FSS+ Falkirk Daft Monthly Draw
Look out somebody's watching!0 -
If it was any other way voting wise i would like another way to donate to the club. one vote for all1 subscription 1 vote is the only way to do it. Will be looking to pay by standing order from now on too.

I don't pay my monthly amount to FSS because it gives me a vote. I pay it because i am a life long Falkirk fan who wants the best for the club and think that like minded fans should provide the best future. Ok i can vote on issues like DG but that is nowhere near the main reason i subscribe. People talking about the higher you pay the more votes you should have or if you only have £5 you can only have the balloons and whistles but not the vote saddens me. I thought as a club we could be a free democracy but sadly it is a case that those with a penny in their pocket are looking down at those with a half penny

In a way yes. But the way the system should go they have the same clout on the BoD as the FSS( CUE THE NIGEL IS A PATRON RESPONSE ). If the FSS had a few members with the time experience and desire that would be perfect.Aka The Patrons?0 -
Absolutely correct Harry. Me tooI joined the FSS when it first started and I’ve recently upped my monthly contribution but I see it as a donation to the club, I know I am lucky in the current financial climate to be able to do this. I don’t honestly care about voting rights/owning shares etc but that’s just me and each to their own. I see this more as a monthly donation than anything else.
But dont like the idea that the bigger you pay the more you can say. That sinks of the usual capitalist mantra1 -
That is the reason that these things fall flat. If you suggest a person who gives a large amount deserves a bigger say in a fan based initiative it stops it being a democracy. In that system the big fish swim to the top and the average punter ( me ) loses any say or at best dilutes any say. Translate that to politics and you would suggest that the richer voters and business owners should get more votes than a person on bwnefits? It is also a major reason for not going above £10 a month. Five people can put in a tenner a month and have five votes. One person can put in £50, yet they get one vote. Sorry, that isn’t right.
Equally, how much should be paid before a vote is possible? It would be easy for say 20 people to join, pay £10, then vote, then cancel their SOs. Result? £200 buys 20 votes. Someone paying £10 a month for a year……£120…..that buys 1 vote. Someone putting in £50 a month for a year…….£600……that buys 1 vote.
There is zero incentive to pay more than £10 a month. Your “easy to manage” is even easier to manipulate.

The size of your monthly payment cant dictate how powerful you are. If you are in the financial position to afford £50 a month then well done but it should not give you a bigger say than a person on low income for whom £5 a month is a big part of their budget. We should all be in this for richer for poorer for better for worse. NO fans should be billy big baws because they can afford more

Stop being rational and absolutely correct and just think about who we will be playing in our first Championship game next season which of course will tell us we are Prem bound. This forum is a superb read. Beat Clyde 2-0 and we are gonna win the league. Lose 2-0 to Kelty and it’s a disaster.
As others have said, let’s see if we can beat Airdrie or Dunfermline first before we even think about finishing first.
I am happy we are creating lots of chances to win games and look to have a great spine, especially with Donaldson and McGinn. But let’s take into the games against our promotion rivals.

I remember that we started not bad then dropped of a cliff after the QP game

How many points did we have at the first 1/4 last season ?

If we win every game from now until the end of the season there is a good chance of promotion.*
*Taken from the book of stating the obvious1 -
Big game next week at Phead. They beat Kelty with 10 men for a lot of the game and got a draw yesterday. Will be on a bit of a high. No walkover

Got the feeling McGinn is loving the role of best player on the park.

i thought the ref and linos were pretty anonymous which is really a compliment in this league

Do you go to specsavers or do they come to you?Sexy b*****d-1 -
According to wiki he has only scored 7 goals since 2015 so he will be over the moon tonight! Done son

Perhaps the Kelty result was not as bad as we thought. Looks like they are a team who can raise their game against the better teams and struggle against the rest. As McGlynn said this league will produce a good few surprises

Looked at the bench and thought WOW. When did we last have a bench who are all ( well almost ) capable of doing a job ?Amidst the grim PR disaster it's good we have a juicy game to get our teeth into.
Feels like we've hit a right good spell of form so hope we can carry that on.1 -
We need someone to donate anonymously £400000 and say it is for FSS. Right lads i want every one to search down the back of chairs and couches. i just have so we now need £399998.64p. Get searching gang

It comments like this that give me the fear. If only Falkirk could produce what fans think they should but invariably we duff it!This game could get real real messy.. for Clyde obviously-1 -
Had a refreshing look at pre match McGlynn and Yeats and have now discovered the club is not all doom gloom and wo is me. Looking forward to watching a football match as that is what matters
Yes I think it’s time to stop getting all worked up over some misguided wording, and look at the bigger picture here which is safeguarding the future of our club today…..5 -
I think they are trying their best on paper to get the people who nominally pledged to donate then have not. No one knows more than me the impact the current financial crisis is having on people and their families as i often work with the less financially affluent and see it ruining lives. But if this email can get a couple of hundred who perhaps can afford a small amount a month then it is great. Hope it does as selling shares to someone who has a different agenda to the fans would be very sad.The 90%/10% comment is what everyone is focused on though so the rest of the message isn’t as impactful.
I really don’t get how a group of successful people, supposedly with a high level of business acumen could proof read that and not pick up on it.0 -
When the questionnaire about signing up before The Campbell Fiasco around 1500 people pledged no sign up i seem to remember. That was the numbers then but ........

But that was against a weakened Falkirk side so does not count ! Like us via Partick according to the neighsayers
