  1. Can’t really argue with any of the above, I would also add that although Irvine wasn’t great he at least appeared to try hard and care, the defeats seemed to hurt. Ray doesn’t give a flying fudge, or at least that’s the impression I get.
  2. That was horrific today, what must the ‘84 players and management thought. The modern players are probably better athletes but each of those old guys had more skill and football brains than anything on show today. Nditi and Munro were good but the rest were clueless. We looked safe but have quickly fallen into the mire again, can’t see us getting anything next week up north so it’s definitely squeaky bum time.
  3. The wind is picking up, bright and sunny right now but rain forecast for later. It’s fairly mild temperature too.
  4. They were every bit as good as legend has it. I think we should resign Clark, Liddell and McDonald for the day.
  5. I don’t think the Loons are out of danger just yet. That’s not to say they’ll be attacking and positive.
  6. I went to watch Lochee v Kirrie when we were away to Stranraer, really enjoyed it and, as you say, several ex Loons in the ‘Chee ranks. I’d rather pop through to their games than travel to away games right now.
  7. It’s starting to feel like Forfar Athletic are a feeder club for a big Dundee team, that being Lochee United
  8. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it was our 15th draw in 30 games
  9. For the record, the “Forfar fans” causing the bother referred to in the club statements were not present at the Clyde game or yesterday and have hopefully decided to stay away. The group in question were new faces, not supporters and clearly only there for one purpose. Clyde fans didn’t abuse Forfar players before Andy Munro celebrated in front of them? Eh, no that’s certainly not true.
  10. Sounds about right, particularly the bored part. That said this week’s opposition fans are a decent bunch so we can be comfortably bored rather than watching out for knuckle draggers wanting to fight folk and having to take an alternative route out of the ground for the safety of our kids.
  11. It’s been fairly frequent that when a Forfar player or manager wins a monthly award it precedes a disastrous next game
  12. The Clyde fans set themselves right up beside the Fan Zone, which yesterday housed the players from the 2014 Community Club squad. It’s long been tradition in the lower leagues, where possible, to change ends at half time, something I remember doing at Shawfield back in the day. For that reason I would lay the blame with the new Forfar stewarding team. Regards yesterday, yes the young Forfar fan in the white jacket was goading the Clyde fans, his conduct is not for me but it says more about the Clyde fans’ reaction than it does about him. There was one older Clyde fan giving the Forfar fans stick from well before that. We recently had a group of youngsters that came for three games and were intent on trouble, thankfully they appear to have got the message to stay away. Interestingly one young local fan I know was at Stranraer last week and asked their supporters, who were peacefully standing alongside each other, about the trouble with Clyde the week previous. Their version of events was Clyde fans “attitude” was the issue. Which brings me to my final point, most games pass with no trouble but there seems to be a common denominator and it’s a small section of Clyde fans, just saying….
  13. Maybe club 42 will be the one that doesn’t dish out a humping between now and the end of the season? I hope I’m wrong as I suspect that could be us….
  14. That was an absolute disgrace today, had you offered me a draw before the game kicked off I would’ve been happy (notwithstanding the other results today). Cruising the first half then to capitulate a 3-0 advantage Defend at the front, clear your lines at every opportunity, keep possession as much as you can, it’s not rocket science. There’s negative and there’s suicidal tactics. Defending deep against a pretty slick team is rarely going to work, not recognising that down the left flank is where they’re getting penetration is amateur. Honestly, if we held on at 3-2 it would’ve still felt like a defeat. The pitch invasion at the equaliser,, as always our stewards failed miserably. The one that decided that running about for ages gesturing gets thrown out, really should’ve been lifted and received a banning order, school boy or not. Full time outside, more trouble from this new mob that I’d never seen at Station Park before the Hibs game, now causing trouble every week. The security manage to hound out a few sets of young ones before that were really no trouble, largely just youthful exuberance but this new lot are intent on bother yet aren’t getting the same attention?
  15. I took this game in today (had planned to follow the Loons to Dumbarton but been ill all week and didn’t have the energy to travel that far), I’m glad I did, very entertaining game involving two teams putting in the effort to play and entertain. A comfortable enough win for Montrose though the score line slightly flattered them. Loved the fast pace by both teams, I’m too used to negative timid football at Station Park. Good luck for the rest of the season to both clubs.
  16. I wasn’t aware live streams on a Saturday afternoon were still a thing or even allowed.
  17. The group I’ll describe as the New Ultras were across at Gammie’s gate shouting abuse at the Spartans fans. While I’m usually first to criticise the stewards I would question where their powers end, is it solely within use walls of Station Park. I’m aware that the noisy group of Spartans ultras are all about 10 years old and this group of Forfar fans are 14/15 ish which is not on, no wonder the wee kids were scared. The police were there at the match, I heard that a number of flares were confiscated though I’m unaware who tried to bring them in. I’m not pointing fingers but the police had a long conversation in the first half with a couple who appeared to be with the away ultras.
  18. No disrespect to this young man, he may be, and probably is, a fine player if not now then in the future but right now we need warriors not young laddies. We have a fight to survive ahead of us and that requires players that are experienced in grinding out results, understanding survival. What I see, and I hope I’m wrong, is a young lad that will be excited at getting game time (maybe) but will soon realise they’re a boy in a man’s world.
  19. This /\ Apologies from the decent Forfar fans for the disrespectful thread title. Bonnyrigg are here on merit.
