called Stevie who was a couple of years older. Depending on your opinion he was either bit of a character or a d@8khead. Poor fellow had epilepsy and was commonly know as Shakin' Stephen.
  8. Give it time. Any half decent show requires a "celebrity" version nowadays to keep these no-marks relevant. This did happen as a feature on Children in Need or Comic Relief (maybe even Sport Relief) a few years ago. Outcome was the same as Fullerene describes in USA version - it came down to who had the richest friends. Someone knew the Chelsea team at the time and I recall John Terry paying 1000s for something that was about a tenner.
  9. I would suspect more uproar from over sensitive Celtic fans rather than anyone who might have a concern about custom made axes for 8 year olds.
  10. Still, I'm sure the animal charity will be delighted with a copy of her book.
  11. I'm sceptical about celebrity/charity versions of any programmes involving cash prizes. For example, celebrity teams on The Chase seem to win more frequently than teams made up from Joe Public.
  12. Never saw it myself but I believe it was called 'Whistleblowers' or something like that. This did use to happen a few years ago and I have a recollection that it was discontinued to to opposition from the clubs. Apparently there was a legal argument that comments in a public forum were in some way unduly impacting on any appeals process.
  13. The relaxed posed and thumbs up signal suggests that the casualty on the stretch will pull through.
  14. Normally in Aberdeen/shire area you hear within a week, 10 days at the most. Usually you have an option to accept the sanction or appeal and you have to respond accordingly. If you haven't heard anything since August I'd guess that the referee couldn't be ars@d writing the report?
  15. The British have a long fascination with the Hitler era. Due to a leg injury I was signed off work a couple of years ago. Being effectively immobile I spent my days on the couch flicking through the TV channels. As a result I know everything there is to know about buying antiques, restoring houses and the bl@@dy Nazis.
  16. Not something I've witnessed personally but I always associate this with the gangster community. Did the have a big floral wreath spelling out GUV'NOR?
  17. I've just noticed the walking frame which convinces me that at last the Captain Tom pair are a wind up.
  18. The trainers are so bad I question if they're genuine or a wind up. Does anyone know?
  19. Yes, and they all have to park as close as possible to the ground.
  20. Another example of how the AXIS powers of WW2 were apparently all masters at running train networks!
  21. The penalty area on the right had side of the picture looks to be about 1/2 the pitch Great looking venue but I bet it's a nightmare on a windy day.
  22. I spent the night with Joanna Lumley once. Well, we were on the same overnight flight back from India.
  23. Ponderous is a very good word to describe the Scottish style of play. Our clubs and national team too often play slow, deliberate football and struggle to be incisive and clinical when required. Years of coaching kids to pass 10 yards to a stationery team mate are taking their toll.
