If you closed your eyes in a room with Neil McCann and Doolan, how would you know which one was talking?

The coldest I’ve ever been at a game was away at Stirling a few years ago and it wasn’t even a midweek.
Heavy snow was blowing directly into the faces of us all in the away end as we hung on for a draw against 10-man Stirling Albion… quite the pathetic fallacy for perhaps the club’s all-time nadir.

It seems I watched a different first half to everyone else on this thread! I thought the booing was harsh.
We know McPake loves a slow first half so by that standard I thought we were decent. Some nice build-up play at times and a few half decent chances. We were in control and I was confident we would be able to find a goal. It was very similar to a lot of our games last season, which isn’t a great sign for Arbroath.Based purely off of our own interactions with them, Arbroath seem even worse than Morton and must be in serious trouble. We may be nothing special at the moment but at least we can see there is a gap in quality between ourselves and the bottom two.

KANE AND TODD ARE BOTH ON THE PITCH

That midfield reminds me of the Peter grant era…

FINALLY we get to hear Kris Boyd discuss golf with Mike Dean. About as insightful as one might expect…

Finally landed myself a job back in Scotland. Got all moved over and have treated myself to my first pars season ticket in 5 years. Happy days!

I think Firhill is the only stadium in the country where I’ve watched the pars play from every one of the stands. And I include EEP in that!
Only ever seen us win there from behind the goals right enough.edit: I forgot Cowdenbeath existed. And by technicality I guess Dumbarton and Spartans can be added to this list.

Had an epiphany driving home from work listening to Willie miller, ‘Biscuits’ and Jane Lewis discussing the “rules and regulashons” at hearts with their manager situation.
In my 15 minute commute I didn’t hear a single word about the OF but also didn’t learn a single score or hear anything of any worth.
I realised the biggest issue might not be OF bias, it might in fact be that we are listening to a group of people who are all thick as mince.21 -
After McCann’s free kick yesterday, when’s the last time a pars player scored from so far out?
Obviously Todd last year against Clyde. For some reason I have a strong memory of Kyle McAusland scoring from 30+ yards in our car crash league one season. And way before that the Alex Burke goal. Doesn’t happen too often but there must be more0 -
Yesterday was my first game of the season so my first chance to see the new team:
Thought Summers was really good second half. Really liked how direct he was and almost scored a beautiful goal at the end.
Great to see KRH back and causing issues. Him, Summers, Todd and McCann is an exciting thought!
On McCann, his hold up play was decent at times but I don’t think we can play him through the middle. Much better out left.
This Sharp guy gave me Greg Fleming flashbacks with his inability to catch and command his box and that weak shot crawling past him. Need Mehmet back asap.
Comrie has bulked up a lot over preseason it seems.
O’halloran didn’t impress at all. Hopefully just an off-day.
After the Falkirk 2-2 I wrote Otoo off as a centre half. But I now take that back, I was impressed with him yesterday.
Sign a striker asap.
It was also a nice touch with the minutes applause for young Kray.

I think with McCormick along with him having served his sentence and shown remorse the victims' family said he'd served his time and everyone deserved to move on.
Looks like Glasgow City Council are looking into doing a NLC with Clyde and turfing Glasgow United out of their council owned facilities.
Absolute state of the replies to that tweet. At the very least the weirdos on here are anonymous, folk with their full name and photo defending him on FB and twitter seem almost proud of their stupidity.

I’m sorry to be the thread pessimist but the more I think about the Deniz situation, the more anxious it makes me.
I don’t buy the reasoning that he was offered 3 years to make up for a lowered wage. A 3 year deal is equally as frivolous as a short term high wage imo.
I’m all for tying down our young talent like Todd and KRH on longer deals and good on the club for doing so. But first Chalmers and now Deniz should not have been given this option. One good season in league one should not merit multiple years at a higher level, the reward is too high for what has been achieved. Chalmers was poor (as everyone was) when we went down but ask ayr fans what they think of him too.
These 2 should’ve been offered 1 year to prove themselves at that level. They earned that chance this season. If they didn’t accept then thanks for a good season and good luck, replace them. I do worry we are now saddled with players who won’t be good enough for the level above because of too much loyalty and perhaps even getting complacent about the step up in quality between the championship and league 1.
Of course I hope I’m wrong but it’s starting to feel as if long term deals were chucked about like confetti at everyone in the squad from this year. Yes we had a great season but if we are going to keep progressing we need to be a little more ruthless than what we’re seeing so far.

Can’t lie I’m a bit worried about this. The 3 year deal for KRH was great news but if we are going to be throwing long term deals at a lot of players it’s inevitable some come to bite us on the arse.
See the Falkirk thread for discussion about Brad McKay for a prime example.Deniz had a great season of course but didn’t look up to it last time at the level above. He’s not irreplaceable or a great coup like KRH. I really hope being too loyal to the group who won league 1 doesn’t hold us back next season.

I noticed in KRH latest interview that he mentions that ''He's trying to persude Otoo to return next season, but it's up to him'' Thought it would be up to our management if they wanted him back too. Maybe management have made it clear they want him back and enlisted Kane to bend his ear?
He would be great cover and competition at left centre back and left back. I was impressed with him as the season went on.
Not convinced Otoo would be up to the championship yet tbh. Looked particularly wobbly at Falkirk I thought but I trust McPake’s recruitment so if he thinks it’s a good idea then get him back.

Have the 2nd place teams ever done so poorly in the playoffs throughout the SPFL?
First leg results you’ve got Ayr lost 3-0, Falkirk lost 6-2 and Dumbarton lost 6-0
Very odd for 3 teams to all get ragdolled by teams they finished above over 36 games

As a Clyde fan, I would rather be in Falkirk’s position than our own…well supported, own ground and serious attempts at getting out the league. Yes they will have to tweak and change their model for longer term sustainability at times but it’s 100% better than our own position. They have an infrastructure They will get up sooner rather than later.
In fairness, your team has made a very serious attempt to get out of the league this season. Just maybe not how you’d have liked

Just imagine how bad this could have been if M&M were still in charge eh

A great season for sure that definitely surpassed my expectations. Let’s not get too carried away however, we gained 2 more points than cove managed last year and they’ve just finished rock bottom of the championship. Gotta keep improving the team

Airdrie this is your one shot of being the good guys, all neutrals on P&B are behind you. Don’t f**k it up.

Is there any update on Summers injury last night? With big players finally coming back I don’t think we should overlook the lad, I’d still have him in our strongest lineup and would be a loss.
