  1. Just quite pathetic and sad, really. If Dundee United were selling the Shed to their own fans and sticking us into a corner instead, I'd have no real issue with that. There's a limit to how far you should go with that, away supports are an integral part of the game, but if you can sell a seat to a home supporter, it makes complete sense that that's your priority and your prerogative as the home club. To give the away support a full stand and only make part of it available, when there's comfortably enough supply for the rest, is just indicative of the small-minded attitudes that permeate right across the decision making class in Scottish football. You're locking out people who make the game what it is. People who are willing to put their hands in their pockets and pay, quite frankly, way over the odds to be a part of something. And they'll enhance the occasion, make it a better spectacle, and if you want to get into marketing talk, improve the 'product'. Possibly the biggest strength that Scottish football has is its match-going supporters. Dundee United choosing to limit the away support in a stand that's already open is a sign of a football club whose leadership is small-minded, panicking and with no clear idea of it's place in Scottish football.
  2. Is it inherently middle class to have a beard? Have you seen the price of razors?
  3. Just said the same thing. That's not enough for a second yellow, but he's not getting another one like it. Took us half an hour to realise that Thistle really don't want to be defending, and we can build up a bit of pressure by just knocking a couple of passes around. As expected, Thistle's movement is causing us bother. Easton and Dick don't look comfortable handing off McMillan and Lawless to one another, and that situation is exacerbated when Fitzpatrick drifts across to that wing too. We've defended the box well and we'll need more of that. I don't see Thistle getting stronger with the options on their bench, so hopefully we can improve as the game goes on.
  4. Looking at the line-ups from the weekend and I think it's fair to say that both sides are significantly stronger in attack than they are in defence. Thistle's front four is as good as any in the division but behind them is there anyone other than McMillan who's really ideally who you'd want in that position? I don't think it's particularly insightful or controversial to say that there are goals in this game for the Rovers if they apply themselves properly. The big challenge is going to be repeating Saturday's defensive performance. Even setting aside his supporting cast, Brian Graham is going to pose more of a direct attacking threat with his first touch than Alex Jakubiak did all afternoon. I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a repeat of the 4-3 from last time, but it really could go either way. It'll be interesting to see if either manager really embraces that spirit or whether either of them opts to prioritise covering their deficiencies at the back.
  5. Not just an extension. A three year extension. Three years!
  6. Aye you'll get parked on Murano Street for nothing. Five minute walk to the ground.
  7. It's difficult to see on the highlights but I was looking right at it, McCann trod on Stanton's heel. He doesn't know much about it and it's more unfortunate than anything, but it's definitely a foul.
  8. I was baffled by this at the time. The base of your midfield was dominating the game, but there was nothing happening in front of them. Getting McCann on made perfect sense, but Ritchie-Hosler had done absolutely nothing, Todd had disappeared and Summers wasn't much more than a busy fool. Any one of those three coming off would've made infinitely more sense than removing Otoo.
  9. I've no idea where they came from, but I absolutely adore them. There are others:
  10. Can't see the Pars being in any relegation bother. They'll be fine once they get Matty Todd and Kane Ritchie-Hosler back.
  11. We've been absolutely stinking, so it's a delight to be one up. Class shines through, I suppose.
  12. Ryan Stevenson had a better goals conceded per 90 than both Deniz Mehmet and Kevin Dabrowski do this season.
  13. If I was affiliated to Dunfermline, I'd be doing everything possible to avoid talking about the football too, to be fair.
  14. With Arbroath's goalie from the weekend, that's 4-0. As dominant a half as we've had all season.
  15. This kind of finger-in-the-ears attitude has been a significant contributing factor at most Scottish clubs that have run into financial difficulties. It's a good thing for Dunfermline that most of your fellow supporters at least appear to be a little more once bitten, twice shy.
  16. You're not buying "We budgeted to finish in the playoffs but we won the league by mistake and without those four extra games we lost a million quid"?
  17. Hey @Heid_The_Baw, just wondering, how did you get your username?
  18. For what it's worth (and I didn't get this from the horse's mouth but I do believe it to be true) I've heard that the Millen stuff is nothing to do with any sort of "lists" or anything of that nature. Just an old fashioned falling out between a player and a manager, essentially, no special aggravating factors.
