Any reason this game is on the telly, noticed earlier it’s going to be on the BBC Scotland channel. Quite happy about that as I think it could be a cracker!

I think it's just a case of the BBC using up their quota of games. The date wasn't moved for the telly - it was originally meant to be on the first weekend in February, but we had our diddy cup semi with Airdrie.

Did the boy who did this not get sacked from the programme?

These days he'd be head of media output

The guy involved posts regularly on here and is one of the reasoned and insightful posters.

I think his take on it was that if people are uncomfortable with the truth, that's their problem.

I think its a bit more nuanced. There is no doubt for me the shitty behaviour is probably the worst it has been in my lifetime

Economics has a big part to play for me, if you look at the history of football violence then it seems worst at times of poor economic performance, I think that results in 2 things, 1.  poor prospects for youngsters resulting in anger.  2. and probably more of a factor, policing numbers, you look at the number of officers patrolling things along links street and they just aren't anywhere enough to take control of things, their best hope is to arrest the worst offenders, but when they are forced to watch guys launching flares from 10ft away from them and can't take action there's a massive problem.

It's not just numbers of police officers, it's strategy.

I'm not blaming one set of fans any more or less than the other for the aggro on Links Street, but when most of the Pars boys are coming from the High Street, surely the police should be escorting them up Milton Road, which brings them closer to the away end anyway.

The flashpoint is always outside the Estuary pub where Rovers fans are smoking and vaping outside, so surely diverting the Pars fans away from there reduces the chances of trouble.

October 2021, things were back to norm by then. Was no restrictions in the home end, because I remember we missed 5 mins getting in, it was packed. We’d beat Thistle 4-1 live on the telly the week before, probably the last positive performance before we shit the bed.

I thought Grant was still in charge at the October 2021 game and I thought you never won a  league game under him?

There was a game in April just after we won the diddy cup, but our league form was abysmal - would that have been the game you're referring to?

Biggest laugh of the day for me was the long haired w****r (No 36?) rolling about on the touchline like someone had broken his ankle, Easton gets booked and suddenly he jumps up, absolutely nothing fucking wrong with him.

Fair play tho' he played the ref and bought our player a yellow.

To be fair, Easton deserved a yellow for the challenge, but the antics from the right back on the ground were beyond embarrassing.

I definitely had a picture of it before, and may actually have got it from someone on here, but does anyone have an image of the Rovers programme from the mid 90’s that ended each Dunfermline player bio with “Won’t be playing in the UEFA Cup next season”?

6th May 1995. We'd have won the league if we'd won that day, but it ended 0-0 and we'd to wait another week.

Where’s the best place between the train station and Starks Park for a pint please?

The Beveridge Park hotel is next to the station, but haven't been in it for a few years.

Other than that, there's nothing directly en-route. The Novar (likely to be rammed) and the Abbotshall are a few minutes off track.

I believe most Pars fans congregate in O'Connell's, next to Sports Direct on the High Street.

Ahead of Saturday, Nutmeg Magazine reports on the mixture of pettiness, edginess and clever marketing which has made Raith v Pars arguably the third biggest active derby in the country this season.

    My nutmeg mag arrived today.

First time I've seen it properly.

    Very impressive.

Looking at the ticket prices - they are too expensive in my opinion... but they reflect the going rate and the price structure seems to be working given the attendance levels.

If you look at the pricing across the leagues. Annan (second bottom of the bottom tier) are charging £16 per adult . We charge £24 per adult at 'premium' games or £22 at other matches. So we are £6 more expensive than a team at the bottom end of the professional league pyramid.

In terms of the direct comparison with DAFC - we aren't technically more expensive. The pricing structure is just different. We don't charge for kids - you do. I know that not everyone brings children to games, but if you did Starks would be cheaper no matter the game.

I would love the entry price to be £10 per adult, but that wouldn't pay the bills.

Annan are in league one - only one tier below us.

A better example would have been East Fife - they're charging £18 for league two football.

     those ticket prices are stinking.

I committed to going a few weeks ago or I'd swerve it.

Not sure of the big issue with ticket prices - an adult taking an under 12 to this game will save a fiver compared with the New Year game at East End.

Personally, I don't agree with increasing prices for certain games - it gives the opposition a sense of importance, but the fact we've filled so much of the ground in the games against Dunfermline and Dundee United suggests that the pricing isn't far off the mark.

What's the best place to go post match for something to eat, ideally would have the football on aswell.

The Novar is decent, but will probably be mobbed. The Abbotshall, across the road, had recently reopened and is getting good reviews. Less than a ten minute walk from the ground.

The Indian restaurants are all at the far end of the High Street and are unlikely to have football on.

How he restarted with the drop ball is technically correct. If the game stops inside the box it's always with the defending goalkeeper regardless of who had possession.

Spot on. It's a terrible rule in my opinion, but it's the rule just the same. Folk at all clubs get themselves into a seething mess over it, but should check facts before launching a tirade at the officials.

With respect, I don't agree. Whilst the OP has plenty of form with Morton fans for his outspoken (and largely unpopular) opinions, the reaction and comments from supporters of other clubs has been overwhelmingly balanced and realistic. Ambition and hope for the future of your club is both admirable and understandable - but it only means something if it's actually achievable. There comes a point where ambition and hope just dissolve and blur into optimistic rose-tinted fantasy. This is exactly why local rich blokes buy fitba clubs. And look at how most of those scenarios have turned out.

The board of any 4th or 5th tier side could easily put out a mission statement tomorrow stating that their goal is to be Premiership champions within 5 years, followed by a 14-0 Champions League final victory over Barcelona in front of a millions-strong TV audience. Anyone with half a brain cell would immediately know that's an impossible scenario, no matter how much ££££ was thrown at it. At the very least - I wonder how new signings Kane, Haaland and Mbappe etc. (managed by Brian Clough, recently revived having been brought out of cryonic suspension) would feel about getting their kit on in an unheated Portakabin on a standless, reclaimed landfill pitch located up the arse-end of Scotland in the cold and pishing rain.

The OP has a beef with Morton's stated short-term ambition to be a top 16 club in Scotland. Fair enough - that's his opinion. But top 16 to me, is an eminently realistic goal for a club at our level - as are the real-world ambitions mentioned by other supporters on this thread, who are. all grounded enough to say something similar.

So - heads gone? Nope. Apart from the head of the OP, maybe.

The scenario you've outlined above is never likely to happen. Barcelona are pish these days and unlikely to be in a Champions League final.

Would need to be 6 oggies then!  We don't win by more than one.....

Best thing about tomorrow night is the pie.  Looking forward to the pie.

Will probably end up with 11 pies in blue shirts on the grass.

You've just set yourself up for another pile-on when we run out in yellow tomorrow.

Agree with you about the steak and black pies though.
