5 years in The Championship & our home support appears to be decreasing, 400-odd season tickets sold for the upcoming campaign, a year or two ago it was over 600. An away day means £50-£60, few beers, food, transport etc. It's hard to justify that cash with other outgoings, and hard to watch some of the football too, sadly.

If we get relegated & were challenging for the League 1 title, would these home fans return??

    Food for thought indeed.

Did the decrease in Season Ticket Holders not coincide with a sizeable hike in the cost of the ticket? I seem to recall a big jump two or three years ago.

i doubt if they'd return imediately. Unless we're at the playoffs stage. Quite a few glory hunters turned up vs Airdrie in the year we won the playoffs.

Plus, they're all out playing games with their mobiles just now, chasing Pokemons. Much more fun than supporting the best part time team in Scotland, I guess.:1eye

400+ is still a good number of S/Tickets sold.

I don't feel great about this situation.

Annan were fantastic hosts to us when we won the Third Division Championship there.

I was the chairman of Gordon Lennon's Benefit fund which raised in excess of £23,000 for Gordon's family. The Annan players had a pre-season tournament which they won. They pooled and donated their bonus money which amounted to £500. In an extremely generous gesture Henry McClelland and his board at Annan matched the players efforts and sent a cheque for £1,000.

They are a good and generous club and I sincerely hope that everything is above board in relation to Josh Todd.

I agree with most of what you're saying, Wilf.

They gave us a fantastic welcome that memorable day.

But I suspect that this is nothing more than sour grapes from one or two fans, and as S08 says, Chapman overvaluing him.

He's signed as an amateur. There's nae tribunal to be had.

Nice to see you're taking it well.

    That was my point too.

If he's arrived as an Amateur, I don't know why we'd need to pay anything, tightfisted or not.

Will wear it with pride. I was the only one from our crowd in attendance on Saturday.
    See you soon

That was good of you to turn up. I steadfastly refuse to go and watch friendliest, as I view yet hem as nothing more than a training exercise for which you get mugged for a tenner :(

Went to get my top and 3/4 zipper from ttl. Finding the place was as difficult as trying on a xxl top. Sure we will see some sights at the Rock when they get delivered.
Cracking top and zipper good quality but Nade would have been xxxxxl in the top.

Aye, and you being an XXXXXXXXXXXXXL means they'll have to order them specially for you. :P

Good news that sons are taking the LC seriously....stevie wants to get thru to round 3

I should bloody well hope so - a manager should take every game seriously.

The only exception in our case should be when we're mathematically safe in the league.:thumsup2

Finished 2-1 to Stranraer tonight, decent even game and some good performances before the subs arrived and Stranraer started to dominate.

I'll post some more (if P&B can survive) later on.

The curse of Stranraer strikes again!

  8. The walk up crowd is a small part of our overall gate so shouldn't have a particularly big impact on crowd numbers. The biggest issue with this for me is convenience. Having to pick up tickets is annoying when I've got a wee book in my wallet that does me perfectly well for every other home game.

On a similar note - anybody received their season books yet?

    Not yet.

  9. miserable git that you are

That'll be two of us, then.

What I don't spend on friendlies, I'll spend in the club shop.

Really fancy a new mug, new top, a new pair of Sons' gloves, Sons welly boots and a copy of 'The Sons we're the ones" CD.

  10. Hibs is an interesting one, most people rightly regard them as a top flight club but if they fail again to get promoted, how long until they're seen as a championship club?

They're in the Championship, so they're a Championship club.

Rangers are in the top flight, so they are a top flight club.

    It's not a difficult concept.

How long you've been in a particular league shouldn't be a measure of what kind of club you are.
