  1. Can't see any club willing to pay any sort of decent money for Easton given that he's out of contract in a few months. And if we did that, other clubs would basically up the price for any centre half we might be interested in. I noticed Dundee have told Zak Rudden and Cammy Kerr that they're free to find another club, but no mention of Ashcroft.
  2. Go back to Danny Smith and the guy who was Alan Kelly's patsy and it's very much a case of 5th time lucky.
  3. Dundee have signed a defender from Everton on a two and a half year deal so that might be the catalyst for putting Ashcroft out on loan.
  4. Ian Black made it into the Scotland team. Conversation closed.
  5. I only know that Watson played for a good bit of it (not sure if the whole game). Not sure either who scored our six goals.
  6. Lunchtime today. A few of the Balwearie pupils managed to catch a bit of it through the gate.
  7. He was apparently on his way out of Arbroath long before the fecht in the Dunfermline game.
  8. Heard his name linked with us a couple of weeks ago. Can't really say I've noticed him when we've played Arbroath so can't really give an opinion.
  9. There's no doubt the crowds have increased significantly, but it's worth remembering the free season tickets given to under 12s and the fact that we now give our attendances on "tickets sold" (whether season ticket holders are actually in the ground or not) rather than "clicks of the turnstile" which we did previously.
  10. I'm not sure we deserved to lose on the balance of play yesterday, but there's no escaping the fact that we've now shipped 11 goals in our last four home games and that's never going to lead to success. We were a bit unfortunate in front of goal with Ferrie making a great save from Connolly's free kick, then an absolute worldie from Hamilton's header and when he was beaten all ends up Gullan's free kick hits the underside of the bar. However, the second goal is the killer - not only leaving a player unmarked to head home, but the absolute shitshow that led to the corner. We also need to bin the two at the back nonsense when we're chasing an equaliser. It means we can't play out from the back and have to resort to lumping it forward to players with limited height. It also means the ball spends most of the time in the air and we have too many forwards in too little space tending to get in each other's way. I've maintained all season that Queen's Park were a decent team who were badly managed and if Davidson can solidify them without stifling their creativity I'd expect them to kick on. Absolutely appalling that stones were thrown at a QP bus yesterday. Absolutely indefensible and hopefully the culprits are caught and banned from Stark's Park.
  11. Surprised it hasn't started after losing to Airdrie last Saturday.
  12. I'm not sure where Patrick's board would have budgeted for them finishing in the league this season, but given that 3rd place brings significant prize money and looks like their worst outcome, and their gates have been decent, it's not unreasonable that they'll have a bit of breathing space to strengthen the squad in January.
  13. According to Scott Burns in the Record, Dundee will only sanction a loan move for Ashcroft once they've got reinforcements in.
  14. Why? Is there some sort of ongoing issue between the Maryhill Fleet and the Kennoway Boys?
  15. On the face of it, O'Reilly did well for us and he'll always be revered for his two goals last Tuesday. However, it's worth noting that he was dropped for what turned out to be our best defensive performance of the season, so far, on the 16th of December.
  16. I reckon it's probably less to do with money and more to do with length of contract. If we were to offer him 18 months there's a good chance he stays, but offer him a contract to the end of the season and there's a good chance he goes.
  17. Or as Yogi Hughes once opined when in charge of Inverness - "We're daein great three quarters of the way up the park, but letting oorsells doon in the final third".
  18. The BBC's stats tell a different story. Airdrie edged the first game through there by a single goal, but there wasn't a lot in it. However, yesterday they were miles better all over the park. They were much slicker in possession and got first contact on virtually every cross into their box.
  19. We have been absolutely expert at such things all season, never more so than at Tannadice three weeks ago. Deservedly beat by a better team today. Unfortunately, I think we're now seeing what Stanton brings to the team.
  20. We got what we deserved, but no excuse for the lack of discipline. Needless booking for Easton and an even more crazy red for Millen.
  21. You deserved your win (again), but that's a low blow.
  22. Millen just been red carded in the tunnel after behaving like an absolute clown after the final whistle.
