  1. I'd say the probability of Rovers making the playoffs now is considerably less than 50% and Morton less still, especially given our respective goal differences in relation to Inverness and Partick. Home advantage doesn't seem to be counting for too much this season - look at how many games Killie have lost at home, and even more strikingly, the fact Partick won 6-1 away at Hamilton this season, then got emptied by them at Firhill yesterday.
  2. And for that alone Steven should be disciplined. The rules are - if you don't see, you don't give. You don't give decisions by guessing. If it wasn't so serious and Steven wasn't such an abject little man, his use of the whistle during the melee was almost comical. It was like watching a box set of One Man and his Dog, the only difference being that the dugs generally take heed of the person whistling at them.
  3. I've not really been involved in a proper fight since I was about 13, but never in the 37 years since, have I wanted to inflict a scheme booting on anyone more than Colin Steven. Apparently he's a school teacher, so if ever there's an explanation for the disaster that is the current Scottish education system, then look no further.
  4. It was. The fact Williamson was bleeding kind of proves the fact. Another wonder call from Colin Steven.
  5. If we reach the playoffs and do reasonably well (semi finals or better), then there's a strong case for McGlynn to stay. If, after the level of backing he's had this season, we fail to make the playoffs, I think a change would be merited. However, as others have said, the list of realistic candidates hardly sets the heart racing. I'd bet my last pound that if we don't offer McGlynn a new deal, he'll be at Falkirk next season.
  6. There's a special programme tomorrow in tribute to Frank Connor. Some great pics and stories in it, including the full transcript of his induction into the Rovers Hall of Fame and a reprint of an interview he did for the excellent Stark's Bark fanzine in 1992. It's free of charge, but donations are welcome. All donations are going to Alzheimer's Scotland at the request of Frank's family.
  7. Decent chippy in Halbeath village. There's one on Links Street in Kirkcaldy and one on the high street, near the Penny Farthing pub, but haven't sampled from either in a while. The best chippies in Kirkcaldy are well away from the ground and the town centre.
  8. Novar Bar on Nicol Street or O'Connell's or the Exchequer on the high street.
  9. Second half was a hard watch, but in terms of effort, desire and commitment, it was the polar opposite to last Saturday. As Yogi would say - we did the Fun Da Mentals.
  10. Me neither, but the commentator told me that Hamilton touched a free kick round the post.
  11. Really enjoyed the Queens commentary the last three times we've been at Palmerston, but less so today. Rovers decent for 40 minutes, but started to look ropey at the back towards half time.
  12. Like a lot of other things at the club recently, the IWD situation could have been handled and presented better, but I've absolutely no doubt that the Twitter Queens were at the ready to criticise if the club made reference to it and equally so if they didn't.
  13. The new director owns the Mind and Body studio at Seafield. Maybe the players will be getting yoga as part of their training regime to get them in the zone and help them to meditate when delivering and defending set pieces.
  14. I'm going to hazard a guess that Rovers will play in red and Queens in blue, so as to keep our home strip sponsor out of the picture.
  15. As comprehensive a beating as I've ever seen us take from Ayr. On the day we paid tribute to Frank Connor, i shudder to think what he'd have made of such a spineless performance.
  16. Sad news. One of the very best managers in the club's history and a real character to boot. Condolences to his wife and family.
  17. Airdrie are away that weekend, so I'd reckon it's a decent bet. Can't see the pitch being an issue given that both Rovers and Queens have astro pitches.
  18. It always used to be on a Sunday, but it was scheduled for the Saturday in 2020. I'm pretty sure it was something daft like a 4.30 kick off as BBC Alibaba doesn't come on air until the back of 4. The game had started before the league games were finished.
  19. Only the gaffer will know if he's got 90 minutes in him, but I thought Aaron Arnott looked better than Williamson in the time he was on the park on Saturday. I'd imagine Williamson won't feature on Wednesday as he's probably played in the challenge cup already this season for the baby ****.
  20. Was Bene v Partick in the challenge cup semi from a corner? Even that is two years past.
