    The Panthers? Booooo.

I say boooo but it's more meh. They're not as loathsome as the Cowboys or the Patriots.

Boo all you want. Only reason I got the Panthers top was because my name was on the back, and they didn't have a black and gold top with my name in the Florida shop I got it in.

I actually got stopped by an excited woman in a shopping mall who declared she "was a Panthers fan too". I fair burst her bubble when I told her why I got the top in the first place.

I presume with tight arms the top's as tight as the home one. In which case I'll be going nowhere near it. I previously commented on the home top being too tight for us larger blokes and won't be buying any more tops until we either go back to a baggy style or they consider making a bigger size fitted top for larger folk.

I get it suits the young trendites amongst you. I'll now need to think about buying another teams top for 5 a-side as a my older sons tops are all getting a bit too old now. Shame!

I've got a Carolina Panthers football top you could use, if you like. It's so big you can get two of me in it, and you know how slim I am (not).

Only problem with it that it's got my name on it, not Sons'r'us.

anyhow, if you're still playing fives, how come your tops don't fit? You should be as fat as a greyhound. :P

I do not see that you said anything to him for the red dot he gave me when i congratulated the effort of sons24.Balance  is important i believe.

Ach, and here was me thinking you had fat finger  trouble. I only asked in case you made a mistake.

Enjoy your petty tit for tat tussle, then.

Act like a tit, I'll treat you like one as well.

Just like everyone else seems to do.

This lad sounds like he's EXACTLY what we need. Actually sounds fairly similar to Jamie Lindsay. Very pleased with this one.

#sons24 and the 3 signings have me feeling right up for it now. Our threadbare squad is now looking to have a bit more depth.

Should we expect anymore? I know Stevie had mentioned wanting another striker...

Messi is en-route as I type.

  5. Agree with others about Brown. Not the worst goalie I've ever seen, but he just goes through the motions.

He has no fire in his belly, and although he might just see his contract out on the bench (I hope), at least if he's stuck on the bench, he's not leaking goals like a sieve leaks water.

I already have and i'm doing our 1st home game against Dundee utd. Is that me just gave away who I am? Come to think of it, as it is you plugging it can I expect to meet you around 2.30 on the 13th August.

When you meet each other, you'll be astounded that you are each other's Doppelgänger.

Main positive from tonight is that I left before the rain came down.

Woeful game on a woeful pitch between two teams who looked more comfortable with the ball in the air than at their feet.

I had similar thoughts. Shite game on a shite pitch by two shite teams, one being slightly more shittier than the other, in a shite ground with shite weather. Worst of all, it absolutely pelted down with rain just after full time.

Bankies deserved to win. Nobody in a Sons jersey really got my hopes up. Hoof ball a lot of the time, and more misplaced passes than I could count. We're destined for a sixth place finish in the Championship..........:).

Wouldn't have taken anyone from that pile of shite.

Did I mention shite anywhere in my rant?

(edited to add two missing words)

You might be right but I can see it being 350 at least because some people, particularly older supporters might not have been at the East Fife game and will see this as a chance to see us in 'competitive' action before the season starts.

Nope, I won't be there. The manager seems to be treating this competition as a training exercise, so will I.

Looking forward to the season, though, despite the doommongers and naysayers on here.

i'm with SonofaBankie. We've beaten the odds for four years.

    What's another year.........?!

5-0 win v Alloa last season got 274. Tomorrow won't be anywhere near that because it's our first weekend home game and some people will see that as the first chance to see us.

Sons Fan and I were two of the "crowd" that night. We hadn't even planked our erses on the seat when young Donald stepped up after 19 seconds to save us the hassle of sitting down.

...........He all seems to be slowly breaking to pieces every time he is touched. As well as this he has sat on his arse the whole game instead of making an option upfront..............

Reminiscent of Beanie and Kane (second loan spell) IMO

How hard would it be to write something a bit more respectful sounding than this?

"Dumbarton look set for another battle against the drop having lost key men Christian Nade and Jon Routledge over the summer. Despite the eye catching additions of Ryan Stevenson and Andy Stirling, Stevie Aitken looks to have his work cut out to keep the Sons in the Championship for their 6th consecutive season". That would've been far better.

Your version - written by a fan and pretty well-written too, as expected of a blogger/aspiring journalist (ITK etc etc).

The newspaper version - flung together by a drunken tabloid scribbler. Typical poorly-written shite by a lazy hack.

The loss of gilbert lawrie coupled with overspending would almost certainly bring about the above.I understand the club have been able to get the new players in on reasonable wages (very reasonable when you consider JT).This prudent financial approach will insure we will have a club to support. However whatever happens with BRABCO is anyones guess and it is a bit of a damocles sword from that point of view.Given we own our ground i would hope that whatever the fallout we will always have a club to support.

Can I please try to sum up your post.........f**k Brabco.

Anyone who hides behind Brabco, no matter who they are, are c***s.

Real football fans don't need to hide.

You've taken a pounding of late. I support your post on this occasion.

Yeah, probably more fun than the mundane nature of scraping safety of eighth, but if you gave me a choice between the two, there's no way I'd prefer the play-offs.

Me neither. Who, in their right mind, would prefer paying an additional £70-80 plus travel and food etc, just to fend off relegation?

    f**k that!

Are you coming up to Apache country for the Bankies game?

Quite likely. Maybe turn up in Apache Country with my Arabs-supporting mate (formerly of the Vale, Dalmuir and now Paisley) just to give It an international flavour.

And as long as my sat nav can find the way on such a long, complex journey............

I have never seen DFC in any other league. I started after watching the conga at Airdrie.
I have enjoyed every season as we have achieved our goal of survival.
To survive we need to have a part time squad who exceed and a full time squad who don't.
I like Stevie and think if he had the money we would survive. Currently we don't have the money to have a squad who will exceed. This is the smallest squad I have witnessed. So please don't blame the management.

I am an ex old firm but hate being called this when I buy my season ticket, tops and 3/4 top. When asked who I support it's Dumbarton I reply.

Don't you worry, I'm always around to remind you of your past. :P

Only kidding, we who sit with you are delighted you turned the other (erse) cheek.

As you know, I'm currently trying the same with Thirdrock Jnr.

Well that was my last game in charge of your pitch. I've had some highs and lows in the last couple of years but thoroughly enjoyed it. All the best for the season ahead and hope you guys stay up once again. Cheers Buster.

Cheers Buster, all the best. You've done us proud.

No' sure if I like the sound of your replacements, though.

    Are they Tinkers?
