  1. Because it was cheap, the Bank kept offering and he kept taking. Then interest rates went up, increasing the debt pile and boom.
  2. I must be wrong. I was sure the PE teacher was some baldy ginger guy.
  3. I fancy taking on Marseille. I’ve held a grudge for 30 years…
  4. Years since Ive been out drinking in Dundee but was a real fan of Tickety Boo.
  5. I’ll add a view, albeit from 15 years or so ago so things may have moved on since my experience. You are, hopefully, a couple of grown ups - your childrens’ situation has maybe forced that on you both. Try and sit down and agree the bones of what you both want. For us, I had the kids Mon/Tues, she Thurs/Fri and we alternated Weds and weekends. That was helped (probably significantly) by me moving out only a couple of hundred yards away rather than to a completely new town. Everything, I thought, was agreed and equitable until she decided to get a Solicitor involved who essentially ripped up all that we agreed, started from first principles, took several months and a couple of grand later to end up basically back where we started. Legal advice is essential. But if you can both agree something and keep the attack dogs at bay that I think is hugely valuable. I’ve seen this movie, I’ve been in this movie. It’s horrible for a time but you should all come out of it happier and for the better at some point, just hopefully try your best to make it sooner rather than later. Best of luck.
  6. A couple of years ago the chap in front of me at Morrison’s that evening had 1/2doz tubs of pre cut pineapple and a bottle of rosé wine. I think the lucky young lady (I assume) was in for a fun night.
  7. On my experience on waiting for the return flight home I commented that there was a rather attractive young lady travelling alone. My gf pointed out to me that she was the one whose boyfriend had kicked off on the flight on the way out. When we landed in Ibiza he got huckled off by the Guardia - it seems you are then held in a cell until the local judiciary eventually get round to hearing your case. I believe that can be some time as the Court system gets kinda busy with bams over the summer and you are just added to the back of the queue. Once dealt with (usually a fine) you are then papped back out onto the street and left to find your own way home with one airline less that will take you. Guy lost his holiday, (probably) his girlfriend and his job when he eventually returned home several weeks late. Not that I have ever contemplated being an erse on a plane but I think if it was laid bare in such plain terms even the most determined of nutjob would think twice.
  8. I was having a wee wind up with a good Jambo pal earlier in the week and ended up having to back myself. We’ll see…
  9. 6.30am flight to Ibiza on a Saturday morning where half the passengers seem to have pulled an all nighter. Bedlam. The gf I was with at the time was mortified that they had armed police at Glasgow airport shepherding us ON to the plane.
  10. Aye. It’s bad enough a fight kicking off in a busy pub but one two rows in front of you in a pressurised metal cylinder 35,000ft up and suddenly everything gets very claustrophobic. It’s not fun.
  11. I may be misremembering but was there not all sorts of disquiet about whether Naismith was up to the job in the early part of the season? And now he’s on some streak. What’s changed?
  12. Bring back the belt. Never did me any harm.
  13. I had the exact same last year. I emailed the senior partner Lee Wallacing the lazy little c**t and *boom* instant 5* service.
  14. Eh, haud oan. Quote one is a week ago, quote two is now. WTF you feeding him?!?
  15. PTTGOMN - @KnightswoodBear wtf - please - is the punchline with the eating disorderless woman of color Alison Hammond. Please!?!? I’ve just skimmed 10/12 pages and not even gleaned a hint of an answer. Cnut.
  16. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024/02/19/alexei-navalny-mother-lyudmila-refused-access-body-morgue/ Navalny's widow claims he was poisoned with novichok and his body is not being released until the nerve agent has dissipated from his body. An interesting (wrong word) test of the unnatural causes rule but I suppose we can only go with the official cause of death on the (seemingly questionable) Russian post mortem certificate?
  17. Navalny’s bruised body has seemingly now been found. The Russians say the head bruises are consistent with him having fallen over after suffering a seizure and the chest bruises with the CPR administered to try and resuscitate him. There’s a whole other story about how confirmed corroborated reports of his death all emerged in very short order thereafter (like 15 minutes after). Almost like they knew he’d be having a seizure and everything was in place…
