  1. What a result for Gartcairn today beating super premier team Kilbirnie ladeside on their home pitch. The cairn where forced by the sjfa to play away from mtc Park, there was a couple of options but eventually we accepted kilbirnies offer to play there. Great set up and hospitality so we thank you for that. As for the game, kilbirnie opened us up a few times early on and deservedly scored the opener, just after the ref awarded them a penalty as the young keeper fouled the attacker bearing down on him, thankfully the resulting penalty rebounded off the post and kicked to safety. This got Gartcairn going and after a few attempts eventually Kevin Ross squeezed one over the line from a corner. Half time 1-1 but could easily have been 4-4 Gartcairn for me were the better side in the second half and took control with kev ross getting a deserved second, this seemed to deflate kilbirnie and shortly afterwards deco Thomas Kilmartin scored an absolute peach of a free kick to take us to 3-1 The gaffer Jamie Mckenzie made a few changes to see the game out. Kilbirnie pushed again and scored on the 89th minute to make it squeaky bum time but the cairn saw it out to win 3-2. Summary, underdogs took the day. Great team performance but special mention to young Chris the keeper, kev and deco. Enjoy your night lads
  2. Gartcairn continue their unbeaten run with a 3-1 victory away to a hard working East Kilbride. As seems to be the norm Gartcairn scored in the opening minutes , Dylan Mcguigan slotted home after a delightful thru ball from giggsy. East Kilbride didn’t let the early goal effect and hustled and bustled the cairn defence and midfield. On the 26th minute a looping cross caught out the young Gartcairn keeper and he watched agonisingly as it floated over him into the net. East Kilbride took a spur from this and continued to hassle Gartcairn although after Jamie Leslie was upended in the box kev Ross scored from the spot to take a lead 2-1 into the break. Summary of first half 50/50 although cairn defended well and took their chances. Second half it was clear the gaffer has had a chat and cairn came out on a mission. Gartcairn commanded the second and were first to most balls, roundabout seventy eight minutes the cairn put thru a great ball only for the ek defender to handball it, jal was clean thru but the ref had pulled it back. Deco stepped up to take the free kick and duly slotted home to seal the points. Good day at the office against a team that will take points from many, if it hadn’t been for the ek keeper the score line could’ve been a lot higher. Thanks to all at East Kilbride for their hospitality and banter, cakes were delicious, all the best for the season Man of the match Gary Mcmullen

  4. Gartcairn 2-2 Greenock Still unbeaten but rode our luck at times. Game started well with August player of the month Jamie Leslie scoring in 3 minutes, early goals seem to be a trait with us. Cairn just edging the first half when Greenock keeper stupidly took the feet away from Alexander Amos in the box, Thomas Kilmartin stepped up and slotted home. Everything was looking rosy as half time was arriving till Ryan Bennett made a rash tackle shortly after being booked leaving the ref no option but to show a second yellow . Halt time 2-0 Second half was mostly Greenock who hemmed the ten men of gartcairn in . Cairn defended brilliantly and kept wave after wave of attack under control, throwing bodies behind everything, on the 83rd minute a long punt from Greenock keeper saw it breach our defence for their striker to slot home. Greenock continued their onslaught and deservedly got their equaliser on the 96th minute. With four starters unavailable and playing with ten men the full second half cairn should be happy with a point although disappointed in when the equaliser came about. All the best to Greenock for the rest of the season, Alexander Amos aka noddy got man of the match (and he doesn’t even have an airdrie postcode) Thanks also as usual to our sponsors and the small but growing band of fans for your continued support.
  5. We are officially asking sjfa for permission to switch
  6. Switch is a possibility Viewparker, we are in the process of upgrading a bit, we are were we are at the moment, still baby steps but hopefully within the next three to five years we will have full facilities including seating , disabled access and seating, separate changing and a food court . Hopefully lol
  7. I’d imagine it could be our changing facilities at the moment as we await the council sorting iy
  8. Sjfa have advised it can’t be played at mtc Park on this occasion, we are trying to source an alternative, other option is to switch the tie
  9. You must be close Gartcairn lad9 we are away to shotts this week, will be a hard game but we concentrate on us, Jamie’s got the boys buzzing again and we look forward to every match regardless of who it is, next two are biggies. As for the maybole result our lads were on fire and ruthless on Saturday, so all credit to them, the maybole manager clearly got his tactics wrong as maybole are a decent team. Having watched the highlights again there keeper should’ve done better. Mtc
  10. Will be in a position in next couple of days to confirm
  11. Gartcairn 14-0 maybole We were on fire today , everything clicked, first goal an absolute delight and one to watch out for on the extended extended highlights. Every player to a man could’ve claimed man of the match today, every single one of them outstanding. Credit to maybole players who tried to keep playing and didn’t resort to kicking . All the best for rest of the season
  12. Boars head round corner from park is the closest one Bore road
  13. Only allowed to do a wee bit at a time tbh due to council and planning, but ambitious plans ahead that we want to match on the park. People have us paying fortunes from day one, we need to pay some extra expenses when trying to sell the clubs to players, airdrie isn’t the back of beyond but it’s on the bus route, the way we see it we got promotion last year, one goal from winning the league, if we can get success on the park it helps build the stuff off the park and starts to build a fan base. Having started from nothing in June 15 I’m proud of where we are and where we are going. No doubt we will make a few mistakes along the way . Hope to see you at mtc Park again doon
  14. So tug w You know what our dastarding plans are For the record I’d rather have what we have just now than some of the shitholes that claim to be good enough for junior football, that being said we are in the process of changing parks to include our own facilities, two 100 seater stands , toilets, pa and food court, oh and electricity Hopefully you’ll come visit again when we get it, hopefully completed within the next two years. No bad for a daft wee club in only their fourth season I’m sure you’ll agree
  15. Gartcairn 4-4 Glasgow Perthshire
  16. The one big plus for me is yet again like the shettleston game we go to the final whistle
  17. My take on it, billy going on felt a bit of a pissrip but the game was running down , they were 4-2 up and trying to run the game out, I’ve no problem with that it’s football. Felt we were bullied for large parts of the game today and were better than that. I slated the young keeper at the third(maybe bit harsh) then pulled off four belters not to mention being up there for the equaliser . Re the ref , I sit on the management committee so I’m not going to comment on his performance especially the second half, only to say the supervisor that was there I believe would’ve been having a lengthy chat. Bit of exuberance from all of us at the side when we equalised , your seriously not telling me the possil boys get easily offended. Re the end of the game, again no comment other than to say it has no place in any football never mind semi pro. Now wanting to have a go at our set up!! Really? Let’s be perfectly honest if you had won the game like you thought you had none of the stuff would’ve happened at the end and the park and facilities wouldn’t have been a problem
  18. Gartcairn 4-4 GLASGOW Perthshire 4-2 down with three minutes to go, getting a point is the only positive today
  19. Great winning start for Gartcairn away to wishaw with a 2-1 victory. Huffed and puffed first half and squandered enough chances to win two games. Ht 0-0 Second half both teams going for it, the cairn setting up chance after chance again , in true junior fashion wishaw took the lead. A minute later a deco free kick flew past the keeper 1-1 Game restarts and within a minute the cairn take the lead again thru that man deco. Satisfying result in the end and three from three so far but long season ahead, as they say one game at a time and next up a home game against GLASGOW Perthshire at mtc Park next Saturday 2pm ko Thanks to wishaw for the hospitality and all the best for the rest of the season
  20. Good 2-0 win away to Blantyre vics last night, goals from giggsy and Heppy Clean sheet too Thanks to Blantyre vics for the hospitality
