  1. Absolutely the opposite is true in my experience. Declare every ding and fault on the online form and they’ll keep the offer respectable to reel you in. Once you’re on the lot they’ll absolutely decimate the price for every new and undeclared thing they find. I think they work on the premise that by the time you’ve ended up on site you’ve mentally committed to just ditching the car.
  2. I suspect he was anticipating the bulk of the traffic to come up the M6 and hang a left onto the A75.
  3. Your location isn’t clear but for St Mirren fan I’m guessing your in the west. Why the aversion to the ferries? First time I went to Portavadie I came back via the RabT; after a landslide funnily enough. Since then - to me - the ferry is an absolute hands down no-brainer of a winner.
  4. I’m no fan of the incumbent administration but they do have to be given credit for the infrastructure they have delivered, even if the business cases were fundamentally pauchled just to suit their electoral needs or the delivery has been a muck up. Off the top of my head: Alloa rail link. Big part of the business case was to take the rail traffic to Longannet off the Forth Bridge and free up capacity. Within 10 years they decide coal is obsolete and shut the power station but the railway remains. Business case flawed but an infrastructure win. M8 motorway its full length. A good thing. Queensferry Crossing. Even if occasionally unusable in chilly weather. Glen Sannox. Still gathering barnacles at Port Glasgow. Maintaining a cargo airbase at Prestwick for occasional use by Ryanair drunks. The Aberdeen bypass, talked about for years but only done under the SNP. Although it did end up costing 3x it’s original budget. Average speed cameras on A77 and A9 which have undoubtedly cut road deaths. And they are - the only ones yet to grasp the nettle - getting on with dualling the A9, even if at a snails pace. So - my view is you can’t fault their commitment but I do think there’s an awful lot of toon cooncil tin pottery in the mix. And before the McGlashans among PnB come hounding, no I don’t think any other party would have delivered anything close to a fraction of the above list.
  5. Took me til about 35 to work out that most women are cock daft.
  6. QQ: I’ve a meeting with work scheduled in Glasgow next week with four of us - one from each of London, York, Newcastle and me that will inevitably involve dinner and they are then booked into a hotel for the night (steady now). Presumably we’ll be breaking the law?
  7. That Mixu chap is running some kind of audit over on GN. Is there any way we can find out the most prolific poster on this one? obsessed? Pah!
  8. VTs just off the phone; he’d like his patter back?
  9. Would need to know the size of her chebs before coming to a conclusion on that.
  10. I’m only fiddling here but I know you don’t like NS, I get that. But realistically, no party outside the SNP will deliver independence. So, without NS, here’s the current odds for the next SNP leader. Eek Mackay still being quoted should maybe offer some indication of the depth of the talent pool available?
  11. ‘mon to f**k Todd. I admire your hard work, self belief and damned indefatigably on this thread but how is Scotland going to become independent without NS or the SNP? Where’s the political charisma and message, seemingly (to me anyway) currently well hidden from view, that’ll unlock the whole process and deliver that without them both?
  12. Does this also imply the Testing Centres in Dundee and Glasgow are maxed out? Or how about just stay in the house for 24hrs and get tested locally the next day? The public health message, to me, now seems to be getting a bit pant wettingly hysterical. Thank fook I don’t have kids at school any more.
  13. Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ Jack Sherman carks it: https://www.nme.com/news/music/red-hot-chili-peppers-pay-tribute-to-former-guitarist-jack-sherman-who-has-died-2734931?amp In my team loaded with musicians it seems I couldn’t hit a coo’s erse this year.
  14. That’s quite the effort you’ve gone to there chief. Slow day?
  15. I think what he was trying to say was that he’d lost his way.
  16. Aye. Mainly self preservation ‘legal’ reasons.
  17. No fan of Salmond despite his evident charisma. No fan of Wark, largely due to her distinct lack of same charisma. But mainly her matey-ness with Mr & Mrs Blair. However. I tend to agree with the jury. Inappropriate behaviour but not proven as criminal. Meanwhile, Swinney refuses to hand over their papers to the enquiry: https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2020/aug/17/alex-salmond-scottish-government-refuses-to-hand-legal-papers-to-inquiry you do the math. As they say.
  18. Naw ya dafty. Of 82 restaurants registered for the scheme in Stirling, none are Chinese. Sheesh!
  19. The Eat Out to Help Out scheme lets HMRC wade into the restaurant's business, its turnover and takings. Amazing the number of Chinese restaurants in Stirling that have not signed up for the scheme.
