Firstly we only want to play these games, if everyone involved is safe, and the Covid19 isn't a factor, let me make it clear that peoples lives come first.                             I am obviously bias, but if we can get the two semis, and final played some time in June, July, it would only take a week to do it. Two semis one weekend and the final the following. Obviously with the same players that were signed this season. I think you will find that the other teams in the semis would probably agree. Anyone on here would want to play these games if it was safe and their team were involved, as they are the biggest games of the season, it is the CL of our Amateur football.

Next I am just fishing here, and looking for opinions. We have two players suspended for the semi, and one of them is now, because the rest of our season ending, suspended for both big games, He has a two match ban for 5 yellow accumulations, and a sending off for two yellows in his last match. They both could have had their bans up if there were other cup and league games to play, none of them were for violent conduct. Personally, I think they need to change this rule, to allow players who if we are honest, might only get one chance in a lifetime to play in these games. The yellow cards picked up in the Champions League, and World Cup, from the start of the group stages are wiped out after the quarter-finals were completed. This is done to give all players a clean slate going into the semi-finals. The rules were altered in order to give players the best possible chance of playing in the finals.

I would like the SAFA should adapt this, so players can play in these games, the players could serve their bans at the start of the next season, or the next game they play. We had a player who got banned from the final two years ago for just that, 5 yellows in about 50 games previous to the final that season, I really felt for the boy, it was terrible. I think they should do the same, in the Scottish, and maybe the regional cups as well, then everyone is equal from the semi, and it gives players a chance to play in these big games, with all 4 teams at full strength. It makes for better games, and If a player gets justifiably sent off in the semi, no one could complain, as they would deserve banned for the final.

I am just interested on peoples thoughts on this, and what players and managers think, no abuse please, I've got a bus pass now.

I think your spot on cunny it’s a shame as u say a once  in a lifetime game for most players but don’t hold your breath on the blazers seeing it that way.what I would say is if your sent off in the semi final for violent conduct or something then tough shit deal with it

Agreed. Its a stupid situation where leagues may null and void a season (which most seem to be doing,) and players move clubs. Then they start playing the Scottish Cup etc with different players. A decision should be made by the SAFA that all leagues follow so that its done the same across yhe board.

Totally agree safa should be taking the bull by the horns and saying all leagues null and void . Think only central Scottish and Stirling are still trying to finish seasons come on boys wake up and smell the coffee

  3. So if leagues are going null and void you then have boys moving on to new teams for the new season how can you possibly play out the Scottish and west . All leagues must come to the same conclusion in these difficult times

Taking in my first junior game for a wee while , Johnstone Burgh v Maybole at sunny keanie park . Burgh 2-0 up and got to say impressed with their organisation and the way the try to keep playing football. Two boys up front for then seem a real handful.

    Great to be back!

7 out of 7 for the Burgh good young squad who are totally loyal to the manager so the days of neilston arthurlie etc cherry picking best players are over we hope

I spoke to the Pollok keeper, Jordan, recently who said that the manager has asked each of the first team players to pick an academy team and then every so often turn up at their training session and either just to show face and chat with the lads or participate in some way.  Not sure how far this has gone yet but its a good idea and definitely will have  a good effect on the youth players wanting to become first team players like the current stars.  I will say Jordan is an advocate of the youth teams at Pollo and has turned up quite a few times off his own back to come and watch some of the Pollok youth teams over the years.  I remember he came in the rain to watch the 03s play against BSC and all the young players watching, some players from the younger teams surrounded Jordan at times and they all loved it that he way there to watch.

Wouldn’t expect anything less from Jordan true gent

  6. Took in the annbank Johnstone Burgh game today boy Mckim has built a nice young team there tried to play football on what can only be described as a coup of a park . Some good banter with annbank fans as well but wish the burgh boys would tell the tit who spouts the rule book to the ref the whole game to stay at home was the wife on a Saturday he would give an askit a sore heed 2-6 at annbank a decent score

All sorts of (malicious?) rumours floating about that Colville won’t see the end of next week after today’s result, which was a conclusion a lot of folk came to a few weeks back of course.

    In other chat,
How are Dynamo and Lesmahagow finding playing both Saturday and Sunday? Is the Saturday performance affecting the Sunday performance?

A 6 hour round trip to Oban on a Saturday is bound to produce some casualties.

    Aye nae bother ISA

So the season is up and running!

The Big Guns have laid doon a marker or 2!

Fantastic 3pts for Stpatz at broadwood..managed to catch some it on way to fringe!

Eastfield average on the day but the big no.4 for saints is Rolls Royce material....Does he git paid?? Must do!

Why does a good player have to get paid

Few folk at medda Park the day willing to pay an admission fee to our bitterest rivals but yet to set foot in the new Buffs Park and give the team they support cash. Bit disappointing but hopefully they liked what they saw and change there mind and head back into the fold

Find that hard to believe fans will pay into rival grounds but not there own if that’s the case then not a true fan forget them and move on . Encourage the youngsters and forget the dinosaurs

Central league rapidly declining. Few more clubs likely to go in the next few weeks I hear as well. The standard of the lower divisions are only helped by a couple of new clubs with decent pedigree. The top league is littered with disciplinary issues.

And what issues would that be

A helleva lot of people ive spoken to are of the opinion that the committee are to.blame as well as they stood back and let mick install his win at all costs model...(can deny players were not paid till the cows come home but we all know the truth) they knew what was going on but allowed it to happen. Ive got to agree.

Now it may be the end of the club.

So when you are calling the players a disgrace remember and call you and your committee pals a disgrace as well.

What a load of shite u talk for the one guy

I really hope they do survive, I’m sure for Andy and Joe seeing this through will mean just as much as winning trophies, however hard it will be at time.

Your 100% correct on that tug if you cut joe his blood would be blue and white and Andy has been there 50 years hard to let hat go. I would still be there but health issues forced me to give it up I really hope it works for them

I know been covered but maybe wrong are you not part of committee at Colville during the golden years ? . Players come and go if you are who I think you are you never complained when Mick took players away leaving other clubs short of best players !!! . The fact is it’s a short career unless attached to amateur club from a young age to a club players go where they have a chance to win or play with friends .

Feel for hard working guys at clubs who lose players but the fact is less successful clubs than Colville lose players and survive , if it’s all about winning club won’t survive end off .

Think u will find club will survive tug maybe not be as successful but will survive

It doesn't sound good for Colville. Be a bit embarrassing for the amateur game if they do call it a day and don't take there place in the big Scottish. Fingers crossed they pull something out the bag and can continue. It just shows the challenges amateur teams face now if a team with there recent success are struggling to attract players...good luck to all involved with Colville now and hope you's find a way to keep going

I’m sure the boys will turn it round joe and Andy have done it before they were in a worse position before then they brought in big Gerry they won’t give up that’s for sure

  19. After all that was done for the boys over the years it’s a disgrace the way some of the former players have treated the committee who bent over backwards and more for them only ones who went to Darvel and Chrissy Craig showed any respect towards them
